Stopped in today for the 1st time, I've had a few friends tell me to check it out. I'm a bit of a foodie and love to eat. Mid-afternoon visit for lunch, I was greeted with a great big hello and welcome to Dangs when I walked in the door (I like stuff like that) after being told to sit anywhere I grabbed a table and waited for the rest of my party to arrive. As soon as they came in and sat at the table we were approached by Racquel our waitress. She was very friendly and happy, she took our drink orders and returned within minutes. After taking some time to review the menus I settled in on the brisket platter with mac and cheese and coleslaw. The order took a little longer than expected because of a computer issue. No big deal in my book. The food was hot and delicious, the brisket was juicy and seasoned perfectly in my opinion. The mac and cheese as well as the slaw was fine also. Looking for someplace different to try, read reviews and decided to give it a try. 4 of ours dined - 3 had ribs - When I have ribs I expect them to fall off the bone. These did not and with the butter knife given it was hard to get them apart. One of us had the pulled pork which was good. The side of loaded mashed potatoes, the mac and cheese and sweet potato fries were good. The cole slaw not so good. Service was not really great. 3 of us received our meals and the other was waiting for a bit. Never refilled soda after being asked. We also so other people complaining about being seated and not being given menus. In this covid time this was not a place that I really felt that they were being cautious and taking the right precautions. 2 of the people behind the counter did not have their masks around the mouth and nose but were wearing them as chin covers. I went to the seaford location last night for the first time and let me tell you everything i had was AMAZING, from the chips to the wings to the chicken and Mac&cheese /collard greens. Not the best 1st experience. We drove 40 mins based on a recommendation. Ordered 2 ribs plates, 1lb of brisket, CBR nachos. Made it all the way home to find out all of the sides and corn bread we're missing. No Mac&cheese, baked beans, greens. Come on the sides are the best part!!!! When we called they said the kitchen was closed and there's nothing they can do. They will leave my name at the register and I could ask for the manager next time. The brisket was over cooked. Very over cooked and dry even with the 5 cups of bbq sauce they put on it. Ribs were ok. Nachos were good. Food is delicious. I don't eat jalapeños but I LOVE their stuffed jalapeños. The menu is great and offers lots of selection. Mac and cheeses, ribs, pulled meats & sides (boyfriend loves the chili) are absolutely delicious! Also, the variety of dipping sauces is awesome! What a cute BBQ location! Walking in to the restaurant is agreeably awkward, especially with a packed house. However, common sense says to wait a minute to be seated and that we were! Our server was very nice, a little new, but still attentive. The food itself was cooked deliciously fresh and came with 2 sides AND cornbread! Yum!! We got the pulled pork and pulled chicken, spicy and sweet respectively. The flavor is on point and smoked perfectly. We picked this place for my birthday dinner and unfortunately it was pretty awful. There a bit pricey, but that is expected at a BBQ restaurant but the problem is they have a fast food vibe going with cheap tables and Chairs along with having to order your food at the register. I saw 2 smokers near kitchen but too small imo. The muffin was inedible. Beans were ok. Mac and cheese tastes like soap. Inedible. If you like oven baked saucy ribs then they are tasty here. As far as a bbq place the atmosphere was good but when it came to the actual food it was far from bbq. The brisket was dry and tasteless, the ribs were not fall off the bone and very under seasoned. I didn't even try the Mac and cheese but that also looked under par and had an unpleasant order. The drinks were underwhelming. Too many to choose from, we decided on the grilled chicken salad and a A pork alypse wrap. Both were fantastic! We Will definitely be back. The only minor issue we had was that the seats with the high top tables were a little uncomfortable for our "old" bodies and also the area didn't have anywhere for my wife to hang or store her pocketbook, so she had to keep it on her lap. I hate to say negative things, but maybe this will be used constructively. Had trouble calling in an order, Was busy for a long time and had to keep redialing. Get a second line or online ordering! This is the same reason many people stopped going to Bubbas... The pickup for taking out was confusing, Had to wait on a line with people placing orders and then go to a different counter to pick up. This took way too much time. If I ordered already I should not have to wait behind a bunch of people 1st placing orders. Fix the registers at the pickup counter to take credit cards and put a sign up so you know where to go for pickups. The first girl I talked to was all confused and could not answer questions about the menu. Maybe she was new, but she should be trained better or not e allowed to work directly with customers alone until she was more familiar with the menu. This is restaurant basics! The pickup counter had teenagers working it (2) that couldn't look more unhappy or bored to be there. It was busy dinner time, so not sure why. Maybe they need better music or louder music to keep them peppy. I actually asked my friend if they looked more sleepy or stoned! We asked for 3 extra BBQ sauces as we had 3 dinner orders. When I got home we only had 2 extra sauces. I ordered a plate which comes with 2 sides and a corn muffin. I was missing one side! For a 14.95 chicken plate, I should have both sides I ordered. My friend got her 2 sides!!! I may go back and ask for a free waffle fries to make up for it and see how they react! I had hoped that they would offer an alternative to white bread for hamburgers but they do not. That was disappointing so I opted for the plate. The Mac N Cheese was yummy but cold inside. I live a few blocks away and went right home and started eating, so it wasn't the drive, I will say the food is good. Yes, the BBQ sauce they put on things is a bit light, but they do offer the extra sauces if you like. The girl on the phone was really nice and fun t talk to. Wish the other employees had her spunk! I paid for and tipped for a delivery service and never got it. My order sat in the restaurant for over 2 hours and then I was told to come pick it up. Never received an apology or anything of the sort from the manager for the screw up. On top of that, the food was below par. This place doesn't hold a candle to Smokin' Al's. How do you serve Mac and cheese as a plain noodle with just cold shredded cheese on top of it, and call yourself a BBQ place? Their brisket was too thick and could be marinated more. The woman in red kindly checked in with me a few times to let me know things were moving along etc. Unfortunately never said want a drink or anything. I finally asked for a beer. Table for 7 ready to go. The smell in the place is great. We've been looking at the menu so we were ready to go. Drinks first and while i did have a beer in front of me, it was close to empty and I had to call the young woman back over for a refill. Took a minute as "beer really isn't my thing" and took three requests to get something available. Already frustrating as one of them were a suggestion from the bartender who didn't realize they were out of a beer they were recommending. (Our waitress was nice enough but maybe new to being a server. We even said it was our first time their so if the order took a bit she'd understand why.) Time to order some food. My Father in Law is first up to order. A full rack of St Louis ribs. "I'm so sorry, we're out of ribs. Please don't shoot the messenger." I'm sorry what?!?! It's about 230 in the afternoon. How are you out of ribs already? And it's gonna to be a while before they are ready, a few hours. Totally get that as a quality product takes time. Regroup and get some burnt ends so i can at least get a taste of what I'm missing. Various orders around the table. Appetizers come out. Burnt ends. Pickle chips. Wings in two flavors. Wings were good enough, not the best, not the worst. Pickle chips got high reviews. Burnt ends. Just meh. Some big chunks of fat which i would've expected to render down in the cooking process. Pulled them apart. Good flavor. Again just the fat. Entrees come out. Well almost all. It took us asking for the missing salad my mother in law ordered for two servers to notice it was missing. When they finally brought it out, no dressing. "Oh you want dressing too, what kind?" Why didn't anyone ask this when taking an order. Again nice enough but not a lot of experience. Brisket is over cooked, bbq chicken is ok. My daughter got the pulled pork slider. Spits out the first bite. A chunk of fat. Fat...Again... at this point I'm over it. Want to finish up and leave. Been there for about 45 minutes. Table next to us orders ribs in the midst of this. Prob about 10 minutes before we get our food. Takes a bit but low and behold an order of ribs brought to the table. After they order and before they are served we ask about the ribs again. "Oh no that's gonna be a while." And yet the table next to us got ribs. They got ribs. RIBS WERE SERVED! Not a single comment to us. Not a sorry about that. Not a thing. The lack of ribs was clearly expressed as disappointing and visible on the look of my face and my father in law. Did a manager come over and say hey sorry about that. I don't want free stuff. I want courtesy. Oh wait and how is it that while we waited no one said hey by the way we are out of ribs. It was a 5 minute wait. 20+ minutes. Not a word. So in the end my two girls saw the Candy Shoppe shake come out. They wanted it no matter what. And while it may have been Father's Day and i was let down i wasn't going to let them down. Got them the shake. We tell them they are going to split it. One straw and one lollipop.
