Pizza review: 14" "Tavern-style" pies are served here so ordered the "Cheese" ($25, grass-fed mozzarella, fior di latte) and was told they are automatically served "well-done." Price a bit on higher side for a 14." Was unfamiliar with "Tavern-style" but it seems to be very thin, with no bare dough on outer edges (toppings are fully covering the outer edges), and since it is a smaller pie, the outer edges are not over-cooked compared to the rest of the pizza. Dough noticeabley thin, but not like at all like a crispy cracker or pita. Minutely airy, but malleable/pliable . Great contrast between soft centre and crisp outer half. Toppings weren't "over-done" on the outer edges. The dough's thinness helped bring out the nuances of the cheese flavours atop the dough, but again, it was still minutely airy and not dense. Great aged cheese flavour with noticeable rich savoury taste, moreso in the inner-half. Tomato sauce not noticeable as it melded with cheese throughly, and was very faint, but slight smokey and sweet hints, that overall just barely balances out savouriness of cheese. Great char flavour, and it was greasy in a good way, to help not dry out the smallish thin pie quickly, even as it got colder. For $2 more, you could get the 16" NY "Cheese" pie from Pizzeria Libretto, or the 18" "NY Cheese" pie from North Of Brooklyn; or for $3 less, get the superb 16" "Margherita" pie from Pizzeria Fornace. So for value, DPT is not the ideal place. Great pie, with value not so great. Overall a must-try, if only to experience a superbly executed "Tavern-style" pizza in the Toronto area.

Went here for the vibes and hoping to get decent pizza. The food was just not worth it. Our pizza came out burnt on one side and kinda of cold. We did see other tables get the same pizza with stringy cheese and ours was just not the same. Service was good. Our server checked on us often and was friendly.

Well tonight was a night I got to find a spot to eat without the worry of getting consensus, I done on my own after helping a senior friend of mine with decluttering - so I chose to try a place I knew nothing about - I didn't even look at reviews to see the menu, so I got a seat at the bar, (best place to sit in my opinion. I ordered the Caesar and a pepperoni pizza The portions are meant to share but that did not deter me The Caesar salad was authentically delicious, perfect amount of dressing, (unexpected but delicious anchovy) . My Pizza was huge- thin crusted and outstanding fresh flavour - the pizza is cut for a group to share and I managed a 1/4 of the pizza before I was full. The bartender had some mad skills at mixing drinks, and the space was busy, and I liked the views of the kitchen, and will certainly be back!

The pepperoni pie was really good and we tried a limit edition pie called baked potato pie it was just okay! The restaurant ambiance is dark and intimate. It was busy on a thursday night but I just walked in. The service was effective and the waiter checked up on us often

My buddy suggested we go here, good reviews and can't say no to pizza. I consider myself someone who takes their pizza pretty seriously so expectations were high given the hype. Started with the mozzarella sticks and they tasted like what you get from a frozen box of PC branded ones. Pizza was mid at best. I found the pizza to be burnt. Don't bother with the side sauce, we got hot honey and garlic which were also lacklustre. Wish I could give a better review but service wasn't anything special either. Don't think the server checked in with us at all. Tables are way too small. An order of mozzarella sticks and a pizza was 50 bucks, didn't even have a drink. Had to hit another spot after and got some more food

We chose this place for a casual dinner in Toronto after a long time away. Since I had plans to visit another restaurant later, we kept it light and shared the Mushroom Pizza and Mozzarella Sticks. Honestly, I didn't expect the food to be this good! The Mozzarella Sticks were packed with perfectly firm yet soft, and flavorful mozzarella. The crispy coating complemented the cheese beautifully, and I wouldn't have minded eating all four myself as it was that good. Next came the Mushroom Pizza, which, to my surprise, was probably the best mushroom pizza I've had in this city by far. The flavor and texture of the mushrooms were spot-on, and the pizza dough had just the right thickness, balancing out the toppings without getting soggy, even as it sat for a while. The only downside was the service. The restaurant was quite busy, and while it's great to see so many people recognizing the quality of the food, it was clear that the staff were overwhelmed. It took nearly 30 minutes for the pizza to arrive, and calling over a server was a challenge. However, the pizza was so delicious, we finished it in under five minutes! If they could work out the service issues, this would be a perfect place to visit anytime.

Danny's was a must visit place on my list. I've heard of this place several times and couldn't wait to go with some friends. We ordered drinks and the mozzarella sticks, pepperoni and margarita pizzas. The mozzarella sticks were sooooo cheesy. The pizza crusts were a little charred for my liking but overall everything was super delicious. We will definitely be going back

Late dinner with some friends. This place was small and packed for a Thursday night. With barely enough room to move around in these beautiful pies are being served all over the place from classic pepperoni to clam pizza. Nice small wine selection Great salads And some other options if you dont want pizza. Pizzas are thin crunchy and worth coming here for a pie. Recommend

Mozzarella sticks

We ordered the mushroom pizza and the mozzarella sticks. They were both amazing, great tavern pizza did not require a dip and the mozzarella sticks were crispy in the out and the cheese was soft, I would give this place 5 stars for the food and the vibe and service. However, disappointed by my drink I got a cocktail of was just some pineapple juice with two cherries for $13, so maybe I will get a simple lemonade next time. Still worth a visit!

Went to Danny's Pizza Tavern on Saturday evening of the civic long weekend. Arrived around 4:30. They were quite busy but had couple of tables available. The tables are quite small outside and it is a small space inside. The decor inside is very chic. We ordered two appetizers, a beverage and the pepperoni pizza. The staff were very attentive and friendly. We got the garlic bread and cheese sticks with marinara. They were to die for. The pizza is a thin crust pizza loaded with pepperoni and surprisingly the pizza crust was still crispy and delicious. The size was perfect for two to share. I think this place is definitely now one of my favourite pizza restaurants in the city. Cannot wait to go back and try the other pizzas on the menu. If you are going making reservations is highly recommended.

This bottle shop has a unique variety of natural, organic, and biodynamic wines that may rotate depending on the season. The space also has a wine bar where you can try different wines by the glass or treat yourself in a wine flight or a whole bottle. The by the glass menu changes weekly where you get to have a chance to try new and exciting wines from different regions. I've been to Grape Witches several times but I was able to sit down at their wine bar this time and enjoy a wine flight (three 1oz pours featuring wines from Germany) and a glass of wine. Having the wine flight, I was able to find a new rose that I really enjoyed that I ended up getting a glass of it afterwards. Staff are extremely friendly, personable, and knowledgeable about wine where they can give you suggestions based on your preferences without being pretentious. You are also able to taste any wines you're interested in on the menu to see if you like them as well. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Grape Witches enjoying the delicious selections where I even found new favourites. Overall, a great new wine shop and bar at Waterworks Food Hall. If you love all things wine this is the place to go. They have unique bottles you can purchase and friendly staff to help you with selecting your wines. Will definitely be back to try other glasses of wine in the future!

We arrived around 3:30 pm when it was fairly occupied; they feature 'Happy Sour Hour' from 4 to 7 pm, during which all of their sour beers are reduced in price to $7.00. We ordered and shared two beers, the first a lager, the second a sour beer in order to take advantage of the discounted price. The venue is long and narrow, with two floors and a distinctive looking back patio. Our service was fairly prompt and they are located in a quite convenient location, literally across the street from the subway and the historic, flagship LCBO location. So I can recommend a visit if you're in the area and desire a drink and/or snack.

This must be the place!…read more Our first trip to Toronto and boy did we have fun. From delicious food to sipping wine, and everything in between, Toronto was a city to explore. Ladybug Wine Bar is a cute but also sophisticated wine bar located on King Street, steps away from shopping and restaurants. We stopped in here on a snowy Sunday before our flight home. They also serve Sunday Brunch. We grabbed a few open seats at the comfy bar. They do not offer wine flights, which made this experience pretty darn expensive but SOOOO worth it. We had such a fun time and the people working were so nice, we honeslty did not want to leave. They were willing to help with our selections. We actually ordered all their Reds by the glass. I know, but there were only about 6 and we had to try them all. I like to say "go big or go home" LOL! We loved almost all except for maybe a few. We ended up also ordering a charcuterie while we sip. And of course I brought a bottle home with me. If you are ever in Toronto, please check out Ladybug wine bar, it is fantastic, you won't want to leave. Cheers!

A Hidden Gem for Brunch!!…read more I came here with 3 of my girlies that love brunch. Everything we ordered was fresh, light, and absolutely delicious. We started with some drinks which were super affordable compared to other brunch places. The espresso martinis weren't too sweet and had the perfect balance. As for the dishes the standout for me was the smoked salmon toast. The combination of the eggs, fresh dill, and sliced salmon on top of toast was so yummy. Service was nice and the place was cozy/bright. Highly recommend this spot for a girls' brunch or casual date.

This is a wine bar - the house lager was bad (maybe my own bad decision) and the red I got was fine ... nothing to write home about. However place fell apart with the food - the shrimp came with 5 medium sized shrimp with the tails, legs and shells on and were under seasoned. The artichokes were mediocre (loved the sauce they came with). Worst of all was the "Ontario peaches" with the burrata were totally canned peaches - could've even been dole brand! This place has amazing potential with the location and vibe - but the food just was not it. Small portions and the price didn't match what was served. The service was friendly but nothing too crazy. The combination of the peach and mint went really well with the burrata. Light and easy to eat. The patio at night is one of the highlights. The only small complaint was it did take a while to get our wine after we ordered it and a little while to get our check. Otherwise cute spot.

They have some non-alcoholic beers too which is nice. Inside has that cool vintage hipster Berlin feel to it. No cover, no lineups, just a nice local neighbourhood bar near the bridge and a bunch of other autoshops. Was walking back from an art gallery and we just literally stumbled upon it and sat down for a catch up drink. I feel like Toronto needs more places like this. Quiet neighborhood bars with a nice selection of music, quality cocktails, not too expensive, no lines ups. Nice slightly mature place for people to catch up and have a drink without having to venture heavily into the Dundas West bar scene where it's way more hectic. Probably fits like 20 people so it's nice and intimate. Kind of reminds me of some of the bottle shops in Montreal where you can either drink it there and vibe or take it to the park right next to it. Place has some character to it. Would like to see it have a good solid run in Toronto's independent bar scene and be supported by the neighborhood. Next time I'm back I'll try out the cocktail menu and see if that's fire too.
