Super first experience! We were looking for something fun to do on the West Side with our friends visiting from Chicago since we didn't feel like heading downtown. We decided to grab an Uber and head to Daredevil. It was very easy to find and since it is in Speedway, isn't in a super busy area. This also meant that while the place was fairly busy, it wasn't so packed that we couldn't get a table despite the Cubs game being on, which by the way, was very easy on their TVs even if not sitting directly at the bar. The place to hang out inside isn't huge but a decent size. It looks like they have a decent outdoor space as well when the weather is better. I will say that it does kinda smell a bit weird I believe because of the actual brewing happening just behind the wall. It was noticeable when we first arrived, but I was able to quickly put it out of my mind. Also, they don't really do tours but you can e-mail them to arrange something if looking to do something for an event. I decided to try a flight of beer to sample a variety. Really fair prices, especially to my friends visiting from Chicago, haha. I actually ended up having two full flights, I can't remember exactly what they all were like but honestly I pretty much enjoyed them all and I tried quite a good variety. I remember their saison, Carnival, being one of my favorites. Everyone else enjoyed their beer as well. Our server came around just enough to keep us stocked but not enough to interrupt conversation. We also never felt rushed which I appreciate when catching up with people you haven't seen in a while. We didn't end up getting food here but the menu sounded delicious - they really put a focus on using local merchants and a nearby barbecue place will also deliver. I definitely plan to take more friends here soon and we were excited to find their best selling IPA, Lift Off in our local Meijer, yesss! read more

A little different than how most bars run. You order your food and drink at either end of the bar and then have to carry the drinks to the bar. Though the one guy did help as I had 3 glasses and was struggling to get them to the table. We had the dunkle and kolsch and both were good, tasty and refreshing. For food we got the meat and cheese board and it was good. They also allow you to bring food in from outside and even order from Bourbon BBQ down the road and deliver to your table! Great place!! It's right off the Speedway drag and goes great with the racing theme. Pretty good beer with occasional rotators. Have some famous staple beers (Lift Off IPA). Pretty accessible to park which is free. Indoor/ outdoor seating with corn hole outside. In the summer they also host live music on occasions. read more

Made a detour here after the go kart racing down the street, it was a great find. The beers were excellent and we had the bartender put a flight together for us that did not disappoint. Also they have a little touch of some mini pencils and tic tac toe cards to enjoy while you drink yummy beer. Nice clean atmosphere and the staff were top notch. read more

This brewery continues to impress. They started slow, rolling their brews across different pubs in Indy. Now that the taproom is open I feel the sky is the limit for them. They take beers and do them well. Period. Not to mention you get an authentic brewery experience (not the restaurant with a brewery moniker thrown in). Check it out, you won't be disappointed. As far as breweries go the staff at Daredevil have been some of my favorite. Multiple staff checked in on our experience. We also had a great explanation of each of the beers. We always ask for a full flight when we go to a brewery, Daredevil was the first place that was ready for that! We tried nine beers, all had distinct clear favors. A cool tap room! The building is prominently part of the Main Street scene in Speedway, IN. Not only is there a nice indoor space with a large bar, but there is also a lawn area just through the doors of the tap room which can accommodate fun outdoor festivities when the weather is nice. The parking lot is adjacent to the lawn space, making it the perfect spot for food trucks to set up shop. I recently planned a graduation party at the tap room for a friend, and it was so fun! I corresponded with Daredevil over email to set it up , and the communications were very prompt and professional. The day of the party, the tap room staff were extremely accommodating and friendly to our larger party. I would highly recommend this location to others looking to plan gatherings for groups. There are now several options for ordering food while visiting Daredevil. You can have Jimmy Johns, Pizza Hut, or BBQ delivered. They also carry Just Pop In!, and have meat/cheese trays for order. Daredevil is a great addition to Speedway and a wonderful representation of the local craft beer scene in Indiana. read more

I've got a lot of love for local breweries, and I have to hand it to the (currently) only one in Speedway, IN. I'm happy to have an option in that area, but a couple things make this an "A-OK" experience for me. 1) The outdoor situation. They have a massive, fenced in outdoor courtyard. I was there as a part of their Hops and Flip Flops event (I participated in the 5k and hung around for the free beer). My wife attended, but only walked the 5k, so she brought our dog along. Dogs are NOT allowed inside the fenced area outside. It seems like such a perfect place to have a K9 companion, that it made me sad to stand outside the fence with him. So much so that I didn't stay for the additional parties (beer fest and block party) happening after the 5k. 2) The beer selection. They have very few beers available, one of which is always liftoff IPA. Liftoff is a nice, mild IPA, but I get tired of drinking it when its 1 of 2 options. Especially when the second option is something like a Kolsch. I'm willing to forgive the dog friendliness, not everywhere is Broad Ripple. But I just need more beer from you, Daredevil. What you do isn't bad, just do more of it. read more

cool brewery right on main st. in speedway. open, clean layout with great outdoor patio. nice touch with the brick bar back, otherwise very simple with a couple windows into the brewery, growlers, & the beer taps. shiny black bar top with no rail and a bright red bar face. round steel foot rest. metal bar stools that are not particularly comfortable, but also not unconformable. not sure what purpose the little back serves. polished concrete floors and large windows that let in plenty of afternoon sunshine and great view to main st. & the outdoor patio. huge beer selection that is not overpowered with ipas & stouts, but include several lighter beers. some snacks also available, but if you want food you have to order out or hope a food truck is there that day. friendly staff and other patrons that are there to have a casual, but fun time. read more

I live in Cincinnati...and this place reminds me of of what Cincy already has. It's a VERY nice space. No smoking patio...but who needs cancer anyways. They only had 2 beers on tap but they were both delicious...especially the IPA. It's right by the Indy 500 business so thats pretty legit. I would definitely go back. We tried the Lift Off, USA Wheat, and Slingshot, as well as a few others whose names I don't remember. Every beer we tried was delicious, but the favorite for our group was the Lift Off. The other thing we appreciated was that the service was excellent - relaxed but friendly and attentive. The space itself is cool and a great place to spend time with friends. We did not have any food, but everything around us looked good. The parking is easy nearby, and we recommend this stop to anyone looking for great beer and service in a cool space. read more

Lift Off IPA is my favorite of their beers but really all of them are good. There is usually a floating server but I recommend going up to the bar to order. The ends of the bar are specifically open for this purpose. Bartenders are friendly. They have a nice patio and grass area to play yard games. For the month of May the patio is covered so you're not in direct sun. A great place to go before or after the track. read more

From the moment I bought the Lift Off from the local grocer, I knew I would enjoy Daredevil's other beers. Low and behold, I do! They have an awesome selection of IPA's. The venue itself does not have too much seating, but there is a nice long counter/bar set up in the middle that will let you and your party appreciate the televisions (and each other). There seems to be some pretty nice growler deals on certain days, so I'll definitely have to remember to bring mine in next itme! read more

I have visited here twice. Consistently the service has been horrible. I went with three friends each time and we agreed this would be the last. I was standing in line to be served and was totally ignored. Another friend went to get service and was told someone would be by and of course they never showed up. Avoid this place. Another great addition to the Speedway area in the last few years. They've got a good range of beers with everything from the hoppy to the mild (although I think they do best with the hops). They also have a great patio / yard area with plenty of tables and even some cornhole sets. The inside isn't huge but still has a good amount of seating if the weather has to keep you in. They've got some good growler specials too, so getting some to-go is a nice option. Such a cool brewery! My guy and I both got beers and we shared a meat and cheese board. The board was delicious and very unique. The meats were exotic and the cheese local, some interesting pickled things, and great crackers and bread to accompany. The chef brought it out and explained everything to us while we were sitting outside in the patio area. There was an event next door that was driving people around the block in an indy car, which was fun to watch. There are also several sets of corn hole to play. We didn't partake but it was fun to watch others. Our beers were great. My husbands came in a really tall cool looking glass and mine in a tulip glass. Bar tender was knowledgeable and helpful. Went here for a few drinks before dinner and their beer is great. I had the stout, which was great. I'm more of a stout guy than IPAs. I'm not a fan of IPAs so it's often hard for me to find something I like at craft breweries but this place has enough variety for me. After the stout I had a race day lager which drank like a Miller lite. The only thing I'd suggest is a bit more seating but I know that is hard to get with a place like this. read more

Upon a closer consultation of the Daredevil website, and confirmation with my husband, I see that it is the case that the beers on tap are all Daredevil brews, not guest beers. Ack! There's a sign that says use another entrance but there was no indication on where to go. Didn't know the front entrance gate was not the entrance. No big deal: the lady up front was rude and we're being smart about us not following the entrance when all this business had to do was LOCK the entrances that aren't supposed to be used. I really like this place - very good food offerings that go well with beer, one of the consistently extra fine producer of beers in the wonderfully strong Indy market. So why risk your customer satisfaction on a nickel-and-dime short pour. I appreciate portion control, but that's a stupid error on the wrong side of the line. This is a great, airy space to hang out. The Vacation Koelsch is really refreshing and the Dunkels Bock reminding me of my time in Bavaria. Although you order at the bar, they bring the food to you. The meat and cheese board was a little empty compared to a couple of other places, but very good. They have quite a few items on the food menu, but you can also order delivery from local restaurants or bring food in. And you can play tic-tac-toe at your table. read more
