Finally, a haunted house with stellar set designs! We've had some okay-ish haunted houses in Reno but I was always put-off by the sets because they were low quality and too many scare-actors that they became predicable. Dark Corner put on by Junkee's has the visuals, the sounds, and scare factor. I loved it!! One thing most haunted houses under estimate is the fear of the unknown around the corner and this haunted house gave me that. There were just enough scare-actors to keep you on your toes and you couldn't predict where they were coming from...the eliminate of surprise! $25 a ticket may feel a bit pricey but it's well worth the quality of the performers and set.

Kingpin bowling alley is so rad. Open to public. No need for ticket. $5/ game

The sheer amount of work & detail that went into @darkcornerhaunt, Reno's biggest & hottest haunt, blows my mind. You'd think you were on a horror set in Hollywood. The haunt can be found in the national bowling stadium downtown and because of its huge size, Dark Corner was able to create the biggest haunt in Reno. Grab your peeps & put on your bravest face to take on Halloween spirit at its greatest, with Hollywood-like scenes loaded with details for days & scares lurking around every corner. I must admit that I don't scare easily with haunted houses in general (I think watching every single scary movie imaginable at a such a young age has something to do with this), but the reason why I'm in love with this haunt is because it was made by, what seems to be, passionate & dedicated individuals that aim to provide nothing but the best experience possible. Rest assured, they implore effective tactics and techniques in delivering quality scares. I appreciate how they've worked year round in improving their haunt... how they've doubled in size since last year. I'm in awe with their unreal props, along with their staff's costumes, acting skills, & fun spirits, & I applaud their courage in taking on such a big task of translating their Halloween visions to life. They also have a Kingpin bowling alley that adds another layer of fun. No ticket is necessary to play at this alley. Just line up and go through security and you'll be granted access to this Halloween themed bowling alley and bar. General admission is $25, while VIP is $50. If you want to skip the line, gain access to the most amazing vintage bar, & get a rad souvenier, VIP is the way to go & it's not even that much more. I must warn that they have limited quantities so be sure to secure them fast. Should you choose to go with general admission, make sure to bring good company for the wait. They provide characters & entertainment that make the wait fun. It's not common to find a haunt of this scale just anywhere. We are so lucky to have it here in Reno. Notes *separate line for vip *haunt was warm. I suggest to leave your thick jackets behind. *no touch haunt- you're not allowed to touch the actors & they're not allowed to touch you *exits everywhere just in case you can't handle the action. No refunds. *limited vip available *VIP worth every penny. Lounge must see. *entertainment provided while waiting in line for general admission *Visit Thursdays for smaller crowds *turn the corner to the right after passing the front of stadium to get to parking structure. $10 or park at eldorado/circus circus for free & walk 5-10 mins. *haunts take place on weekends (fri&sat), w/ select Thursdays, from end of Sept. all throughout October. *bowling alley is open to all. Go in without a ticket. full bar. $5/game. Fall in line. *everyone goes through metal detectors. No weapons *no recording/ photography at the haunt. Plenty of photo opportunities before and after the haunt *not everyone walks at the same pace. This may cause you to run into other groups at the end. Allow them to pass before proceeding if you're looking for more scares *plenty of neat vendors at the end of the haunt *don't forget to pick up your vip shirt/ gift at end *no bottles allowed inside *Purchase tickets online *promo: moonchild $2 off

So I need to start this review with the fact that this is not an extreme scare attraction-which I think is good because more people can attend, even children. I would suggest 12 years or older unless you have one that's immune to mild scares. It's very entertaining and well done and the cast was excellent while always staying professional-you could tell they had been well trained in appropriate behavior concerning touching patrons, etc. There are loud noises, strobe lights and it's very dark in some areas which is something to be mindful of for your group. Well done Junkee-rhat was a lot of fun!

Incredibly artistic experience, storyline, and production not to be missed!! The perfect amount of scary, with 2 huge haunted houses for the price of one.

The special effects were amazing! The actors were great and scary, especially the two girls! The DJ and entertainment were outstanding! Dustin, Gayle, Zack and Travis provided us such an amazing and personal experience! Would definitely recommend Dark Corner if you are a fan of haunted houses!

    One of several haunted corners!!

Creepy, scary, intense ride you'll never forget! We got a behind the scenes look at this place it is more immense than any haunted house I've ever witnessed, there's so many different characters to trip out on with so much crazy scenery and action all around you like something out of Hollywood! I highly recommend this place just make sure you strap on your seatbelt!

Dark Corner Haunt is so cool. My friend Ryan showed me around, a little sneaky peek behind the scenes before they open up for the season.

Ask the Community - Dark Prison

What's the parking situation/best place to park and the cost?

There's a garage attached to the bowling stadium, street parking on all surrounding streets and quite a few spots at the train station. I'm not sure the cost of the garage.

I have seen musicals all over and can easily say this production was top notch. From the set design to the backdrops, the incredibly talented cast and Orchestra. I was really impressed and so enjoyed this performance. This was also the first time attending this theatre and thought it was beautiful and most importantly, there doesn't seem to be a bad seat in the house. Well done WNMTC! I look forward to future productions.

This Theatre is an old building and I doubt they ever clean the air ducts. We just went to see Cinderella with the whole family, seven of us. My husband and I sat in the far right side of the area. During the whole show the air conditioning was shooting straight at us. We were cold but we figured that is better than being hot and so I put on a jacket. That evening when we got home we started feeling ill. It is not a normal cold or anything I have ever had before. We were instantly coughing up phlegm with a metallic taste in our mouths every time we coughed. My body was hot too. The next day, I was at the worst but then I felt better. Then a few days later I was spitting again. This is not a normal sickness and I can relate it to the fact we sat under the wind blowing from the a/c. I am giving this review because I think the Bob Boldrick Theatre should check and possibly clean their air conditioning ducts.

If…read moreyou are following, we will be home (in Reno) for a few more days and want to spend more time exploring our city and neighboring cities. This has popped up (among a few other events), so we decided to visit this first. Again, what a great find. So much art in the historic buildings surrounding the other buildings and throughout the town (murals!). I took very few pictures (can you believe that, lol), as I decided to drive versus walk on this very hot day. Ambiance - Two blocks...? Not just the old brewery, but all the adjoining buildings. And the lot across the street with the stage, see pictures. Lastly, the old church... is not a church any more, lol. Free outdoor summer concerts, see website. Theater, performance hall, exhibit hall, grand ballroom, education wing, etc. Classes, membership; see websites. Small parking lot, but other than the artists, we were the only guests here, lol. Well, the rest of the parking lot is currently being used for this event. Call or check their website for hours. Service - Everyone is so welcoming. Price - Free, thank you! I especially appreciated the nice touch at the end -- the actors taking their time during the curtain call to greet and thank all of the patrons. That made the experience even more personal and memorable. However, my first impression of the venue itself wasn't great. This was my first time visiting, and we had difficulty finding parking since it wasn't clear whether parking across by the church was allowed. We were able to find street parking and walked across. Once we arrived, we had trouble figuring out where to enter for the main stage performance. Unfortunately, the woman at the concessions counter (confections) was not helpful or friendly, which made things even more confusing. We ended up walking back and forth between buildings trying to find the correct entrance. The performance was 5-star, but the venue experience -- especially the initial interaction at the concessions counter -- was disappointing. NO stars. I hope this feedback helps improve the experience for future visitors.
