We were excited to try this restaurant after reading about the concept. Incorporating locally grown items such as dates was intriguing. The amuse bouche with the date compote was delicious and the wine selection was excellent. However there were a few challenges: - a very light wine pour (4 oz) per glass - a long delay receiving appetizers and salads - two of the four entrees were not properly prepared (one under cooked and one over cooked) After waiting almost an hour the server confessed that the chef was missing his sous chef. No offer to comp the meal. It was a painful three hours. It would have been better to share this information up front and pare down the menu to make the meal more pleasant. The smell from the smoked food and the green egg in the corner was overpowering when we first entered the restaurant. We had to shower when we got home. Bonne chance. read more

This was a really great dining experience. It's like having your own private chef. The service is top notch. The food is fantastic and so unique. A couple of the dishes with dates incorporated in were so nice as we don't see that much where we're from. One thing very apparent is the great pride the chef has in his restaurant. The staff is obviously well trained and our view of the kitchen showed Chef Daniel teaching and demonstrating to his sous chef. I thought that was a nice touch. We could see when they were preparing our braised short rib entree which was pretty cool. First time customers, was everything we heard about this place and more. Even though it's in a strip mall, once inside the ambiance is very nice. Service was great, very attentive but not over bearing. The food was excellent! For appetizers we had the mushroom cassoulet served in a small cast iron skillet and wild boar assuage also served in a cast iron skillet. I also had a very authentic ceaser salad. Another amazing dinner at Daniel's table. We deeply appreciate having this unbelievably high quality restaurant in this area. Chef Daniel's creations are very sophisticated but wild at the same time. Each ingredients are the freshest and having full flavor. He cares even small garnishes how he cuts and cooks. We had duck sausage and manchego cheese platter (2 different kinds of fresh figs enhanced both flavor), and our favorite micro green salad. Micro green is live and just cut. Seasonal fruits and feta dressing add light sweetness and tart flavor, perfectly match to greens. Main course, we chose Pork shank, super tender packed flavor. We deeply admire his dedication. We visited several times, but every time, we find something we never had and new flavor marriage in each dish. The only thing i would avoid is the duck salami. The service impeccable (I did notice the waitress was a bit over friendly, but I'm the type that likes to be left alone to enjoy the meal and the company of the person I'm with). This is an upscale fine dining establishment that is a foodie's delight. The owner Daniel sources local farms for organic ingredients and cooks everything over wood fires. Everything was fresh and perfectly prepared to order. We had the pork belly and arugula salad for appetizers. My wife who usually is not a pork fan raves about the pork belly. And you can usually tell that you're in a five star place when the salad is perfectly dressed and the flavors perfectly balanced. For entrees we had the bison ribs, the cod, and the scallops. We waited a hour and a half for our first course then another hour for the meal.. my crab cakes were the size of a 50 cent piece. My husbands was burnt and tasted like smoke. His was 54 dollars. No bread served. We ate in 10 minutes.. 3 1/2 hours we will never get back. We were a large party of 14 but they had a week to prepare for us. The quality of food was not good. We came here not knowing what to expect and were treated with an amazing food experience. We ate the rack of lamb and the duck confit. Both were immaculately cooked to perfection. The lamb was a beautiful, tender medium rare. The duck had crispy skin and the meat was very tender. Let's start with the entire staff refusing to wear masks during COVID, continue onto the poorly cooked food, perhaps touch on the expensive pricing (I have no problem with paying alot for good food but not for the dog food they serve here), mention that they only have beer and wine and conclude with the extraordinarily poor service. Dates stuffed with goat cheese were a nice shared starter but the real heroes were the mains: bison ribs for me, scallops for my wife--both absolutely superb! Flourless chocolate and strawberry cakes were totally decadent, a terrific finish to a wonderful meal. One small nit to pick: service was attentive and professional but 45 minute gap after starter arrived seemed a bit long given that we were the first ticket, but that's kinda understandable considering the technical elements of the dishes. Service was great, super friendly and informative as the menu changes daily with what's freshest. The service was incredible! Daniel literally cooks the food to order so depending on how busy it is the food takes a slightly bit longer to come out. We did however have a party of 8 so that was to be expected. The food came out hot, fresh and so good make me wanna slap my mama!! Seriously one of the best meals I've ever had, top to bottom. He gave us some complimentary baklava that again topped all others I've had. Daniel and crew, my hats off to you! Absolutely unbelievable!!! Oh I cannot believe what just happened with the interaction with the owner at this restaurant! We made a reservation for a large party. The owner did call to confirm the same day in which we did confirm that we planned on observing our reservation. Something came up and we were unable to honor our reservation and so we canceled through open table approximately an hour and a half to two hours prior to our reservation time. The owner had the gall to call me up and leave me a voice message letting me know how he was not pleased at all with us. "Chef Daniel" concluded his call with " wanted to let you know I wasn't very pleased, just wanted to let you know." -thank you Chef Daniel for letting me know your displeasure with us. You just lost a customer actually, many customers!!! I have never experienced this sort of thing. This is completely bizarre behavior from a restaurant, yet alone a restaurant owner. The voice message was very reprimanding. He has no idea the reason we needed to cancel. Which is a very valid one by the way. Needless to say, we will never ever give this dining establishment our business ever!!! Absolutely unbelievably rude and insensitive behavior from this business owner. Very selfish narcissist!!! From the time I called for a reservation to our departure from the restaurant was perfection. Chef's interpretation of Mediterranean in the farm to table style is flawlessly executed. My party was 6+ so I tried nearly everything on the menu. The farm fresh fold green salad was to die for. I've never had feta fast so good. My brother had the Caesar featuring egg which he couldn't get enough of. All vegetables were cooked to perfection and the entrees were equally as impressive as the starts. Our server Bruce was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. His passion for Chef Daniel's vision was nearly as strong as Chef's I went for my birthday with my family and he cut a special plate of fruit for my 9mo old to keep him happy and occupied. This restaurant was amazing. I am a vegetarian. The chef made me something amazing that wasn't on the menu. It was a vegetable dish cooked in a way that I can't quite explain. Chef Daniel is truly an artist. My wife and I have been fans of his since he opened his previous restaurant - Balisage Bistro - and we were so happy to hear that he opened this one. What makes this restaurant - and Chef Daniel - so great? 1) Super fresh farm to table ingredients. We literally saw them cut greens from the stem for our salad. Bruce, the well-informed waiter, told us that Chef Daniel regularly goes as far away as Bakersfield and San Pedro and picks out only the best ingredients for his dishes. 2) You can see the passion he has to create an incredibly great experience. Each dish is meticulously plated to perfection. He also has a knack for mixing flavors that you wouldn't normally think of mixing together, yet they come out wonderfully. 3) Chef Daniel, his wife, and the staff are the nicest people in the world. They really make you feel like one of the family. I know that term gets tossed around a lot, but in this case it is the truth. Chef Daniel himself routinely comes out of the kitchen to talk to the patrons and he makes sure everything is perfect. His wife and the staff will also take the time and make sure you are enjoying yourself. You can tell that the whole staff really cares about each and every person that walks through the door.
