Last week I called another service. They came out, looked everything over and found one head that needed to be replaced. Easy, quick, and cheap. TIS, sorry guys, I'll not be calling you again.

After trying to coax our very temperamental sprinkler system into working for nearly 2 months, we…read morefinally relented and called for a repair. An initial call to the company that did the installation over 20 years ago revealed that they no longer serviced sprinkler systems. They did, however, refer us to Jamie Hill of Turf Irrigation, stating that he was who they were referring all of their sprinkler repairs to. What a find! Jamie came out several days after my call to him to determine what was causing the sprinkler to sometimes work and at other times do absolutely nothing. He was very up front in stating that he does charge a $95 flat one-hour minimum fee for work; no trip charge would be assessed and that most jobs can be completed in one hour. He was absolutely right. As stated, this is most likely a 22+ year old Hunter system with the original digital control box. I could no longer set the current date to any year after 2008, so that proved pretty comical every time the power went out and I'd have to guess what year our current calendar corresponded to prior to 2008 (not so easy during leap years!). I had an inkling that the control box was the issue. Jamie confirmed what I thought; a new control box was installed along with a new rain sensor (the old one never really did work and I can often remember the sprinkler going off during a heavy rainstorm). Several malfunctioning sprinkler heads were also replaced (we were informed of the issues and asked if we wanted to have that done while he was here; we agreed). Prices were extremely reasonable and a detailed explanation was given on precisely how to use and set the new control box. Total bill was for the new parts, the $95 one-hour fee and tax on the parts. The entire system was checked and adjusted multiple times prior to Jamie leaving the premises, and he insured we had no questions or concerns before he left, too. I grabbed his card because now I know exactly who I'll call when I need a sprinkler repair in the future. A thorough, honest and competent independent business is one I like to support. No need to call my original installer any more - Jamie's my guy from now on!

Please contact me or Jeff asap- you told us you were sick last week so we gave you space and did not call until today, only to be surprised that your #s are not working anymore. You have our deposit and we are still hopeful that perhaps there are some things going on with you in the background that's causing the delay in response, but hoping that you are an honest business man and will get back with us. Please call us ASAP. 6/25/25: This is an update to my attempt to reach out to Michael Lyon (if that's even his real name) on this site. Michael never responded. Again, (@michaelLyon) I am happy to remove these messages if you get back with us, refund our deposit, and basically make this right. At this time, Michael (an older, Caucasian man, possibly around his 60s, rather short in stature-- maybe 5'5?), sent us a contract that we agreed on (although he would not allow credit card pymt, despite that his contract stated it was an option), then after reaching out to tell us he has pneumonia (to which we left him alone for several days so he may recuperate), we have not been able to reach him by phone, text, email, or even sending messages on Yelp or Google, since. He seems to have disappeared with our deposit and now, his phone numbers are disconnected. Unless we hear from him and he resolves this, BEWARE!! MICHAEL LYON at this time is proving himself to be a scammer!

Moses told us he used to work for the contractor that left us hanging with the issues above but he had started his own company after only a short period in the business which explains a lot about this company. When they sent the quote to us they were charging $295 to repair a valve that costs $75 to buy new. They had labor on top of the valve repair itself, and a second charge for labor for the water leak. Which the total costs for the quote were $900. Sad thing about this is a competitor quoted us $300 to fix this and they ended up getting it repaired for the $300. This installers lack of experience in the industry show not only in pricing but in how he has communicated with. Won't be calling back.
