Knowing we had just moved I called the dentist yesterday and asked if there would be a charge for a consultation. I was told the consultation was free. Arrived for my appointment today and they told me my insurance would not cover the consultation and the fee would be $125 contridicting the person from yesterday who I was told never said that. Not a good start but it gets worse. I paid because I have some serious pain in my tooth and I saw the doctor. He said I can't have pain because the tooth has a root canal. Told me I need some implants and gave me a business card. I paid $125 for a consultation to get a business card to another dentist. That is not cool. (Wow - he spent more time writing the response to my review than he did with my wife! Again, we called the day before the appointment and was told the consultation would be free - don't take my word for it - look at the other bad reviews - currently Yelp has 3.8 stars for this office read more

Dr. DelCastill is an excellent dentist both for general and cosmetic dentistry. He has a very calming and reassuring demeanor. The hygienist, Pedro Leon is very capable and thorough and takes his time checking everything. The staff at the front office are helpful and friendly. Overall they are a pleasure to visit and make for a positive experience. read more

Everything about this Dental Office is the tops! You will be extremely satisfied with time and attention to detail given.

Where should I start... During my first visit, I was billed an additional $50 for deep cleaning services by the dental hygienist who cleaned my teeth. I was not made aware of this until I was at reception to pay out and charged by the actual hygienist. I called a year later with different insurance coverage and was told I had no coverage. After speaking to my insurance provider and being told I was indeed covered since Feb. 2019 I figured I would give them another shot. After trying to make an appointment and begin given the run around and a spoken to with an absurd tone by both Hilda (office supervisor) and Jamina I have decided to look for dental services elsewhere. Additionally, this facility sends out weekly marketing eblasts from the office pushing their services. My overall experience here has been horrible. I do not recommend this facility to anyone. read more

From the minute I walked in I was greeted by a friendly staff. It's a large beautiful spotless office De DelCastillo is so personable @ talented & priced well. I couldn't be happier with my results Definitely my dentist read more

I've been to at least three different dentists in different parts of the country, but this one has become my favorite in terms of friendliness, pricing (they're all expensive anyways - just get insurance), and ambience. The sunny yellow walls and windows in the small room fronting the green palms (it's on the 3rd floor) or the colors of Miami Beach definitely gives this place an unique flavor. Each room is staffed with a TV for your amusement should you ever be bored by your pain. However, they take pain very considerably so you shouldn't experience a lot of pain. They're good with reminding the customers via email, regular mail, and so forth. They never forget to give a thank you note, a phone call, and you even can confirm your appointments online. On top of that, they (both assistants and dentists) take each tooth seriously. That's what made this place stand out above the rest in my opinion. read more

Just prior to the pandemic, I started a major dental renovation. I started with the front top four teeth and recently finished with the bottom front four. I can't say enough about my satisfaction with my results. But, that is not the whole story. Kudos to everyone at the office who goes the extra mile to see that the patient is comfortable and happy. Thank you Dr. Del Castillo and your team ... I love my new smile .. can't wait to lose the mask !! read more

I'm picky about dentists and have had trouble finding a general dentist that I like consistently for YEARS. Since I'm all about convenience I needed someone on the beach near me so I would actually make it to my appointment, I found this dr's listing through my insurance company and looked at his website. After speaking with the front office I made my first appointment and was pleased with everything! His staff, the location and the dentist himself was friendly and inviting. This was over 18 months ago and so far have made it to 3 cleanings and today had a filling replaced. I like that if I have an appointment for a certain time I never wait for more than a few minutes to be seen. JD is right..they send me emails, call or even send me text reminders for my appointments. There is plenty of street parking available and there is a free lot in the back of the building but I've only been able to park there once, it is usually full. I have very good dental insurance so I've never had an issue with billing or payment. I do like that they submit my claims to my insurance company right away not months later. I was nervous about getting my filling replaced today since I had a bad experience a few years back with another "dentist" but his assistant listened to my concerns, spoke to him and everything went great and painless. Extremely happy with his office. read more

I have been going to Dr Castillo for the last 2 years... he is a good dentist but his office manager is his anchille's heel. She is rude, abrasive and never apologies to you, as the customer, when she is wrong. I am a paying customer, and I don't appreciate her speaking to me like I'm 12 years old ... so rude with her responses when I ask questions relating to cost and their services.. Today was my limit to put up with her rudeness... as good as Dr Castillo is.. its not worth the agreviation to deal with his rude employee! read more

I did not see Dr Daniel DelCastillo but I did see Alexandra the dental hygienist. I can say that she was so incredibly thorough on her cleaning. I am 53 and I am VERY bad about flossing, I can only imagine that I am a dental hygienist nightmare. Alexandra just put on her armor...goggles, mask, etc....and dug in. She cleaned my teeth for what seemed like an hour. She did an amazing job. I actually learned a few new tricks...massage your gums....this stimulates them and keeps them healthy. If you need a cleaning you must go to see Alexandra. She is great at her job! read more

I trust Dr D. with my teeth and no matter where I live. I will travel all the way from Palm Beach to see him and or his staff. I went thru horrible dentists before I found this place in 2001. Dr. D., repaired my teeth, gave me the most beautiful smile, he is the only honest dentist I have been to. He knows dentistry, he keeps up with the latest technology. His staff is super friendly and if you have an emergency he even met me at his office on a Sunday, he really cares about his patients. Dr. DelCastillo is the only dentist that I trust and I highly recommend his whole staff. read more

Dr. Del Castillo has been my dentist for over 15 years. Unfortunately, I have a medical condition that damages my teeth so I visit the office a few times a year. When I came to him the first couple of times he took the fear away. He's very professional, patient and understanding and I have to say I have never felt any pain. The staff is amazing, from the front desk to the assistants and the hygienists. I can't say enough about Dr. D and his staff, love them all and have referred family and friends who are all current patients and very happy too. read more

I called to make an appointment here based on the two good reviews I read on Yelp and I'm sorry to say I do not agree with their praises. The receptionist was nice on the phone but everything went downhill after that. This office requires a consultation before a cleaning or any other type of appointment. They did not tell me there was a fee for this consultation prior- which turned out to be $150 (without insurance)!! The receptionist gave me a bit of an attitude when I was there and wouldn't tell me how much they charge for a cleaning until after the consultation. I refused and walked out. Still looking for a good dentist in Miami... read more

I have been serviced by many dentists in the Miami Beach area and never experienced this anywhere else, and need to report on my experience with DelCastillo that amounts to a scam. I went for a first visit and got X-rays done and had DelCastillo check my teeth for 2 minutes and recommend a nightguard. I was going to get a cleaning done too, when the assistant comes in and says they will charge me for an exam 00180, a Comprehensive Periodontal Evaluation, that the dentist did NOT perform. I had those done in the past, they poke my gums, tooth by tooth and an assistant is there writing down the depth of the pockets. No, that exam was not performed. Yet I was asked to pay for it. I was also told that for the cleaning I was getting some extra procedures and that I had to pay for them. Application of fluoride was one of them. I don't remember any of my previous dentists charging me anything extra unless I needed a "deep" cleaning. I had read the lousy online reviews about this dentist but I figured not much can get wrong if all I need is a cleaning. I left without getting the cleaning and I am not going back. read more

I've been to the office twice. I have tried to go about five times. The phone is often unattended, and there is a prompt to leave a message that has never been returned. They like to market by email, which is fine, but the email prompts you to 'make an appointment', which I have also tried to do unsuccessfully. The office VM prompts you to phone Dr. Del Castillo if you have an urgent matter. I did and left a message saying that I wanted to schedule an appointment and his staff was inept. Shortly thereafter an office person phoned me screaming... I informed her that I was a patient and that as a customer, she should have a little more respect. She laughed at me. That's all you really need to know. Skip this place, they are not cheap, they are in a really cruddy building, etc. read more

I haven't even got a chance to check on the dentist's professionalism, however, judging by his staff I can tell his policy deserves a "F" - The receptionist refused to make me an appointment as a new patient SIMPLY BECAUSE I use SOLTISCE - AvMed as insurance. They said they won't take new patients under the policy. It does not make any sense. It means they are there for the money only, and AvMed certainly pays less. So... why are they still "accepting" the insurance then? It would be better just to cancel their agreement instead of refusing patients to come for treatment. read more

I have been going to Dr. Del Castillo for years almost 5 to be exact. Overall he is a very good dentist I have never had a problem everything is always professional. My last visit was very disappointing. First he tried to fix my fillings and then said he may have not been able to complete the job so he sent me to another dentist; I have had other dentists in the past work on this tooth without any problem. What is worse though is that since he couldn't properly get into my mouth -to work just for a filling mind you- my jaw now clicks because of him trying to open it so wide. I am not the first to experience this with him. My friend who first told me about him stopped going to him because he did the same to her- she now has TMJ. read more

Terrible service. They changed my first appointment three times and then gave me the wrong time. When I arrive at the time I was told, I'm told I'm going to have to wait 2 hours. And when I express my disappointment about it, I'm told to better leave, that if I don't like the way they work, I better go somewhere else (receptionist name: Hilda). Unbelievable. Don't waste your time trying to go there. read more

So I had a tooth extraction in this dental office. When I made an appointment I was told that tooth extraction cost about $200. I also had a dental plan which gave me 50% discount. So I was supposed to pay about $100. Well the surgery took 3 hours instead of 1, cause the dentist couldn't take out my tooth. He broke it into pieces and in the and told me that he just can't take it out (I don't know how is that even possible). well he told me that he took out the biggest part and there is still tiny piece left deep inside and I don't have to worry about it and I will not even feel it. When it was time to pay, I was told that the cost is going to be $320 (WITH 50% DISCOUNT ALREADY). I asked why it became so expensive, cause they didn't even complete the work I have to pay for. They said it's because it took 3 hours for this surgery and that I actually should be happy that I have discount, cause the price originally supposed to be more than $600. So after 3 hours of suffering from huge pain I had to pay these $320. After few days of healing I felt with my tongue a big piece of tooth on that place. I came to this office for consultation and doctor said that it's not tooth, it's my jaw bone and I don't have to worry about it, it will heal in couple weeks. It didn't, I still felt this huge piece (after couple months). But I moved to a different state so I couldn't go back to this office. So recently I went to my local dentist office. And my new dentist said that it's actually a part of that tooth that I feel in my mouth, and he also said that according to the law dentist who makes tooth extraction has to finish his work with no additional cost if he couldn't finish it before. Well now I feel like I was victim of a scam, because I ended up paying $320 for procedure they didn't even finish. read more

Where should i start: I have had so many horror stories with previous dentists and thought i would never find a good one. That is until i met Dr. Del Castillo! I got a quick appointment and he made me feel like i was the only patient around although office was quite busy. I don't know about the doctor, but the women, and I think her name is Maria, who works at the front desk shouldn't be working there. She doesn't speak proper English, she is rude and disrespectful. She hung up on me in a middle of the conversation. Those type of people should work at the front desk. Only for this reason I never made an appointment with this doctor. I think he is loosing a lot of new patients because of her. And I live very close to this dental office I could be a regular there read more

I've been a patient for the past 8 years and they are the absolute best! Friendliest staff and best service. I highly recommend!

The dentist charges for stain removal with a regular cleaning. The charge is $100.00 that they do not submit to your insurance company and do not tell you about until after the cleaning. This is all part of a regular cleaning and should not be charged separately. This is a way of gouging customers. read more

Dr. D is the best! I do not understand how anyone can give Dr. D anything but five stars. He has been my dentist for almost 20 years and being of Irish descent, my teeth are the worse. Four years ago I moved out west to Doral and tried three different dentists out here and they all are to pretentious and not good at all. In fact, when I needed major work performed, (extraction and implants), Dr. D came in THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS LESS! He is skilled and caring and his office staff has always been wonderful to me. I highly recommend him! Carol V. read more

I've been reading some of the negative reviews on this page and I must say I highly disagree with the comments criticizing this office's service. I've been going to Dr. Daniel del Castillo for more than fifteen years and have never had an issue. I've gotten to know the staff and the doctor and they all treat me with respect and care. Not only do they make me feel like a valued customer, the doctor and his assistants are highly skilled (and let me just say I've had some very delicate dental circumstances) and have managed to solve many of my dental health concerns. Dr. del Castillo is also very cautious, if he does not feel comfortable treating a dental concern he will refer you to doctors who are just as skilled and helpful. He is the bees knees.
