I called Dankat and a rude guy that answered was very condescending in his questions and answers. I asked if they had a white aluminum sheet with texture on to make a water heater access door out of. I think this was very clear - white aluminum sheet with texture on to make a water heater access door out of.... The guy again was rude with his answer, but he said he did have a 4x8 white sheet of the aluminum with texture. ok, cool! I told him I would come down and get one. The guy said the price was $72.00 for the white aluminum textured sheet. Ok, I wanted one. I drove down from Brea. 35 miles. Once I got to the Dankat office in Ontario, the guy at the desk seemed to be the same rude guy I had talked to on the phone. This guy was busy so I patiently waited until he was done with whatever he was doing. Once the guy was done walking around and complaining about something I told him I called and needed a white aluminum sheet with texture that he said he had. This guy walked over to an area with all kinds of siding and he said he was out. Really??? Was this guy kidding??? Why would you tell someone that you had it on the phone??? I bet this loser did not even go look when I called. Another guy that worked here came up and said he had one left. After digging thru a pile of siding they brought down a bent sheet of metal, not aluminum... WTF???!!! Was I not clear???!!! Maybe the guy had a hearing, comprehension, or understanding issue somehow.. I think he understood English, he seemed to talk English properly with his crappy outlook on customers. I told him I needed to make a water heater access door out of the sheet. I showed him a door near where we were with the proper aluminum I was looking for. He said this was all he had and he did not have any material to make a door I showed him. This guy had such a bad attitude and sour outlook on customers... I do not know how this place stays in business. I can't believe the treatment I received from this shallow person. I will not be returning or telling anyone about this place due to the rude treatment I was so fortunate to the brunt of. Note to this scumbag working at Dankat.... Just a bit of common courtesy to customers goes a long way!! To have such a crappy outlook towards customers should not be tolerated by anyone or any business.. This place is awesome. Don't listen to all the negative reviews. Those people probably have a patio from 1950 and are upset they can't find a part for it. This place pretty much has everything you can ask for when it comes to mobile home parts. If what you have is older, they will do their best to find that same part or something equivalent. The owner Ray, of Dankat is lying through his teeth about everything. I did speak directly to him, after I heard him screaming, while talking to Diego, about the Receipt, I never received. HE NEVER EVEN BROUGHT UP WEARING A MASK TO ME NOR DID I COME CLOSE TO HIM THAT DAY , as I was so sick. I did not even want him to come that day, because I was so sick! I stood on the porch that day, far away from him and asked 2 questions, only to be scolded and screamed at once again like I was an animal. As a paying customer, I had the right to ask any question, about the job being done. After he screamed at me on the phone, the day I called and asked him for a receipt, he called me from his Private Cell phone, the next day, to try and be un-recognizable and started in again on me, trying to intimidate me more. Thank God my friend and neighbor, heard all of the conversation and she were so upset and shocked, the way this man was treating and talking to me. I just hung up as I was shaking so bad. I am grieving my husband and it is so hard to comprehend, that there are people like this man, who have absolutely no respect, especially with a vulnerable woman. As an owner of his business, for 44 years, he should of came prepared with a receipt, the day the job was done. I should of not even had to call him and ask for it. No one, at any time, needs to be subjected to such treatment. I have so much on my plate, since the death of my husband, I did not even realize I still needed a receipt and dreaded calling this man , knowing what his reaction would be. That is why I had a family member listen, to witness how he treats women. God knows my heart and knows what really transpired and that is all that matters. I amJust so grateful that, I will Never have to deal with Dankat again, or the owner Ray. I feel so sorry for Diego......as he seems to be a very nice man, caught in the middle, probably needing his job. Ray, many people are praying for you, because you definitely need prayer! I called about vinyl skirting. I gave the exact measurements over the phone and was quoted just under $800. I borrowed a truck and drove 60 miles to get there. When I arrived the next day I was given a total of $1206 along with lame excuses and funny math. The man who gave me the quote the day before wasnt available (how convenient) i was lied to. It's the old bait and switch. I shouldve turned around and left then and there. I couldve got something more substantial than vinyl for that price. I usually buy products from Dankat,the previous associate was not there,the owner was the one that was going to charge me ,let me start by saying he walks out his office doesn't acknowledge that I am a paying customer,was very rude and started yelling over 2 trims that the other associate had charged me a week before , for a less pricing,I told him I paid less a week before why is he charging me double,he asked to see the receipt but it was at home,I asked are you going to match the price I can have my daughter send me a picture of the reciept,he said No I just want to see who made the mistake in charging you less,it continued to him showing me the book on the pricing which was fine but I'm not going bother with the receipt if he is not going to honor the price which is ok,he was not happy with the answer,then he started screaming and was very argumentive in front of a lady customer and her 2 elderly parents,I was surprised that he was the owner yelling and throwing his pricing book on his desk so hard in the way he did was uncalled for,with this guy yelling from the top of his lungs he scared the customers away. I felt he was being very prejudice towards me,and I also wanted to add,after all the yelling he wanted me to take the 2 trims and how he put it was" Get out of his store!"also told his worker the same to get me out all because of the discrepancy of the pricing of the trims I would have sent the receipt,but he continued to behave in a rude manner and said my money was dirty money, ,not very professional in his part,just because it's his store doesn't mean he should be rude to customers especially when we are bringing in money to support small businesses. Ron was very helpful and informative for a 1st Timer visiting the Mobile Home Valhalla that is Dankat. I came with questions and left with the right Parts and printed instructions for a small window awning as well as a new understanding of how best to support lattice in wrapping Mobile Home porches and carports for light and heat protection.
