Very unhappy. Requested a premium cleaning of our metal roofed home located on a small island precisely 1500 feet from Friday Harbor Washington. When I made the appointment, I told them EXACTLY the situation--they would have to take ferry to Friday harbor, and then we'd transport workers and supplies in our 17 foot skiff. They made appointment, mentioned no problems. 5 weeks after i made the appointment, and less than 2 weeks before they were scheduled to arrive, they sent an unsigned email saying they were cancelling because it was too difficult to transport their equipment and workers on a small boat instead of driving. I GUESS that's understandable (although we've had other tradesman here doing same sort of thing without issue) BUT to wait so long to tell us was unprofessional at best. Now I'm scrambling to get roof cleaned in timely manner, and everyone's booked. Be SURE to talk to someone in person before relying on them to do your service. Addendum (in response to DAPrDAN) #1 I DID send photo documentation of the roof and the house as requested. If you had not received, I would've gladly re-sent if I'd been informed that you had not. I fail to see why pictures of our home and its roof would've made a difference in your decision, but oh well. #2 The ferry system had some glitches around Memorial Day which were sensationalized. People who live here deal with glitches all the time--we've gone off and on island several times since then without a problem. If your company cancels all the San Juan Islands jobs every time there's a problem with the ferry system, you shouldn't advertise that you'll provide service here. What I believe happened is that the reservation was made without anyone really considering how to get it done until the last minute. Blaming it on the ferry system is a convenient excuse. Again, not taking responsibility for your part in this fiasco is one more piece of evidence as to unprofessional behavior, and refusing to honor a commitment made. A phone call rather than a curt email to cancel a long held appointment also would've been appreciated. read more

Super happy with the Trimlite permanent lighting installation! Ben came out for the estimate and explained the process, along with answering all my questions. Jarod arrived promptly as promised and started work right away. He was there for several hours into the dark and even started to snow a little. He kept me informed along the way, taught me how to use the app, and sent me an after project report with good detail on what was done. We were referred by our realtor. The person who came to do the work did an OK job. The roof and gutters and skylights were done well. But the work on the windows was so-so. In fact, the job was only about 90% of the way done (multiple windows left unwashed), and then they wrapped up for the day and left without finishing! We had to call to have them come back to finish the work, which isn't the end of the world, but we're getting ready to sell our house and we need every bit of time and energy we have. Having to ask someone to come back to finish a job that they were supposed to complete was just one more hassle during an already hectic time, which is why I cannot five a 5-star review. When they did come back they did an adequate, but not great, job on the remaining windows. I'll be honest, there are lots of companies that can do this service, so I'm a little disappointed. Would I try DAPrDAN again? Maybe. But only after calling around to other companies first to check prices. read more

Short Version: Thorough, Professional, High Quality, not the cheapest but well worth the money. Did a great job, and would highly recommend. Longer Version: We just moved to Orcas island, and wanted to find someone to clean off the moss & lichen growing our steep, (12:12 pitch) roof. We chose DaprDan based on the positive feedback, and the fact they served the San Juans. The entire process was very smooth and professional, from the bid to the scheduling, to the actual work. I was able to get prompt and complete answers for the questions I had around the work to be performed and the bid. The scheduling was seamless, and they knew their way around the WSF ferry system, all of which speaks to their experience. Everything was done with the use of an online portal (though they were also very responsive to phone calls, when I called them), making it easy to see and confirm the schedule. While the bid wasn't the lowest, they did a good job explaining what they would be doing, and how those factors affected the cost -- the ferry, the pitch and materials of the roof, and so on. As for the actual work, it went equally smoothly: - They reconfirmed the appointment 3 days before arriving - They showed up on time(!), with an appropriately sized crew of 3 - They were courteous and accommodating on site - They were committed to making sure they did a quality job. In this case, it meant spending 9 hours on site, to do a thorough job, even if it meant taking a later ferry home. - They made sure the leave the site (driveway, parking area) cleaner than they found it! Finally, on the follow-up, they sent me their field notes on observations they have for ongoing maintenance, along with the final invoice. We hired DAPrDAN to clean our roofs and guttering on two separate structures - a house and a garage/workshop in the San Juans, in preparation for sale of the property. They were extremely communicative in their preparation for the work. They arrived a little late, but no fault of their own - Washington state ferries are sometimes unreliable. Not a big deal. We were really impressed with Cristian and Noah. They were knowledgeable, professional, and extremely talented in negotiating the truck and trailer up and down our very difficult sloping driveway through the forest. Their roof cleaning was thorough, professional, and spot-on, and they negotiated our high steep roofs with aplomb! The roofs and guttering look fabulous after they were done. Cleanup was also thorough, and their friendly attitude and detailed explanation of what they were doing was great. They were also extremely polite. They put trimlights up for us and did an amazing job! I didn't think they would be able to pull it off in time for the holidays but they pulled through and delivered with quality and on time! That being said, trimlights are not cheap....but definitely worth it . Would highly recommend their service for lights. The person they sent did high quality rock solid work. I tipped twice, once to the installer and afterwards received an invoice for another tip. I was unsure who would receive the second tip. I would have tipped more the second time had I known it would go directly to the installer. read more

I had Greg with DAPrDAN arrive to my house right on time, and as expected was very professionally dressed and acting in the upmost professional manner. He worked around us and our 4 kids without any issue. The windows came out incredibly clean... in fact the next day I had multiple birds try to fly through them as if they didn't exist. That's clean! Additionally he spoke with me about other services they offer that we definitely are in need of. He even threw some moss killer on a couple spots on the roof... complimentary. We asked him to clean a couple huge mirrors we had and he took care of that for a minimal charge. All in all, I give them 10 out of 10. I thought the price was right for the quality of service. Greg was also friendly as could be. You could tell he's a good guy all around. We are likely to sign up for a yearly maintenance plan to keep our place looking sharp. Agreed, not everything we do or need can be found locally but Dap r Dan is one of us. They provide window washing, pressure washing, and roof treatment services at fair competitive pricing. They pressure washed our house prior to having it painted two weeks ago and today they came back to wash our windows. Jacob is one of the most courteous, accomplished, and professional young men we have met. He took the time to explain what and how he would be completing his assignment; made every effort to assure the protection of our furniture and household items while cleaning the interior of the glass.
