I've been a patient here for nearly 10 years now and I only have positive things to say. I usually see Anya, who is wonderful, for my cleanings, but when I see other hygienists they do a great job. Dr. Salem is calm, kind, and skillful. They got my husband in quickly for an urgent need and Dr. Salem took great care of him and my husband hasn't had any issues since. Two stars for the overall cleanliness of the office, the friendliness of the front desk receptionist and the dental assistant's amiable character. Unfortunately, this was a strange experience through it all. Word of advice, always, check with your insurance over out of pocket costs. I came to this general dentist since they were in my network and needed my annual cleaning. Also, since I am undergoing orthodontic treatment, I needed four premolar tooth extractions. Dr. Salem told me that my out of pocket costs for all four extractions was $1,100. So, $275 per tooth, for extractions and bone graft. I left the office with the expectation that I was going to shell out the aforementioned amounts even after insurance. However, I felt that the amount was inflated. So, after calling my insurance, I learned that the contracted rate between Dr. Salem and Cigna HMO is $153 per tooth, for extraction and bone graft. So that's a $122 difference, or a 44% decrease (or surchage for not verifying with your insurance depending on how you see it). Whether or not Dr. Salem was acting in good faith, I don't know or don't care because a dentist should be someone you trust. The front desk person actually called me back immediately after I contacted my insurance who then contacted the office to verify the $1,100 they wanted to charge me. However, I never got a call from Dr. Salem to clear up any misunderstandings, if any. I am certain that this is a good general dentistry, but please, do yourself a favor and always, *always*, call your insurance before you pay for out of pocket expenses. read more

I have serious anxiety when it come to the dentist. I finally had a dentist that I loved and then had move to AZ. When we got here, my husband accidentally checked the wrong box for insurance, and I was assigned to this office. Turns out, out that being assigned to this office was a good thing! My Hubby is off the hook :) I have seen Dr. Salem and his staff a handful of times. The hygienist Aria is top notch. She is kind and intelligent, and I can tell that she is a wonderful person. The office staff feel like they have been working for the office a long time and care about their patients. It feels like a family-owned business. Everyone feels like they actually want to be there and like their job! That says a lot about how the place is ran. Dr. Salem is quite impressive. It is clear that he is intelligent and cares about his practice. He is hands on and an impeccable communicator. His confidence in his work goes a long way with me. He is confident in all of the right ways which makes me feel confident. I am still nervous, but this office seems to be able to handle it :) I have seen some reviews that have complaints about cost. Please keep in mind that dental work can be expensive. It is what it is. Ask questions to your insurance and provider and weight the pros and cons. Just know that you will absolutely get quality with Dr. Danny Salem and his office. It is a good investment in yourself, and this office will treat you with care. Pros: Office clean, hygienist good. Con;charged my insurance$375 for an unnecessary cone beam Xray only allowed every three years without my knowledge or consent. Need three crowns. I disputed estimate for this as he added on unnecessary procedures such as deep gum cleaning etc. At $600 more. I had already had that done elsewhere. While disputing estimate I noticed other staff on phone and office handling patients disputes on overcharges! BTW time spent on consult with doctor THREE MINUTES! I'm staying away! read more

Deep cleaning and more deep cleaning are his hard sell when not even needed, at a price that is higher then what is allow with insurance. Love this practice! We drive across town to see Dr. Salem and it's worth the drive! We struggled to find a dentist we could trust after our family dentist retired. After a few bad encounters, we were referred by a church friend to Dr. Salem. After our first visit, we knew we had found our new family dentist. Dr. Salem is very thorough and explains all of your options so that you can choose the best treatment plan. There is no pressure to do unneeded dental work. He is honest and respectful. He even helped us choose an orthodontist for our son, and has coordinated care with him since then. He has a wonderful team of hygienists and office staff as well. Making appointments has always been effortless, they offer appointment reminders and text confirmation which makes keeping your appointment simple! The hygienists are fantastic, especially Ania. I spoke to Dr. Salem about possible work needed. He answered my questions and more. There was an invitation to come by and see the offices for a nervous patient. Dr. Salem was very understanding of the situation and even said that if we went elsewhere and just wanted a second opinion before proceeding with another, that he would also be of service. It not just demonstrated his professionalism, but that he cares to work with his patients for what might be best period. If you know you need to see a dentist, perhaps evens just a consult, I say make an appointment and talk with this guy. read more

I found Dr. Salem after a string of bad dental experiences, and my first appointment was for a root canal another dentist had recommended. He was happy to schedule the root canal sight-unseen and just took a few minutes to confirm the diagnosis before he got started. I am one of those people who freak out at the dentist's office. I may not be in any pain and it's not a fear, it's just anxiety. Dr. Salem and the hygienist (whose name I have forgotten) were conscious to do whatever I needed to be as comfortable as possible. I have seen him again twice since the root canal, and the experience goes as well as I could hope a dental appointment could. I'll definitely continue to see him as my regular dentist. read more

Visited Dr.Salem's office today. I was pleasantly welcomed by the staff as I entered the premise. Dr.Salem was attentive during my whole visit and unlike previous experiences I have had in other offices, my time was not just spend dealing with assistants and hygienists. He took his time examining and consulting with me during my whole visit. I made some suggestions on some cosmetic work I was considering, and was immediately educated on the pro's and con's of the procedure. Our family chose Dr. Salem as our dentist in 2019. I needed a crown replaced, and after giving the office my insurance card, the office said my insurance wouldn't cover it and the cost was close to 1000.00, which I paid. I asked for a detailed estimation of costs and was told Dr. Salem didn't give them. MY BAD that I didn't check with my insurance, but later in the year I found out that my insurance did cover some of the cost. Many phone calls later with Dr. Salem, he told me that he would resubmit the claim. At that point I did get the estimation of costs, but it was written inaccurately to show charges that weren't consistent with the verbal explanation I received initially. My insurance NEVER received the claim from him. I would not recommend this dental practice to anyone. read more

I can not recommend this dentist. Unfriendly, short and absolutely no effort was made to establish a new patient relationship. On top of that he told me that I needed a deep cleaning, only did he not know that I used to work in the field for 11 yrs. I filed a complaint with my insurance company and after further investigation I ended up getting reimbursed. I've suffered from a major dental phobia for most of my life. This past weekend I cracked my tooth and was in terrible pain. I was referred to Dr. Salem's office and he actually called me himself on Sunday. He told me to come in yesterday at 5pm. I was very impressed before I ever got there. The receptionist was very friendly and the tech who took me back helped ease my nerves. They were able to extract my tooth in a manner of minutes! I have found the entire practice to be courteous, reliable, knowledgeable and professional in everything they do. On a number of occasions I've had an emergency come up. I called the office and each time I have been able to see Dr. Salem within hours on the same day. Working with Karen the OM has been terrific and the rest of the staff is awesome. Dr. Salem has been my dentist for close to 10 years. I started under his care while he still practiced in NY. Fortunately he moved to a state that I visit at least once a year, if not twice so he still takes care of my teeth. Dentists are not as easy to find a comfort level so this was welcome news to know I can still use him as my dentist. His Phx office didn't skip a beat. Cosmetically it was a major upgrade but from a stand point of cleanliness and state of the art (modern) dental technology, its as good as it gets and ever was. I've walked into offices where the x ray machine and the chair you sit in have not been upgraded let alone to instruments used in your mouth. Not so here. From a clean office stand point, that was never a concern. As a hygiene conscience person, the site of new tools with the plastic still on is comforting. Tells me I'm the first. His staff is always top notch. The dental hygienist is as professional and personable as they come. I look forward to seeing her as well. He's honest, work is as good a it gets (whitening, deep cleanings, and awkwardly chipped tooth the NY dentists had a hard to time with). Each service is explained prior to start so expectations are set. All insurance related stuff is handled by the office and explained to me before I leave or come back. When I was looking for a dentist I found Dr Salem to have great reviews that's why I chose him! To see these reviews now I don't understand Yelp??? I am the biggest chicken at the dentist and Dr Salem and his staff were great with me and made me feel so at ease! Their patience and expertise with my treatment has eased my anxiety tremendously. Dr Salem has never suggested any treatment that was not necessary in fact I found him very conservative. Beware of this dentist. He overcharges and double dips on insurance and possibly suggests procedures that are not needed, such as deep cleanings so he can charge the insurance. I was a loyal customer for a few years, driving from Central Phoenix because I trusted him. After both my husband and I were each charged $800 for a crown, not knowing then that our insurance covered it 100%. Once we called to ask for a refund nothing was done and we had to get the insurance company involved. Apparently, Dr. Salem didn't agree with the amount they covered so instead of dealing with the insurance on it, he decided to rip off two loyal customers. I have never had an experience like this and I am very disappointed and hurt by it. My poor husband is terrified of the dentist and now that he has had this experience, he will be very hesitant to go again. Yes, almost a year after the fact, we were both reimbursed but only after countless calls and complaints. I have a new dentist now and have already had a few procedures that were 100% covered. My husband and I recently visited Dr. Salem's office and had a wonderful experience. The dentist is far from our favorite place to spend time at, but Dr. Salem and his staff really made it as great of an experience as possible. We both had cleanings and my husband had some cavities removed and filled. My husband had to have a deep cleaning done and his mouth was numbed. Dr. Salem and the dental hygienist (Anya) were both very comforting and took their time to make sure he was comfortable during this process. My experience with Dr. Salem has always been good and my latest visit was a week ago after a negative experience with Crossroads Dental in Chandler. Dr. Salem was my dentist up until a year ago when I changed dentists only due to my moving and convenience. After my experience with Crossroads the distance didn't matter. The work he's done on my teeth was professionally done and I've been very happy with his services. Obviously, every doctor's or dentist's billing should be a concern of any patient and due diligence should be made to be sure they are not double dipping or overcharging you. Those are situations that should be easily handled. But a good dentist is really hard to find and when you have one that knows what he's doing and does it well, for me that takes priority. Crossroads Dental refused to give me antibiotics for an inflamed tooth I wanted to save. They wanted to pull the tooth because it would be more money for them in the long run as I would need either a bridge or implants in order to chew. Dr. Salem x-rayed the tooth, said there is some bone loss but said he's all for anybody trying to save their teeth and gave me the prescription I needed. Now the inflammation is gone and I still have my tooth! read more

I had a bad experience with danny salem. I went there for a root canal and he never informed me that I needed a crown to protect my tooth and my tooth fractured and had to be pulled. To begin with I asked him how much it would be for a root canal. He said it would be $1000.00 when he was done with the root canal, he said that it would be $75.00 more for the medication and that it would be another $200.00 for the crown. I told him you just don't stop adding to the bill. He never once mentioned that I needed a crown. I told him that I was not going to give him anymore money. After a flat fee he just kept adding. That was in December of 2011. On October of 20012 I felt pain on the tooth he did the root canal. I called him and told him I had pain on the tooth. He had me come in the next monday. He x-rayed and said the tooth was fractured and needed to be pulled and that he knew it would fracture because it didn't have a crown. I told him "Why didn't you advise me that it would fracture without a crown"?I would of given you the $200.00 for the crown and that at my age (61) I can't afford to lose any teeth. He said for whatever reason. I had to go to another dentist to have it pulled because I had alot of pain. I filed a malpractice on him. when he got served he called me and wanted to talk about it and him do the brigde. But I decided I should not trust him again with my teeth because if I did I would be wearing dentures before my time. He filed a respones to my suit and lied big time. I would not recommend this want to be dentist to no body. The American Dental Association states that dentists should inform the patient of the treatment which he chose not to follow. And the way he kept adding to the bill is unbelievable. read more
