I looked online at Yelp and thought I would give it a try. The prices for the play are very affordable. For two people it was around $60.00. We decided to see the play "When We Were Young & Unafraid." This play was fantastic! The acting was incredible! I truly felt like I was watching an intense movie on the screen. The best play ever! Reno Little Theater is a small venue in Midtown. Close to a lot of nice cafes. Parking is limited but we arrived early and didn't have a problem. Light snacks and drinks are available to purchase. The people who took our name and sat us were so friendly! Love this venue! Will definitely return to see more plays!

Reno Little Theater (aka. RLT for short) has been a part of the Reno community for almost 100…read moreyears. They hosts a myriad of events ranging from their in-house theater productions to recurring music series and community events. The venue is versatile and accommodating for the different events I have attended at the space. I primarily visit RLT for their regular season productions which are affordable and well produced with local talent. During these types of shows, there are always drinks and light snacks available for purchase. I appreciate the variety of drinks available. There is usually 1 beer on draft as well as other canned options. Or, enjoy yourself a little more and do a canned cocktail! The staff is always friendly, and the facility clean. The parking can be a little difficult (as is the case for most places in Midtown), but as long as you arrive early you can find a spot within a block of the theater. Regardless of how much I like the show I am seeing, I know RLT will provide a space that is comfortable and welcoming. The schedule is thoughtful and community oriented, so it is likely to be an enjoyable event.

The lady I sat next to tonite was there with her Mom and family and flew in from Pasadena, had dinner and came to the show to see their sister/daughter perform. They were fun to talk to. The play was truly a great experience for women and it reminded me of Menopause the Musical they have played 8 shows with the last one tomorrow night! I almost want to go see it again, but because it will be no more. It's too bad these ladies couldn't take their play on the road, I think they do very well across the country the performance and the singing was amazing!!! Thank you for the laugher!!!

Almost, Maine…read more Running the first two weekends of August 2024. A play based in a small town called Almost. It's several romantic events that all are actually happening at the same time. The cast of six mixed and matched, playing all the characters needed. In the one and a half hours, you went through several emotions with the characters- sadness, heartbreak, love, realization, and happiness. The minimalist set allowed the audience to focus more on the actors to tell each short story. This wasn't my first experience at RAT, I have seen a handful of productions here. It's a great small theater with individual tiered seats. A very enthusiastic staff. And easy parking. Still time to catch this show.

I don't know why we have not been to one of these shows before, the actors were outstanding, the production was hilarious, and we had a great time. I can not say enough about the professionalism and the friendliness of this group of young people. Every one of them, from Jessica, our fearless leader/director and game show hostess, to Nina, the "dancer who came in off the street" made all of the Yelp team feel welcome and very much a part of the whole event. It was so darn funny - I had a hard time trying to keep from laughing out loud on stage - I was not successful. I was able to completely enjoy the second half as an audience member. I laughed until it hurt! I would highly recommend going to see one of their remaining performances at the wonderful, intimate Good Luck Macbeth space in Midtown. It is great improv theater. Just like a box of chocolates - you never know what you are going to get.

The small venue and everything built by hand didn't seem like it had that much promise. But when I arrived for the real Game Show Show it was a blast! I was part of the team that played against the Utility Players in Family Feud. They succeeded in making this feel like a real game show. They even had a "Vanna White" type gal. The Hostess of the show was really sharp and fast with the right responses. The second part of the show is a $10,000 Pyramid type thing. I was able to enjoy this from the audience and it didn't disappoint either. Whoever writes the stuff seems to have found funny and believable subject matter that transcends just "game show" and makes you laugh out loud. I'm hoping to catch at least one more of The Game Show Show before it closes.

While it is clear the performers are not professional actors, they are talented and the performance are well done. I attended Shrek'd a musical parody and it was cute and funny. Theatreworks mission is to provide youth and the underserved in the community with a chance to enjoy the arts and they do so by partnering with local programs like the Boys and Girls club. I really enjoyed how they had young actors and local actors. I can't wait for their next show.

Venue is interesting and was warmer than I would have liked, even with a fan going. Seating was stadium style with 19 per row. The instructors, Jeff and Cindy are so great! They are welcoming, encouraging, and professional. There are many regulars that attend the basics class as a warm up and then take the level 2 class an hour later. I have gone to 3 classes and plan on taking more in the future. I have also attended a members social that had food, drinks, music, and two hours of fun. Everyone that I have met at the classes are friendly and patient when I ask questions or get the moves wrong. I feel that I can only get better with practice and experience. There are other classes offered at the ballroom like Salsa,Tango, Country Two-Step,Country Swing and more! This is Northern Nevada's only nonprofit dance studio and they are doing everything they can to get everyone dancing. The research on partnership dancing and aging has been phenomenal! That alone should encourage everyone to dance! The Ballroom offers a free Dance With Me program for those who have cognitive and/or mobility issues such as Parkinson's or dementia. There is an afterschool program through Reno Housing Authority in underserved areas. There is also a program for young children! Last night was the annual fundraiser Gala for the studio and what fun we all had. What wonderful performances by all. And yes, I have the parent's permission to post the pictures of the youngest student to perform at the studio!
