Their workspace was always clean and thoughtful for our pets and family to traverse to and from the house while they worked on the project. And most importantly, the finished gate and fences were clean, high quality and polished... and better than we imagined! Our second project we just finished this past month was our deck (and roofing as our garage sits underneath our deck). They replaced our leaky wooden deck with new beams, proofing/coating, tiles this time (the whole nine) and it is perfect- complete with polished iron, a side gate to match our existing gates/aesthetic and touch ups where needed. Tal was very transpararent from the beginning and made us aware of the pros and cons for every material and promptly finished the whole project within two weeks. This contractor is well reviewed with an impressive portfolio and highly qualified - BUT.. as soon as we discussed issues around the city permitting requirements, it quickly went south. From citing delays, potential added costs, etc. which is understandable. HOWEVER, we were able to acquire a simple "over the counter" permit from RPV which did not require submitting any plans, details, product specs, etc. since it was simply replacing current -- existing composite boards. After advising him of such, we get a request to meet and being told, he could no longer do the job due to a worker injury. While it may be the case, it just seemed TOO coincidental that this happens immediately upon my sending a text advising of the permitting. SOOO I guess the lesson learned from this case is if even licensed contractors express hesitations or push back about permitting.. STAY AWAY from them. Now we have to start the painful task of interviewing contractors and bids again.. THANKS FOR NOTHING iDeck!!!!

I previously had read great reviews about All California Fencing on Yelp and saved the contact. I got estimates from 2 different companies. Harry from ACF met with us and explained everything about the installation, and they were able to accommodate our schedule by installing it within a couple weeks. We especially liked that he recommended a color that would blend in with our red barn. My parents had previously used the other company to install the front fences and gates, so we thought we'd use them again, especially as they promised us a discount for being a previous customer. But their estimate was still $10,000 more than the one provided by Harry! All California Fencing is the way to go, and we would never go anywhere else.

Naturally the deck is old and some places are not 100% but it beats spending $10k to re build the whole deck. We were looking to make it a bit more contemporary. With Pearl's help we designed a modern structure covered with stucco and some wood work on top of it for some contrast. This required an actual plan submitted to the city believe it or not but I guess they have to do for the building permit process. It took some time but eventually we got approved. We went with an Ipe deck for the floors, no stain was added, just a clear coat for protection. The result is amazing! They have exceeded our expectation. From the very beginning they were on time, kept us informed on the permit process and everything. As in every project I'm sure we have minor delays but I rather wait and get better results than finish fast and then feel sorry for not perfecting the project or making mistakes
