The wines that stood out were the pilot and chardonnay, I know they are known for the shiraz and cab though. Wine tasting at Darioush is next-level. This is Persian opulence at its finest, with everything from the historical stone to the imported pistachios to the house-made Earl Grey hand soap carefully crafted. Not to mention, of course, the WINE! The tasting here was thoughtfully paired with some delicious bites, from lamb chops to pistachio soup to traditional bread. My Persian boyfriend was delighted to have a taste of home. We walked around the grounds afterwards but hope next time to take a glance at the basement (our tasting table had a glass top where we could peer down a floor to see the barrels, but we want to get a little closer next time!). We had an amazing food pairing wine tasting in an intimate setting inside the owner's personal cellar. "invitation Only" , the experience started in the "family room" where our host poured us some white wine and showed us pictures of the wine owner's family and the architecture of the winery. We were served some ossetra caviar as a palate cleanser, great way to start a tasting! We toured the barrel areas and ended at the owner's personal cellar for the seated food and wine pairing. The food was exceptional: another course of caviar, followed by an interesting pairing of Hokkaido scallops with Cabernet! The best dish was the Australian Wagyu steak paired with the Darious II Cabernet. The 2019 Darious II was elegant and opulence with tremendous power, with an exceptionally captivating mouthfeel. The best wine tasting experience we had during our Napa trip. I may be bias because of my Persian background but it's truly worth a visit if you're coming to town. I don't believe you get the same scenery in another winery in Napa. it's very unique to Iranian culture which I resonate with. Our server was amazing and very knowledgeable about the wines and the background of the winery. The assortment of small bites complementing the wine was exceptionally delicious as well. I truly mean it when I say this place was very welcoming and I did not feel that in any other wineries in Napa. They even gave us some pistachios for the road. This is a beautiful winery to visit if you are in Napa! The architecture is Persian inspired with high ceilings and long columns. I booked their outdoor Signature Mezze. The patio was spacious and vibrant. The wines were delicious. My personal favorite was the 2020 Duel Cab. Our host was very knowledgeable and provided thorough explanations throughout. I really enjoyed the small plates that accompanied the wine; it complimented the wine well. Their bread and pistachios were so delicious! My friends and I made a reservation for a wine tasting here prior to me finding out that I was pregnant. We could not cancel but our host was still able to make the experience enjoyable for me and accommodated me by serving me ginger ale as opposed to wine. I do wish they had offered a bit more food in place of the wine I did not get to try. I would be remiss if I failed to compliment the tasty bites that were served during our tasting. I can't comment on the food pairings with the wine but my hard-to-please friends expressed satisfaction indulging in them. I will have to come back and make the judgment myself. I loved hearing about the winery's history while admiring the mesmerizing Persian architecture all throughout the property. It was a cold and rainy day that day but so we did not get to explore the winery in its entirety but based on what we had seen, the grounds were well-maintained. Darioush was one of the highlights of our Napa valley trip! This was my second time here but I continue to be impressed by the stunning architecture and the rich Persian influence. It truly sets this winery apart. Our tasting was intimate and personal, and we also did a tour with our guide. I loved that many of the staff were Persian, it added a sense of authenticity and warmth that made us feel right at home. The wine is absolutely excellent, and the small bites that accompanied the tasting were perfectly paired. We happened to visit just before a large dinner event was about to begin that Mr Darioush personally hosts, and now we're absolutely planning to come back for one of those in the future! read more

This was one of my favorite wineries in Napa. The employees here are hilarious, well-informed, and very sweet. The mezze is amazing and well portioned; not too much, not too little. The pace at which they operate is exquisite as it seems like everything (from the food, to the wine) they bring out is timed to perfection. I love to support Persian-owned businesses, so this was a must-visit for me. The architecture surrounding this building is beautiful and once you walk inside, you're surrounded by everything Persian. The history of the people is amazing and this place definitely aims to expose everyone to that. It's lovely. They do offer memberships and as a result, discounts to those who are a part of it. I personally wasn't interested as I don't plan to visit often, but it seems like a good deal. read more

Wow! Where to start! This was hands down my favorite wine tasting experience I have ever had. Marc guided us through the wines, while being so gracious and teaching us the history of Darioush. The wines were superb! We purchased the Viognier, the cab franc and the Red Blend. All the wines paired perfectly with the light bites they gave us, which were so yummy and unique. They also didn't weigh us down and were healthy with lots of veggie options. That really enhanced the wines. The tour of the cellar was the cherry on top, and we loved learning more about the winemaking practices. So on first appearance, don't judge the Darioush Winery because it looks like it could be something out of Disney World and doesn't match up to the area surroundings at all. But the wine, service, and overall experience on site it truly amazing! Our resort concierge made us a reservation in advance for the standard tasting experience ($90/each) and we arrived right at the start of our tour time. We were greeted by a host, and were introduced to our host for the day, Orietta. Orietta was so personable and we absolutely bonded with her from the start. We were escorted to a private room with our small group and had a glass of wine and paired it with a small cup of soup with olive oil on top and had a brief introduction to olive oil. Orietta had an extensive background in olive oil and we learned so many things about olive oil that we didn't know. Orietta took us around the various parts of the winery, from the outdoor vine area to the cellars and provided us an extensive education of the winery and the various wines and olive oil production. We ended in the downstairs area for a complimentary olive oil session with food pairings, along with the various wines from our tasting. I later saw the Olive Oil Session was provided to us complimentary by the winery, so thank you to the entire Darioush team for this! The tasting room experience was very private and probably one of the standout wineries from multiple visits we've had to the Napa Valley area. Tasting fees are not waived with wine purchase, but we loved the wine so much we purchased a bottle of the 2021 Signature Pinot Noir ($88) and it was a great memento of the trip. There was a school group receiving a tour or the winery which included the architecture of the location. Mike had excellent knowledge of the wine being served. Beautiful winery and vineyard. One of my friend raved about their reds. The wine and ambiance are great but the service we got last Saturday 3/29 at the bar was disappointing. We didn't do tasting experience but just wanted to purchase some bottles. We had a lady helped us but she had to leave and passed us to an older gray haired guy who made our experience unpleasant. We felt hurried with our purchases and he seemed to be not having a good day (grouchy old guy). We still purchased several bottles and we all bid him farewell plus even wished him a better rest of the day. read more

My friend and I went to Darioush to celebrate our birthdays. For starters, the property is immaculate. The attention to detail and homage to home for Darioush that went into it is evident. Once we got started, Marta made our experience truly magical. She was a great story teller, was extremely personable, had a ton of in-depth information to share about the food/wine and history of Darioush and was an all around joy to share company with. Marta elevated what was an already great experience. This was a special stop for us, given my wife gave us the Culture of Wine experience as a first-anniversary present. Darioush was on the top of my wife's list of wineries for us to discover for our first proper trip to the Napa-Sonoma Valley. This winery was where we concluded our first wine tour of the area (not the last), and it was one of the most magical. The main winery building is designed like a Persian temple with towering columns, pristine fountains, and manicured bouquets of flowers and bushes surrounding it. The inside is quite luxurious, with high-rise ceilings and more columns, very Persian in style and feel due to the owners who immigrated here and started something extraordinary. The tour started in the vineyard north of the main tasting house under a canopy, where we enjoyed glasses of their 2019 viognier and shells with caviar inside them, which paired nicely. We made our way down one of the vineyards before returning to the main winery house via the basement level, with oak barrels of wine aging. We walked through the basement passed the tasting room, where we would enjoy our primary pairings through another barrel aging room before being shown the wine cellar, which was beautiful. There were tremendous bottles of all varietals of wine from across the globe. Hell, they even had bottles of Petrus, which are expensive and hard to find. The tasting itself was quite amazing, with the chef explaining each of the pairings that were served with the wines that had been poured. The wines served were the 2019 Chardonnay, the 2018 Shiraz, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon, and the 2018 Darius II Cabernet Sauvignon -- the latter is Darioush's signature and the one many wine enthusiasts in the know want to enjoy at least once in their lives. The food pairings were delicious. They served roasted beets with beet puree, fromage blanc, and pistachio pesto. This went quite well with the Shiraz. There was ricotta ravioli with swiss chard, kale, lemon garlic cream, and ricotta salata. I enjoyed the ravioli a lot with the chardonnay, and the local mushrooms with truffle served with parmesan foam. My favorite was the Sonoma Duck Confit Arancini, which I rotated between the Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. Both of these wines were truly delicious, especially with the duck confit. The final food serving was the Mesquite Grilled Rib Cab with DK Gaden Carrot Puree. Naturally, I paired this with the Cab and with the Darius II. Tasting Darioush's crown jewel was quite an experience that had both richness and earthiness. To conclude, our trip to Darioush was undoubtedly magical. The winery is a true gem in a region filled with great wineries. read more

This place is super cool! I love the whole theme here! But everyone's pictures and videos from social media make it seem larger. it's a lot smaller than what it looks like on social media. The tastings were great. Some of my favorite wines were here. The person serving us was very informative, but he just seemed very catty, which we did not appreciate. What made up for it was the scenery, and the actual taste of the wine and the pairings. The food yum! The tour was just OK. I would not do the tasting again, but I would go back for the wine, but definitely not the service.... when a beacon is lit it means the owner is there. read more

Darioush is one of the more pricier wineries but I didn't think the price equaled out to the quality of food and wine tasting. It just didn't taste that great to me. Between the wines and the bites of food nothing really stood out to be honest. The wide low couch seating wasn't very comfortable to eat the food served. It felt like we had to hunch over trying the food on a super low coffee table. I would have preferred a proper table. What Darioush does have going for them is that the place is beautiful. Everything is very clean and well kept. The unique pillars out in front instantly catch your eye. As you get closer you then notice the beautiful lily ponds on the side. We have been coming here for about 25 years when they were a humble little trailer on Silverado Trail! We are so happy for them, and how they have expanded and have become absolutely one of the best wineries in Napa Valley! So, so beautiful! Today was our first time back since Covid doing some winetasting! I met the nicest lady in the neighborhood the other day name, Gil... she told me she worked there, and they still do Napa neighbors for one guest! We showed up on a Monday and was helped by Farid... Oh my word did we fall in love with that man! So hospitable, Handsome, friendly, kind, and accommodating! He actually Is or was born in Iran and now I wished I asked if he would speak his language! . It is pricey here, but boy, they make sure you get your moneys worth! So impressed with the food and atmosphere! They had these small lamb lollipops that were to die for! Darioush produces some of the finest red wines in the valley. The inside is beautiful and the wines are top notch. We have twice experienced the tastings down in the Barrel Chai (downstairs private wine cellar) and were quite pleased both times. The downstairs tastings run around $150 per person. I was quite pleased the first time we visited (5 star) but the second time seemed to have slightly smaller pours (~1.5 oz)? Maybe this is the economy in which we find ourselves? I would have definitely given 5 stars but the pours were a little small IMO for the price tag. The wines are phenomenal but definitely had me hoping for a slightly larger pour. If you're looking for some beautiful fine wines, Darioush is a great spot on the Napa wine trail. read more
