Fun LARGE home decor store located in the 124 street shopping area…read more Popped in here for the first time the other week while completing the 124 Street Red Shoe Crawl and absolutely fell in love with the store. From hand shaped book ends to the neatest hooks you'll ever find to keep your keys safe (did someone say squirrel?) to funky house numbers, Henry's is your place! The staff were friendly and the atmosphere bright, cheery, and full of natural light with huge floor to ceiling windows. They also carry a selection of furniture and had some fabric swatches so I'm pretty sure they are customizable. Can't wait to go back and add to my unusual hooks collection!

What a street party! Many many unique decorator items, furniture, lighting, art, even some really really nice clothing at fair prices! Nicely laid out vignettes of furniture, and the staff were quite gracious and helpful considering how many people were in the store that night. Depending what you are shopping for, you will want to spend some time exploring all the corners nooks and crannies for nifty items. I was particularly fascinated by the selection of hooks and LED lighting. The challenge with this neighbourhood is the parking, it's limited, and frequently you will need to resort to paying for either a meter on the street or in the Impark lot behind MEC. The bridge construction has been difficult for businesses in the area, and now the development going up kitty-corner to Henry's PFT will add to the challenge. Leave yourself some time, make a trip out of it, stop for a bite to eat and you will have a more relaxing visit.

I have mixed feelings on this one, but overall pretty positive!…read more This is a huuuuuge location and I was psyched to see the variety of products (and nicely organized, to boot!) Downsides: the primary staff member I spoke with about an ottoman wasn't overly friendly and definitely wasn't helpful, but the young man who lent me his measuring tape was a gem. I also found the "ambiance" of this place to be a bit yuck- the lighting was a strange shade of yellow that I think was raining on my parade. Overall I think this is a pretty great place to peruse for new household items and decor, and the prices are always great!

The order arrived on time, in perfect condition and delivery guys were great as well. Their delivery fees are lower than most of the nice stores. The only problem was that we chose the incorrect cushion firmness for us. We phoned and replacement inexpensive cushions were quickly ordered and quickly arrived. The owner offered to change them for us while we waited. Now it is really comfortable in addition to gorgeous. I don't buy fabric that often, but I happened to be out in this part of town on a Saturday and thought, "Why not?" Years ago, Allan G built me a framed board that I upholstered & added cup hooks to to hang my necklaces in my dressing room on (our 1950s house had NO closet space, so I made one of the bedrooms my IKEA-closeted paradise). However, in my new house, the fabric no longer worked where I wanted to put it. My new bedroom is in silver, gray, and very pale lilac-- sort of Jean Harlow 1930s glamour, so I was looking for some fabric with a nice shimmer or an actual metallic fabric. Found one! Absolutely gorgeous silvery print-- almost like a shantung. My cutter was super friendly and helpful (I can't think in metric). When she asked what I was creating, I had to explain that I had this board, and it was 24 x 26 inches...). When she told me the price I just about fell over, considering the exorbitant prices Fabricland charges. I think I paid around $22.00 for my find. They now have a customer for life, and I'll come back here FIRST before ever spending a dime in another Fabricland.

X-L is one of two dealers of Flexsteel sofas in Edmonton. The other is Finesse. Consumer Reports rated Flexsteel as one of the "best buys" in sofas, which is initially why we sought out X-L. Where X-L really satisfies is customer service, which i have seen lacking from a number of other, larger furniture stores in this city. Prices are presented up front and include delivery. X-L set proper expectations as far as when they could have the couch delivered to me, contacted me once they received it from the factory (it was custom-built for us), and delivered it at a precise time. No headaches at all - just a great sofa.
