Forget spending huge bucks for tickets to musical, and driving to the bay area to see a performance and having to spend the night. Right in our backyard is such a talented group of actors and dancers, you would be hard pressed to find a huge difference between the big city performances, and these performances put on by the Western Nevada Musical Theatre Company. Over the past couple years we have seen, Les Miserables, The Music Man, My Fair Lady, The little Mermaid, Chicago and in the the fall we are seeing Beauty and the Beast. The tickets are very affordable. We sat in the 4th row and they were 25 dollars each. There is a live orchestra, and the sets and costumes are fabulous. So, if you you like musicals, the Western Nevada Musical Theatre Company puts on two performances a year, one in spring and one in fall. Support our local actors and dancers, you will not be disapointed.

Quality/Quantity - What a great find! And a nonprofit. If…read moreyou are following, we will be home (in Reno) for a few more days and want to spend more time exploring our city and neighboring cities. This has popped up (among a few other events), so we decided to visit this first. Again, what a great find. So much art in the historic buildings surrounding the other buildings and throughout the town (murals!). I took very few pictures (can you believe that, lol), as I decided to drive versus walk on this very hot day. Ambiance - Two blocks...? Not just the old brewery, but all the adjoining buildings. And the lot across the street with the stage, see pictures. Lastly, the old church... is not a church any more, lol. Free outdoor summer concerts, see website. Theater, performance hall, exhibit hall, grand ballroom, education wing, etc. Classes, membership; see websites. Small parking lot, but other than the artists, we were the only guests here, lol. Well, the rest of the parking lot is currently being used for this event. Call or check their website for hours. Service - Everyone is so welcoming. Price - Free, thank you! Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1975.

I especially appreciated the nice touch at the end -- the actors taking their time during the curtain call to greet and thank all of the patrons. That made the experience even more personal and memorable. However, my first impression of the venue itself wasn't great. This was my first time visiting, and we had difficulty finding parking since it wasn't clear whether parking across by the church was allowed. We were able to find street parking and walked across. Once we arrived, we had trouble figuring out where to enter for the main stage performance. Unfortunately, the woman at the concessions counter (confections) was not helpful or friendly, which made things even more confusing. We ended up walking back and forth between buildings trying to find the correct entrance. The performance was 5-star, but the venue experience -- especially the initial interaction at the concessions counter -- was disappointing. NO stars. I hope this feedback helps improve the experience for future visitors.

Owned and operated by a guy that has been swimming in the live entertainment industry for just about his whole life. Please Carson Citty, realize what you've got here and keep this place alive! We do not have any good places for shows in this town. OK, on to the food. My family and I had our Christmas get together here. We had a bunch of apps and I myself had the shrimp and grits. Super rad flavor on the grits and the apps were outstanding! The service was top tier and John gave us a little tour of the venue. Can't wait to see a show after a solid meal soon! Great atmosphere and a great addition to kick ass cuisine in Carson City. Lots of rad memorabilia on the walls and the owners have great stories about every single item in the place. I love that this place is here for us and I hope they feel the love from the area. I thoroughly enjoyed our time here and you should too. Keep Carson City Social!
