Well designed, lots of bars and bathrooms. It's easy to get in and out. Traffic flow is usually not too bad. They do have construction happening for the new arena, which means that parking at the GSR is limited, so be aware on show nights and come a bit early. The bar prices are semi-reasonable. They have beer, canned cocktails, and some wine choices. They also have light snacks for purchase, but no real food options. The primary challenge with this venue is the sound. It's just not great. The echoes are noticeable, and it's often way too loud in here. I always feel like I need my earplugs at this venue. Many reviews tell you how great their show was, and I think they are confusing the show quality with the venue quality. The shows here are great, but that doesn't have anything to do with the venue itself. If you are looking for a top-shelf auditory experience, you might want to consider seeing your show at another venue. If you're okay with some sound imperfections, the Grand Theatre is a perfectly fine venue.

I looked online at Yelp and thought I would give it a try. The prices for the play are very affordable. For two people it was around $60.00. We decided to see the play "When We Were Young & Unafraid." This play was fantastic! The acting was incredible! I truly felt like I was watching an intense movie on the screen. The best play ever! Reno Little Theater is a small venue in Midtown. Close to a lot of nice cafes. Parking is limited but we arrived early and didn't have a problem. Light snacks and drinks are available to purchase. The people who took our name and sat us were so friendly! Love this venue! Will definitely return to see more plays!

Reno Little Theater (aka. RLT for short) has been a part of the Reno community for almost 100…read moreyears. They hosts a myriad of events ranging from their in-house theater productions to recurring music series and community events. The venue is versatile and accommodating for the different events I have attended at the space. I primarily visit RLT for their regular season productions which are affordable and well produced with local talent. During these types of shows, there are always drinks and light snacks available for purchase. I appreciate the variety of drinks available. There is usually 1 beer on draft as well as other canned options. Or, enjoy yourself a little more and do a canned cocktail! The staff is always friendly, and the facility clean. The parking can be a little difficult (as is the case for most places in Midtown), but as long as you arrive early you can find a spot within a block of the theater. Regardless of how much I like the show I am seeing, I know RLT will provide a space that is comfortable and welcoming. The schedule is thoughtful and community oriented, so it is likely to be an enjoyable event.

I got a Groupon to do a month of acting classes. I was just looking for a fun activity for her, she was only four years old at the time. She has been going to Take 2 Performer's Studio ever since and adores it. Not only are they amazing with the kids, but they are so warm and caring. They really foster a great learning atmosphere for the kids here. That is what I love most about this place. I love that it is locally owned and managed by a mom too! Five years ago, after only maybe two acting lessons, a Hollywood talent agency visited the studio and all of the students were allowed to audition if they wanted. This type of audition happens a couple times a year there. A handful of kids were called back by the agency, and my daughter was one of them! It was such a big surprise to us and she was, naturally, delighted to get to go to Hollywood. She did get signed and has since been a principle character on a famous television show. Not only did she LOVE getting to go to LA, but she was thrilled that she got paid really well too. There is nothing like letting your child do something they love to do, but also fill up their college savings account! Since that fun start, our little girl has been taking lessons for acting and voice here. She has had a little training there for modeling too. The school puts on great plays which we love. Like right now, they are rehearsing for a Christmas play. Our daughter has gotten to perform in front of hundreds of people both singing and acting through Take 2. "Stage Fright" is not in her vocabulary. She has gained so much confidence. She has also done runway modeling for local malls a couple times, which was really fun, through Take 2. Really, Take 2 gives their students great tools and amazing opportunities. We really feel like the management tries hard to give the kids as many opportunities as possible to utilize what they are learning. They make the lessons fun, so the kids see it as "play" but really they are learning a ton. I look back to how we started this fun journey with a Groupon for a month of acting classes and it amazes me how much my child has gotten out of her training at Take 2.

I happened to be looking at their classes during the holidays and they had a great special so I jumped on the chance to get it. You can get one class per week for a price or if you bump it up a bit, you can get unlimited classes as well as discounts on special events/workshops they offer. We opted for the one class per week deal to see if he would actually like it. He absolutely LOVES it! All of the instructors are wonderful and very patient with the kids (this is not just for children, mind you, but the classes he takes are the children ones). Waters (acting), Colette (modeling), Claire (modeling), Holly (improv) and Justine the owner and so easy to talk to and very professional. Did I mention Grace Hayes is the children's voice coach? She made it through the auditions to American Idol! There are several other instructors as well, but I have not had the pleasure of meeting them yet. Four months later, he now goes five days a week and looks forward to every class. It is such a confidence builder having to speak in front of your peers and adults. If you or your child is so inclined to learn how to act, sing, model or all of the above, do yourself a favor and check out Take2 Performers Studio. I don't know why we have not been to one of these shows before, the actors were outstanding, the production was hilarious, and we had a great time. Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary…read more..... Oh wait, it was noon on a hot August Saturday, when a friend and I came to GLM. GLM was hosting the traveling production of Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy. A fabulous way to enjoy this early 1800's American writer. After checking in at the door we were directed into the theater, where it was open seating. I recommend arriving 20-25 minutes early to get the best seat. After seating the first cocktail was passed out and a welcome to the show announcement was made. The first poem was Pale Blue Eye paired with a drink of the same name, with a pale blueberry eye floating in it. Emptied were picked up and The Cat's Meow (a spin on EAP's favorite drink, brandy milk) was paired with The Black Cat. After the first two readings, I was getting the subtle hint Poe didn't know how to properly keep murders a secret. Next was the famous The Raven accompanied by nevermore. The final story was The Masque of the Red Death and to sip while sitting on the edge of your chair. The brandy milk was my favorite. It reminded me a little of a Brandy Alexander. The other three cocktails were good and great play on the accompanying story. Although they were a bit too sweet for me. The performances were fabulous, the tortured well portrayed. The stage with limited props and a magical backdrops was perfect. It drew you into his small dark world. The cast was your crew. Creating cocktails, picking up empties, and performing. An incredibly hard working small group. It is not all dark and dreary. The Poe puns will have you chuckling along, or maybe that the the fourth cocktail I had. Now I'm curious about other similar productions. I would love to attend more like this. Be considerate- the seating is a bit tight. Try not to come and go. Also watch your drink, I wore some of the person's next to me. Great theater. Deadly fun concept.
