Summer of 2023 I was in Chicago for a conference. I had purchased several suits from Knot Standard…read morein New York City previously. I thought I would treat myself and go to their showroom in Chicago. I was measured by Elias, a nice young guy. I spent a couple of thousand dollars, and the suits arrived a couple of months later. I tried on the jackets and realized that they fit poorly. The collars sat off of my neck by nearly a half an inch. This jacket fit like a cheap store bought suit without any tailoring. Far from a made to measure suit that I paid nearly $1000 for, and I bought two. I reached out to Elias immediately to express my extreme dissatisfaction. Communication with Elias was very spotty and I had to repeatedly reach out to him. He finally agreed to remake the jackets. I insisted that the measurement was off, but he said it was not. After a few more months, and many phone calls and text messages, where I was unable to reach him, the newly made jackets arrived. They fit exactly the same with the large, cheap suit, gap off the back of my neck. I've worn one of them a couple of times, but I get mad every time I put it on. Today I put on the other one to see that huge gap looking at me from the mirror. I paid a couple of thousand dollars for two suits , and they fit like crap. I will never do business with Knot Standard again. I have literally spent thousands of dollars with them over the years, no more. I cannot wear these suits. They fit like crap and they make me angry every time I put them on and think of the money I wasted. I'm going to donate them to Goodwill next week.

A few years ago I had a severe bicycle accident that left one shoulder disfigured and atrophied. After I spent half as much as the purchase price altering an off-the-rack jacket to try to get a reasonable fit, I decided to give this fit challenge to a custom suit maker. I chose Daniel based on all the excellent Yelp! reviews. He explained how he could build a jacket that would make my shoulders look much more even with a very small pad and custom dimensions over the bad shoulder. He then took the time to understand my taste and needs in clothes, which, being a senior partner at a major Chicago law firm, tended toward the conservative. He showed me a variety of appropriate fabrics and steered me toward fabrics that would stand up to constant use, which happened to be in the lower end of his price spectrum. He also laid out a plan for a couple more suits and jackets to round out the wardrobe. I was simply stunned when the suit came in--the shoulders fit perfectly, with no crease or fold over the smaller shoulder. As I recall the jacket needed a tweak to the sleeves, but otherwise the suit fit perfectly. Since then I have added another suit, two sport coats and a pair of dress pants, all of which fit exactly right and as important, are wearing like iron. With the sport coats, Daniel gently encouraged me to be a touch more expressive in my fabric selections, and his advice has been terrific. Instead of a Brooks Bros. clone for a navy blazer, he found a fabric that was a bit more toward royal blue than deep navy, and had a bit more texture. From a distance it is indistinguishable from a more traditional option, but up close it's more interesting. For the second sport coat, he suggested and I agreed to a bolder grey and navy pattern that had me worried, when I walked out of the fitting, that I'd made a bad mistake. But when I slipped the coat on, I loved it, and more important, so did my wife. It's become my favorite jacket. Daniel has complete command of his business, and he has impeccable taste. Each time I have worked with him, he has applied that taste to meet my needs and taste. That's a rare skill, and I recommend Daniel very highly. Since I bought my last garment I have moved away from Chicago. I now travel regularly to the Bay Area on business. I hold Daniel in such high regard that I will aim to meet him on one of his periodic visits to San Francisco the next time I need a jacket or suit. read more

I began working with Daniel George a year and a half ago. At the time I needed multiple suits and shirts in preparation for a series of job interviews. I called many of the supposed top custom clothiers throughout the city. Just talking with Daniel over the phone, it was clear that he was both knowledgeable and professional. I booked my appointment. Upon first arriving at Daniel George I was immediately impressed by the quality of the clothing in his showroom. Daniel and his staff were inviting and friendly from the minute I walked into the door. During the appointment, Daniel and his staff helped me choose suits and materials that were both right for me and the occasional I needed them for. As I was new to this level of custom clothing, I was unsure about many of the details to add, such as ticket pockets, whether or not to have belt loops etc. Daniel and his staff carefully explained every option while listening to my concerns. Despite the considerable time they spent with me, I was never made to feel rushed. They did a fantastic job of guiding me towards the options that would be best for me. In the end I yielded to Daniel and his team's expertise and I could not be happier with the result. The suits and shirts I received from Daniel are by far the best I have ever owned. The fit of each garment is superb. I quickly lost count of the many compliments I received while wearing my new suits. Even more impressive is the customer service. Designing clothes with Daniel is always a pleasant experience. He does a fantastic job of steering me towards materials and designs that are right for me while firmly but gently preventing me from ordering anything that would make me look less than my best or be wrong for the occasion for which it is required. Additionally, Daniel truly stands behind his products. He and his staff are always happy to answer any questions and quickly resolve any concerns. At current, I am eagerly awaiting my next order of shirts, pants, and a sport coat. I have no doubt that they will continue to be of same great quality as my last purchase. I will continue to be using Daniel George for all my future custom clothing orders and would give him my highest recommendation to anybody looking for custom clothes. read more

Very rarely would I say a business or restaurant would deserve a solid 5-star rating, but my experience with Daniel George was truly just that. The reviews you read about him are true -- a complete professional whose style and expertise are unmatched. He's a sartorial genius with a passion to provide the best service and care for your custom garments. I went to Daniel in search of creating the perfect suit for my wedding. After a few unsuccessful visits to other custom/bespoke shops, it became clear in the first five minutes with Daniel that he was the right person to turn my initial vision into something extraordinary. Daniel and business manager Grant McNamara were really personable and truly cared about getting the most minute details just right for my suit -- from fabric selection to the color of the button holes on my jacket. Daniel isn't one to shy away from challenges. My best man was flying in from the UK three days before my wedding. Although not ideal, Daniel was able to take my best man's measurements and translate them perfectly with only the most minor of adjustments made three days before the wedding. Daniel also believes in going the extra mile to make sure everything is just right, even when he unfortunately can't be there to see things through. Grant graciously took the time to conduct the fitting after hours and even personally delivered the suit to my wedding rehearsal. He even brought a few other additional options for bow ties for me to consider. Talk about customer service! Daniel didn't just tell you what you wanted to hear. He was critical and honest, keeping the best intentions for the overall look of the suit in mind. He was fully engaged in talking through key decisions in the process of getting my suit made and clearly wasn't afraid to convince me to take some good risks. Not once did I feel the pressure or felt forced to make a decision. For that, I'm truly thankful. His work speaks for itself. I was blown away by the results -- the right fit, cut, and timeless style. Daniel George provides the highest levels of customer service, fashion knowledge, and garment quality to give his clients an unparalleled experience purchasing a custom suit. Pick stitching throughout. Functional buttons on cuff. Side tabs. Snugtex. You may not know what these terms and phrases mean when it comes to men's fashion, nor that they are features one finds on high end suits. I sure didn't. But that is part of what makes working with Daniel such a fantastic experience: he is wildly enthusiastic about men's clothing and that enthusiasm is infectious. You can't spend an hour discussing your suit with him without some of that knowledge rubbing off on you. I was one month out from my wedding and running out of suiting options. I had purchased and returned 12 suits from online, discount "luxury" houses and not one fit in a manner that was even remotely acceptable. A quick search of the internet led me to Daniel's Website and I requested an appointment. Within 72 hours I was in his office knowing only that I wanted a navy suit for my nuptials. Daniel took it from there. Not only did her provide a crash course master class in men's fashion, explaining the finer, quality details about the suit I was purchasing and asking which options I preferred (narrow, normal, or wide lapel? two or three buttons? cuffed or uncuffed hem?), but he asked questions about unrelated topics and got a sense for who I was. From my answers, he provided guidance about what I might be comfortable with and my personal style could include. It was also incredibly reassuring that he had on a suit from his own line and was wearing the f*** out of it. I decided on the the Wedding Suit Package and he made sure it matched my sense of style: classic with a large dose of rock'n'roll. The suit was done in time for a first and second fitting with alterations made in between the two appointments. I picked up my suit, shirt and tie a couple days before I left town for my nuptials and couldn't have been happier with the overall experience. I am already planning my next order. My journey with Daniel George started about two and half years ago. After a local men's store closed, I found myself looking for a place to call home for my clothing needs. Stores like Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus were nice, but lacked the personalized service I had grown accustomed to receiving. Enter, Daniel George. Daniel George is a boutique custom suit studio. Appointments are private: Daniel, his staff, and the customer. Selections for suits, jackets, pants and shirts are all done off of fabric swatches, and that is where Daniel's gifts truly shine. He has an amazing eye, like an artist assessing his canvass, he guilds his clients toward the best fabrics for their stated needs. Is the process perfect? No, but it is close. What would I change to make it perfect? It would be nice to be able to stop in to the studio without an appointment simply to see and feel new fabrics, shoes, accessories; however, at the rate of growth he is having with his business, a store front may very well be in the future. Since meeting Daniel, I have been overwhelmed with his attention to detail, precision, and personal touch. He has an impeccable eye for fashion, and his clothing is of the highest quality. My suits of choice, prior to Daniel were good - Canali off the rack. Daniels, pieces have better construction, unique detail, and offer a more attractive silhouette, which consistently garners praise from those with whom I encounter. At this point, I have totally revamped my wardrobe. I've given away the old to make room for the new. Daniel has crafted 2 suits, 5 sport coats, 3 slacks, 16 shirts, 2 shoes, and a plethora of ties and pocket squares. Now that I've found my clothing home, I need to build a new home for my clothing. I recently purchased a suit, few shirts and a sport coat. I could not be HAPPIER with the service and clothing I have received from Daniel George I have been looking to get a custom suit made for a while. I looked at everyone and anyone in the Chicago area and did my research, looked at reviews. I have had friends get suits made at different places and asked for their opinions. While their suits looked good they didn't have that wow factor I was looking for. I even had friends that work for some of these places and tried to convince me to come to them. After my research I decided to pull the trigger with Daniel George. My initial appointment went great I met Daniel, Elliot and Justin. Everyone was very welcoming and and made the atmosphere more comfortable. I wasn't sure exactly what color and pattern I wanted to go with but through Daniel's consulting and expertise we decided on a great color and fabric. The attention to detail was second to none. I left the private appointment happy and confident that this is where I will be going for all my needs in the future. The following week I booked a trip to Vegas and decided to have a sport coat made for the trip. and the experience was another 5 Star experience. I went in this past Friday for my fitting and as soon as I saw the suit and sport coat I could not stop smiling. after trying on the suit I absolutely LOVED it. The suit fit amazing and I felt great wearing it. I had the wow factor I was looking for. Every piece exceeded my expectations. Before writing this, I wondered whether another 5-star review would amount to needlessly cumulative evidence of DG's incredible proficiency. Since his crew makes such an effort to customize each experience (and garment), I decided that my review - despite its not-so-different 5-star conclusion - could try to do the same. First, the value proposition for good custom suiting is clear (i.e., the same or better price than off-the-rack clothes from the same fabrics/mills, except the item is produced specifically for you). While most of Chicago's custom suiting shops offer this same general value proposition, DG differentiates his team's value proposition by bringing unmatched quality and expertise to the table. If you're looking for hard evidence of this, do these two things: (1) compare Daniel's career (and the careers and expertise of DG's staff) to the career experience of the other proprietors you're considering, and (2) book an appointment with DG and ask him (since he'll be at your appointment) to actually show you the difference. You'll find that (1) DG & his team have spent the majority/all of their careers in the industry and are passionate about what they do, and (2) the vastly superior quality of DG's garments relative to his competitors - even if you aren't an expert in clothing - is obvious, especially for those that have actually worked with DG's competitors. Second, and more anecdotally, I've now had a couple of suits, a blazer, a number of shirts, and a pair of slacks made by DG. Simply put, as long as DG is operating somewhere in the US, I'll go to him. I've even hooked my dad (who lives on the East Coast) on DG's work. He now incorporates an appointment with DG into every trip to Chicago. Neither of us can imagine getting suiting, coats, shirts, or slacks from anyone else at this point, much less off-the-rack. My advice: stop looking around, book an appointment, and trust DG & his team. read more

First of all, I would like to begin by saying that I never thought I'd own a custom made suit. It seemed like an expensive, extravagant purchase that was beyond my means. My problem is that with an athletic build, it's hard for me to find something off-the-rack that fits the way it should. After shopping in stores, not liking much and some encouragement from my wife, I decided to try it. A friend turned me on to Daniel George, and boy was I surprised/happy with what happened next. He came to my office to measure me and brought tons of fabric samples. Do I have the best taste? No. Does Daniel? You bet! He was immaculately dressed when we met and I could tell he had style. I mostly deferred to his suggestions on the suit and shirt fabrics. It was also cool being able to pick out every little detail on the clothing. I had my choice of the cuffs, collars, pockets, inner-lining of the suit jackets, etc. It was awesome. I even got my name sewn into the jacket lining! I couldn't wait for my clothing to get delivered; I was very excited. Like a kid waiting for Hanukkah (or Christmas, for you Gentiles :) ). I obviously had never ordered custom clothes before, but the 4 weeks it took to come in seemed pretty fast. Daniel came back out to my office to deliver them and have me try everything on to ensure a good fit. Everything was perfect; not a single alteration needed. Now I know that by paying a little more, I get so much more satisfaction, quality and value. Now I own a suit that I want to wear all the time because it's so nice and it fits me, and my shirts are amazing too! Daniel has a funny take on things and is extremely laid back, and easy to work with, although, he's serious about his business. He listened to me, had great advice and taste. Amazing! read more

Before going to Daniel George, I bought a few 'custom' suits from a guy that would come from overseas and offer 'high quality fabric' for a discounted price. I was deeply disappointed in the quality and fit and swore I'd never buy a custom suit again, thinking it just wasn't worth it. After buying a few store bought, off the rack, suits and being disappointed with their quality and fit, despite being tailored, I thought I would try one more time. I did some research and settled on DG. I have to say that in my profession, my reputation and income depends solely on excellent customer service and I am not easily impressed. With DG, from setting to the appointment, to the initial consultation and everything else up until the final product was delivered, my expectations were exceeded in every way. ...and then I tried on the suit, which I paid more to have made as a true bespoke suit (what the hell.. why not.. its only $$). Anyway, from the amazing feel of the fabric to the attention to detail to the exacting fit, I was blown away. Every time I put that suit on I beam with pride. Even my CEO complemented it when I walked into the room for a company function. DG will make you stand out and stand up straighter knowing you're the best damn dressed man wherever you happen to be. Since that suit, I bought two more when they had a sale at the end of last year. They weren't bespoke but "1/2 handmade 1/2 machine made" (I think that's how he described it) and am still very impressed. Those 3 suits are my go-to's. I recently had the pleasure of meeting with Daniel George and his associate Grant at their downtown Chicago location. I have purchased men's suiting all over the world, from off the rack to custom/bespoke clothing. Most of these purchases have been exactly that...purchases...and only that. The biggest difference I have experienced at DR is that it was not just a purchase...it was an experience and a lesson. DG treats the transaction as a professional and his client working together to find a great solution, rather than a customer and a purveyor who will never see each other again. DG provided a gentle assessment about what I could and should improve on in both my style and fit, and knew intuitively what would be the best options for my body shape, occupation and age. I did not have a single moment where I felt pressured or pushed toward something outside my true comfort zone. At the same time, he made some suggestions that did make me step outside my box a little and consider raising my game. While I have not yet taken delivery of the clothes I selected, I can attest to the quality and craftsmanship of the clothing in the DG office. First rate details, great colors and fabrics, and cut like a gentleman's suit rather than a skateboarder's skinny suit. The nicely decorated and comfortable office location on MI avenue is right around the corner from the excellent Tavern at the Park, so kill two birds with one stone...buy some suits and shirts, then have a Scotch and some apps at Tavern at the Park. I flirted with the idea of getting a custom tuxedo for my wedding. I found Daniel George in my initial search but quickly assumed they would be out of my price range. I visited a few other "custom" shops in Chicago and was discouraged. At both places, I got a bit of a used car salesman vibe. The people I talked to didn't seem to know much about suits and were pushy to make the sale. Worst of all, despite calling themselves custom clothiers, they weren't willing to make even small modifications to their templated design. I decided to at least call Daniel George before giving up. I was surprised when Daniel himself answered the phone. After a quick chat, I knew this was going to be a different experience altogether. At Daniel George, there are no salesmen or rigid templates. You deal with Daniel directly and he's there to guide you in the right direction every step of the way. He is flexible enough to make sure you get what you want while having enough expertise to know when to push you out of your comfort zone. And, his shop is impeccably designed and decorated which just enhances the experience. We built my tuxedo from the ground up. He offered stylistic advice about shoes, accessories, and black tie rules in general. Daniel, along with Shelly, were friendly, professional, and met every deadline they set. And, for the quality you get, the tuxedo was surprisingly affordable (more so than the other two lesser places I looked at). Oh, and the tux fits perfectly. On the hunt for a custom made suit for my wedding led me to Daniel George. I knew my wife and her bridesmaids as in every wedding would look their best. With that in mind I definitely wanted a look that spoke for itself when we walked into the room. Rental tuxedos and suits from big stores are always an option, however, their "one size fits all" adjustability did not give me the look I was after. I really wanted a suit that was cut very well in every spot, not just the arm length and waist. Now for the experience. I will start by saying every man, no matter what your background is, deserves to at least sit in the consultation with Daniel, Grant, and team. I spoke those same words to my groomsmen as they came in for measurements. The setup is very private and comforting. The showroom showcases some of what they can do, along with many options to help with your decision making. Now the process, you will begin with the question of what you are looking for which will move into picking out fabrics, linings, suit type/cut etc. As I said before, the experience is all about you, their attention to detail and prioritizing your needs goes a long way. I enjoyed the team being open and voicing their opinions when it came to styles, colors, things they saw work and things they didn't see work so well. They worked with me even on my wedding day to make sure everything went and looked the way I wanted. I'm a tall guy who has traditionally had a hard time finding clothes that fit. I'm at least 6'4" and my shirts especially have often been too short in the sleeves, too short in the body, or too tight in in the chest. I tried at first to order a suit through Indochino. That was a disaster. Sent back the Indochino suits three times before giving up and asking for a refund. I decided I needed to go custom, and I saw the reviews for Daniel George. He and his clothing lived up to them. I showed up for my first appointment and Daniel fetched me personally from the lobby. The entire process was conducted with him personally. We discussed my needs and budget (I'm a graduate student, soon to be applying for jobs), and we went through the available fabric, color, and price options, which were flexible. Daniel is very cool in person, and very friendly. I know very little about suiting, except what I have gleaned from brief internet research. Daniel was on it. He explained the problems I had been having (prior suits weren't accounting for my type of shoulder, he noted especially). He took my measurements himself. He threw in a shirt and tie and pocket square on the house, since it was my first suit with him. The (blue) suit came, and Daniel measured it twice more personally, making adjustments in house, and on the house, until it fit like a glove. Shortly thereafter it showed up in a lovely box on my doorstep, neatly folded, with a complementary suit bag and hanger. Overall very pleased. Excellent service and a very nice suit. I admire craftsmanship and attention paid to detail in product as well as in service. Cheap, quick and gimmicky are adjectives for off the rack suit shops, not Daniel George Custom Suits. I don't want the latest high tech way to electronically get my measurements and I don't want a suit pulled off the rack that I know i'm going to see someone else wear down the hall. I want an experience as bespoke to me and my needs as much as my suit and its measurements. Not every tailor will notice if you slouch or if your shoulders sit differently from each other. DG will and will measure accordingly because precision matters. DG's staff and showroom are as warm as it comes, needless to say if your still cold in the showroom, warm yourself up at the liquor bar. Upon your arrival, DG's team is about learning who you are and what your style lends itself to in terms of garment selection. Clothing here isn't just about thread count and how much it costs, it's about how it empowers you in and out of the office, or how it will brighten those pictures at your wedding. From traditional to the extra unique, DG can build it. Custom in every way imaginable, this is your suit and your experience, tailored to make you feel and look the best way possible. I'd give Daniel & team 6 stars if I could. My fiance and I have been working with DG for nearly 2 years now and can't say enough wonderful things about Daniel, the studio, the business (his team!), and the product they deliver. My fiance previously purchased bespoke suits from another Chicago clothier, and I can tell you the difference between the experiences is striking. To start, DG's showroom is an experience in and of itself. It feels more like Daniel carved out a piece of his home than it does a sales studio. Furthermore, the DG team only sees one client at a time, so you truly feel the like you have the time, space, and attention that building a custom wardrobe requires. Daniel, his tailor, his office manager...they're all focused on your appointment- so nothing slips through the cracks or gets lost in translation. I particularly appreciate the variety Daniel offers. I started writing, telling my story about my entire experience with Daniel George and how amazing he truly is and before I knew it, I was on my third page! Knowing that most people wouldn't take the time to read a three page testimonial, this is my attempt to sum up my experience in a few short paragraphs. I had a destination wedding and wanted to look great. I know all eyes are usually on the bride and how amazing she looks, but my goal was to at least get a couple of compliments here and there. After allowing Daniel to make my suit, shirt and tie and pocket square, I literally got a standing ovation! Being a masculine dressing woman, I knew from the start that I would need a suit custom made to my body in order for it to look appropriate on my wedding day. I was worried that any place I went to would try to put me in a feminine pant suit or an oversized boxy jacket. I made an appointment with Daniel George with low expectations. I was shocked to find Daniel George himself sitting at the table for my appointment. I told him what I was looking for and I could tell from that very first meeting that he knew exactly what I was wanting. When I came back for my fitting I was absolutely blown away with the suit I was given! DG and his crew absolutely nailed it! Not only did they get the suit perfect, but I also requested a personal touch on the inside as a dedication to my late father and they were more than happy to oblige. To some it's just a suit, but for me, it's so much more than that. This is the suit I'll be wearing when I marry my wife. Speaking of marrying my wife, not once did ANYONE at DG make us feel unwelcome for being a lesbian couple. "Priceless" is the best word I can use to describe my personal experience(s) at Daniel George. Justin at the Chicago DG has become my favorite men's fashion stylist. His taste is impeccable and friendly, caring demeanor is priceless. Having a stylist like Justin made me come out of my fashion prison. I gave him full control of the design process and couldn't be more elated that I did. Daniel, Justin and the entire Daniel George staff take men's fashion and your personal styling with the greatest of pride. It doesn't matter as too your budget, they treat you as you're their sole focus from the beginning to the end of the process. I have always been a stylish rack fashion buyer. Having then to take these "rack garments" to be altered to fit my tall and skinny frame. Even then the stuff looked ok, not great. With Justin's help I got amazing Daniel George clothing, tailored specifically for me, that look and feel amazing. The first suit (Tuxedo) I purchased from DG made me a fan. I hadn't owned a suit jacket since middle school, much less a whole suit, and I wouldn't describe my every day fashion sense as keen either. Also, I'm a very large man, 6'4" and 350+ lbs. So when I needed a suit to get married in I wasn't sure where to start. I went around to the usual "off the rack" retailers in downtown Chicago and my experience looking for a suit went like this: "There is no way we have anything in your size" or "We have two items in your size, they are only in black and grey and there are no pants." So I made the very wise decision to find an actual clothier and to get away from the chain stores that didn't fit me. Daniel and Grant are fantastic people. They had me hooked the moment I read their website. They clearly know what they're doing and they have a passion for it- two attributes that when found together so often result in greatness. We talked about what kind of suit would be best for me, we found a great color (and the lining is amazing). There were only two sessions where I needed to get measured and they got basically everything right with the first one. I always felt comfortable, Daniel and Grant were always professional and on point, and I couldn't be happier with the results. They were then unresponsive after several (4+) repeated emails and a phone call and they did not have the suit ready by the deadline, so I had to get a suit from a different shop. They then assured me that they would have the alterations finished 2 weeks afterwards in June. It is now September 2026 and they have let me know that they did not even start these alterations. More broadly, It has been over a year since the construction of the suit and Richard Bennet Tailors does not have a suit that fits me yet. I do not have confidence in this tailor based on my personal experience and am quite disappointed. I write this wishing that the experience was instead positive.

Best decision I could have made working with Zach and Kirsten throughout the process from the initial online form inquiry all the way until the final measurements, suit and custom shoe pickup. Kirsten's initial response laid out details about the first consultation, how the first fitting would work after that, an rough estimate of investment ranges and then what a second fitting would work after that. They are both incredibly detail oriented both when it comes to creating the perfect custom clothing but also when it comes to getting to know/care for their customers. Every time I had an appointment, it felt like walking in to meet with two friends or family members. They gave great suggestions in terms of designing the suit but ultimately left the decision up to me to make. They also kept things very simple for someone like myself who had never purchased custom clothing, which made me feel at ease in a situation where it could be very easy to feel intimidated. Another thing that I appreciated as well as that they kept me up to date on the timing of the arrival of my order and since I decided late to add on custom shoes, even give me a heads up before I made the purchase and again when the deadline for arrival was getting closer that they may not make it, so it gave me a chance to have a back up pair at the ready just in case. I was in the market for a blazer/sport coat. I tried more jackets than I can count at Masy's, Brooks Brothers, Banana Republic, Nordstrom, small shops, online...I tried everywhere and I found a lot that were ok, fit ok, but there was always a little drawback, even with tailoring. The sleeve length wasn't quite right. The shoulders were a little too tight...or a little too loose. Why won't the lapel lay right. I'm 40 and sick of settling for ok. Well, I never have to settle again. I sat down with Josh and went over style and fabric choices, he really explained a lot of little details that go into a jacket or suit that you wouldn't know unless you were a professional. I had a few unique design ideas of my own and he worked with me to come up with a one of a kind and stylish jacket that fits.like.a.glove. I mean, wow, the fit could not be more ideal. You will not be disappointed because he'll go over every little detail with you until you get exactly what you want, even if you didn't know exactly what you wanted when you came into his shop. The price is very reasonable for what you get too. When I decided to go the made-to-order route, I did a lot of research and Josh charges about 50% less than the bespoke competition (depending on fabric and details). Why spend $300 on an ok jacket with a couple compromises that you then have to spend more money on to tailor when you can spend $500 and look better dressed than every other guy in the room? Why spend $800 for an established designer when you can spend $500 on an up-and-comer who is as talented as the competition and more motivated to make you happy? Just give the guy a call. Just do it. You will can thank me later.
