We dropped the van off in the morning and by the afternoon, they notified us that the AC refrigerant levels were fixed and back to normal. Luis notified us of a few other optional concerns on the van and when I asked how urgent the timeline is if we wanted to delay these repairs, I genuinely appreciated his honesty because he helped us assess that the break repair was more pressing than the shocks. Knowing the impact of delaying these repairs is helpful to prioritize as customers. In terms of their prices, they were competitive with others too. I'm relieved we found a shop where we can trust the mechanics and we'll be back!

The steering wheel was not straight and the V was pulling hard to the right. I did a quick internet search and decided to pay a visit to Ledezma's Muffler and Alignment, and I'm glad I did. I grew up in the south bay and passed by their shop all the time, but this was my first visit. I was told they've been in business for 40+ years. Chris greeted me, took the V for an initial test drive and went to work. I enjoy working on cars and Chris brought me along every step of the way. He's super knowledgeable. He broke down the issues with the V and how he was going to fix them. He adjusted the alignment on the ol' AWD and suggested some of the other suspension parts I should think about replacing, which I appreciated. Now the V is driving as straight as an arrow. Ledezma's will be my go to spot for all alignment and suspension needs.

I asked for photos or video of the issue and the repair -- something any reputable shop should provide without hesitation. I was told it was in a "difficult position" and denied documentation entirely. I know cars. The high pressure pump on the N20 engine sits at the top left of the engine bay -- one of the most accessible components on that motor. There is no legitimate reason a phone camera couldn't document that repair. That excuse was not credible. The car ran less than 20 miles before the same symptoms returned. We then independently repaired two engine gaskets and a coolant pipe trying to isolate and fix the problem ourselves. Nothing resolved it. I eventually took the vehicle to BMW of El Cajon. Their smoke test immediately found a leaking crank case vent hose, damaged crank ventilation hose, a leaking air box boot, and a missing air box portion -- all directly related to the vacuum leak I originally brought here. Their repair cost me $1,039. I have both invoices. I have contacted BMW Tech directly with a formal demand for reimbursement. If no resolution is reached, I will be filing in San Diego Small Claims Court and submitting a complaint to the California Bureau of Automotive Repair. I am documenting everything. Do your research before trusting this shop with a diagnostic job.

Quoted me about $1,200 parts and labor, that also included a so called battery replacement that didn't need it but whatever. I was skeptical on their outcome after doing some research on my own, I then took it to a respectable, dependable BMW specialist. He showed me that the sensor had nothing to do with my issue. It was the control module that speaks to the main computer that directs air into the airbags, which is why the rear end wasn't sagging but lowered equally which put the car into a safe mode because it was damaged from some sort of moisture. Once installed the module was communicating freely and the shop was then able to set the ride height per specs. Careful when you call yourselves specialist when there is nothing special had I replaced and spent money in this shop just to not have the issue resolved. Waste of time having this shop diagnose my car. Do your homework people before taking your car to anyone, knowledge is key. Simple repairs I'm sure they rock but complex issues take it straight to a BMW specialist.

($40 and it took maybe 15-20 minutes) I came back wanting to get my stock resonator put back on. They quoted me $100. I told them that the last time I was here I got it removed for $40 and was surprised at the price jump. They said they could do it for $80, I wasn't super bothered and agreed on the price. I made sure to ask to see if lifting my car would be an issue since its pretty low. They said it'd be no problem. (there were two of them working on my car) I watched them move the arms to put them under each of the cars jack points and saw some contact issues on the rear drivers side jack point. (come contact with my side skirt) They tried lifting the car a little bit by the fender just to get the arm underneath the car. They were able to, but there was still a little of contact with the arm of the lift and the sideskirt. They attempted to lift the car and they heard a noise from the sideskirt and then put the car back down. There was some audible conversation before they got a jack to lift up the rear and put the lift arms underneath in a way that wouldn't touch the side skirt. (I have video footage on my dash cam of their conversation) I watched the whole thing happen. As usual, they made quick work to remove the exhaust piping and weld back the stock resonator. And when they brought the car back down I pointed out that they had damaged my car and one of the people that were working on my car looked at it and said it was nothing. There was a different person waiting inside for me to go pay, and when he noticed that I was still outside looking at the car he came out. I told him that they damaged my car and he also looked at it and brushed it off. I really just wanted someone to take accountibility for what had happened. But instead, I'm getting yelled at saying I'm going to pay for the work right now, to which I responded, "I never said I wasn't going to pay for it, but what are you going to do about the damage to my car?" He continued to say how they do this work everyday and they did not damage my car. I stated that I saw the whole thing happen and that I also have video recording on my car. He then said we also have video survailance here too. I then said that the the video survailance will show that they damaged my car. I don't understand how he can say they didn't damage my car when he wasn't there when they were working on my car. He spoke to me very rudely and unprofessionally while the whole time I spoke in a calm tone. I was really frustrated, but did not see this going anywhere as the guy was essentially gaslighting me by telling me they did not damage my car. I reluctantly paid the $80 and left. I plan on pursing legal action and getting an estimate from a professional, as this damage could cost at least a couple hundred dollars.
