By word of mouth, after trying several local repairmen, I got wind of "Shon" at Sound Town. He combed over the amp tooth and nail, and finally solved the problem for me, a problem that turned out to be not so much a broken component (my guess) as operator error, a change-over from an active to passive guitar, and the need for a suitable pre-amp to boost the signal . It took a lot of testing and reading of manuals and schematics, before Sean figured out what was going on. He went so far as to compare my sound-levels with those of other amps in the stores and he was quite patient and thorough in every regard. I made several trips to the store, and became acquainted with three key people there, all of whom were very nice, and I got a feeling for their special niche in the music world, which is the supplying of sound systems and various components, whether for rentals-out or for purchase. They keep a fair supply of guitar needs and are happy to order anything you might want at a fair price. Though Guitar Center and places like Kolacny's and Flesher-Hinton all have their place, I'll always begin by shopping here because of their patience and kindness. It is a special kind of store with special kind of people, and it always feels good to be patronizing a locally owned business of modest proportions. Bravo!

We ordered and paid for a NEW guitar. The center sent us a…read morefloor model with scratches and dents and charged us full price. I would think this wouldn't be allowed. I spoke to the customer service at headquarters- who was amazing - and said they consider floor models to be new instruments despite all the hands that have handled it, scratched and dents. I originally gave this 1 star but I changed to 3 star because customer service fixed the issue. They sent us a brand new guitar from the warehouse just as we had asked for in the first place. Be aware if you order and it's back ordered or not in stock at the time, you might get a floor model. Except for the back and forth and the hassle of having to return the instrument, I would still shop here.

So many people enjoying music and playing instruments. The selection of guitars and amps was off the hook. Drums, sheet music, accessories and everything in between. They even have areas for instrument repair and music lessons. Everyone seemed like they were happy and really enjoying being in the store. It's clearly a place people like to hang out. A social center of sorts. I liked the fact they had armed security in the parking lot and inside the front door. There simply can't be too much security these days. The parking lot was simple and wee maintained. The staff was friendly bordering on perky. Thumbs up for Guitar Center.

After doing my research, I decided to bring my violin to Allen from Kauai since Denver was one of…read morethe stops in my travels and I am so glad I did. I have a fairly old violin, model: copy of Stradivarius made in Germany, and had some damage when moving from California to Kauai possibly related to the drastic change in humidity. On arrival, Allen went over the whole violin and each area that needed to be addressed to restore full functionality. I was so impressed at how this process went and it reminded me of how a skilled physician might approach a patient and nail down each issue needing to be addressed. He laid out with total transparency the cost of each step that needed to be taken: Replacement of all the pegs which were old and one had broken, repair of a large crack in the body of the violin, repair of a small crack in the upper bout, replacing the soundpost, and to freshen things up changing out the chinrest and strings. Throughout the process he sent pictures and videos, then to top it all off he even imprinted this awesome design in the bridge which I just love and I feel really personalized my violin. After getting it, and trying it out so far I can say it sounds amazing and I am so pleased. It's clear Allen loves what he does and I am so grateful that I had the privilege of having Allen work on my instrument. I would fly out to Denver again if I ever had any issues without a doubt!
