Working with this guy and his "team" was nothing short of an amateurish disappointment. Meeting in June, 2024, the plan was to order 3 pallets of tall fescue sod, which he and his "team" would install for $3000. Not knowing anything about sod or the process, I trusted his judgement. July 12th, he brought 2 pallets of half-dead sod, which he assured me "just needed watering". He tried to charge me $400 for the 3rd pallet (that I already paid for), but after confronting him, he backed off and brought the 3rd pallet a few days later. They lazily laid the sod, applied fertilizer & fungicide, & went on their way. Even with watering 3x a day, the sod died in a month.... He contacts me in September, offering to aerate and overseed my lawn. I found that to be odd, considering my yard SHOULDNT need those services if his sod service was successful. Its as if he knew the half-dead sod he brought wouldn't stand a chance of survival and wanted to way to reach in my pockets again. I told him I wouldnt be using his services anymore, citing my dissatisfaction with his service. This prompted him to pay me an unannounced visit on Sept 12. He walked through the yard, checking his "work" to see my claims were valid. He texts me later that evening, offering to replace the sod in October as a "Christmas gift from Danny's Lawn Care"... Its safe to say, that day never came, and I never heard from him again. Expecting him to turn tail and run, I just decided to purchase some more sod from a reputable company and lay it myself, which I must say, looks amazing! Im proud to know that I did a better job than the "pro"... And in doing the work, it was made hilariously clear of all the short cuts Danny & his "team" took to do this job. In short; From start to finish, Danny just saw me as a quick pay day and tried multiple times to reach in my pockets. He charged me top dollar to then bring discounted, half-dead sod that he and his "team" would lazily lay, hoping to spin the block in a couple month for another quick pay day... read more

As a former client of Danny's I read the reviews before selecting him. I have no idea who wrote these reviews because I feel he was unethical, deceitful and dishonest. It is astonishing to me that anyone could have given him a 5 star review. He charged me for 7 pallets of sod, I got 4. Nothing was done in a timely fashion and the materials he used were sub par unless I ordered them and paid for it out of pocket even though the estimate for the work stated the amount of soil to be delivered and from which company. The bark mulch he tried to install was NOT the 12 yards of hardwood mulch---it was nasty, gray in color so it looked old and had bugs in it. I refused to allow it in my yard. I said I wanted him to use the triple hardwood mulch that I had always used from Sands and Soils and then he sends me this nasty, cheap looking dreck.e told me they were very backed up and couldn't deliver it. I called Sand and Soils myself the next morning and asked if they had a back log as Danny had told me. She said well, she could get it to me by lunchtime. I called at 9:30, it was delivered from Sand and Soils, exactly what I order two hours later. So, I felt he was lying to me with this yarn about how he couldn't order from them as they were so "backed up". Everything it's this guy is smoke and mirrors, untruth and excuses. Working with him was extremely frustrating. I had my kitchen and bathrooms COMPLETELY REMODELED in less time and with less aggravation that Danny provided just to re-sod and mulch my back yard. I served him notice this week that we cannot work together because I don't lie, cheat or steal and I don't tolerate those who do. read more

Danny and his team helped us and our new home go from grass too dry and overgrown to trim and green, like a nice haircut. They also kept our hedges and four trees healthy. Very pleased with the service. We started about a year ago (2017) with Danny & are so happy. Not only do he & his crew do a great job on the regular mowing & raking, but they make sure everything happens when it should (aireating, seeding, fertilizer, etc). All those things we never remember or got around to doing. In just one year we see a big improvement in our lawn. And what a treat this spending nice days just puttering in my flower beds or playing with the dog instead of raking wet winter leaves! They also pick up extras when we need - like mulch work. At a reasonable price. They are friendly & courteous and even work well with our dog & never complain when we forget to pick up the dog toys before they arrive to mow. We used Danny's lawncare for tree trimming services in Durham. His team was easy and professional all the way through. I left an initial voicemail and Danny returned my call within 24 hours. He made himself available to walk my property and understand my request. Using mostly text messaging for coordination, Danny was able to complete this property walk with just a few days to schedule. After helping us determine our needs, his pricing was very reasonable and scheduling the work was very easy. (1) low cost (2) high quality (3) and quick completion. The typical rule of thumb for working with contractors is you have to pick 2 of those choices because you can't get all 3. Danny has been doing regularly scheduled lawn maintenance for me for a couple months and my experience has been great. He's reasonably priced but more than that his crew does quality work and at times goes above and beyond the call of duty. Danny came to quote initial work on our new construction. His quote was reasonable and he said he could start right away. We agreed on starting the following week and paid upfront for topsoil. They arrived on Monday to do the work and finished leveling, seeding, and haying our yard in one day. He worked fast and we are pleased. We'll be happy when the grass comes in. This company has no respect for next door neighbor's property when blowing leaves and yard waste. After being asked not to blow leaves from lawn and driveway next door onto our yard, they continued to do so. Instead of picking up leaves and other waste, they simply use their strong blowers to move it so that neighbors have to do the removal. read more

Great care in doing my mother's and father's large lawn which is too much for them.

I , recently, used Danny's for leaf removal. My house is covered with trees and during the summers it is great for shade but in the fall, it's covered in leaves. I ,finally, decided to get a professional after a pitiful attempt at removal. I told them to move the leaves from front to the woods in back. Danny came to meet me and I requested front, side and behind the house. He quoted me $175.00 for removal. I thought that was reasonable and agreed. He came on the following Sat. and when I returned , the front and some of the side was done. I knew it was going to be an ambitious job. He returned on the following Monday. He started on the rear and managed to get almost all in the backyard. Due to the gates being locked , he had to hold till the next day to finish. Once done , I asked him for the price. He ,then, quoted $200.00. I thought his quote when up ,quickly. But I was so glad to get most of those leaves up, the extra $25 was a minor annoyance. I will use his services in the future but will get his quote in writing next time . read more
