Wow! This place was recommended to us by someone at a car repair place,but we don't always trust people we don't know well. When we pulled up and opened the car door, the delicious smell smacked us in the face. What a job ordering...so many incredible things on the menu. We finally settled on the Big Bad Wolf's Revenge ( sausage, pulled pork & Bacon for the meats) , Tex Mex Style waffle fries, and a nice craft beer. SO GOOD! I have to say, I've eaten here a few times and so far I've never had a problem. Food is great, staff is extremely polite. Even when they are busy they work as best they can to get food out in a timely fashion. I should also add that they are doing their best to make sure all surfaces are sanitized regularly. Everytime I come here the atmosphere is calm and friendly. You see a mixed group of people from families enjoying themselves to a couple at the bar having a drink with wings. The food is good however, I think they could offer more sides. Beans w-o pork and maybe broccoli or corn on the cob, just for those who don't want fries etc. Food does take awhile to come to the table and I would suggest a appetizer but there has been a few times where both the appetizer and entree came out at the same time so I suggest asking for chips if your hungry they are complimentary and since I'm usually bringing peoole that's never come it gives them a chance to try the different sauces. The portions are good and the value for the money is reasonable. I like this place and have come here 4-5xs in the past 3 months. Walked in on a Saturday afternoon looking forward to dining at Dang BBQ. Alarm bells should have gone off as it was almost full, yet no one had any food on their tables and no one was eating. We literally watched one table get up and leave without getting served. We ordered thinking how bad could it be, food has been good here before. Then the wait, the wait, the wait. 45+ minutes to get 2 appetizers. Then another hour plus to get our entrees. The kitchen was obviously having issues trying to get out multiple catering orders to customers who were frustrated waiting for their catering orders. Who is running this place, it was literally my worst experience ever. Never saw a manager, never heard sorry its taking so long. Once our food was delivered I told waitress give us stuff to pack up and we are out of here. The waitress tried I have say, but this is an never go back ever. This is how you treat in dining customers while you are focused on your catering orders? We left disgusted. Took a lot of poor service to make me write this, poor service of epic proportions. Found this place by accident and was delighted. Good bbq is hard to find on Long Island. Tried the deal breaker, which is brisket, and it was delicious. Very juicy, piled high on a bun, nice bark, only $8.95 at lunch with homemade fries. If you've got good brisket, you're halfway home. Also tried the 1/2 lb burger, which was juicy and flavorful. Comes with onion, pickle, cheese, tomato and lettuce. A good bet. BBQ sauce was sweet and tasty. Didn't try them, but they have about 15 mac and cheese dishes that really sounded great. Add to that milkshakes or craft beers and we're ready for the $49.95 challenge...eat it all and you get it free. Piece of cake! read more

I was stoned outa my mind and hadn't eaten all day and I still couldn't enjoy this place. No matter what you do, do not get the $17 combo burger platter. It may seem like a solid deal being $3 less but they give you paper thin patties. They don't even resemble meat; so thin that the second you throw um on the grill they burn immediately. I had high hopes for this place too with their milk shakes lookin off the walls. There's no flavor in any of the items we ate here btw, you need to go hard on the sauce just to taste anything. The porkcrastinator burger is a hybrid grilled cheese burger. If you want to have a heart attack before you leave the place, this is the sandwich you want. The bread is so soaked in butter or whatever they use that it literally drips out of the bread and creates a sogginess factor to the entire experience. Also, the jalapeno popper looks like an alien, the pepper part is the gnarliest thing while eating the grilled cheese burger. Just to say again, I came here ready, this place looked lit af. Went there on a whim after seeing a show at CM Ministries. Staff was a bit disorganized. The bartender had to seat us, then came back with menus. Waited about another ten minutes before he realized no-one had come to the table and only HE made any effort to rectify it. Out the server comes and we order. My son ordered something which came with cheese and coleslaw which he asked to be omitted. Initially she said they were out, then came back to say they had one left. First three orders come out, all fine. Son's order comes to the table, coleslaw and cheese on it. I have yet to see my order, Impossible Burger, a seemingly innocuous order. Son's order goes back. Manager stops by to let him know they're making a fresh cut one for him then proceeds to ask how we're all enjoying our food. I point out that my burger appears to be lost. Another couple of minutes and my burger comes out. Obviously was sitting in the warming rack. Still not to bad though. As four of the five diners are finishing, son's entree finally comes. We come to the conclusion that this is likely just an off day or a random occurrence and the establishment is probably very good. We go out on a limb and order desert, bread pudding, brownie sundae and a shake. Bill gets handed to me before the desert gets to the table. Not overly shocked that we were charged in full. It would seem not every restaurant manager would go to great lengths to make up for errors or less than stellar service. Server comes back, they're out of bread pudding. Oddly, she left it at that, not, "may I suggest this or that", "is there something else I can offer you" just a sheepish grin and a you're shit out of luck. I've worked as a server, as a bartender and as a bar manager. NONE of these things would have taken place without me tripping over myself to make it up to the patron, ESPECIALLY on a 5 top. That's just math, bigger tab, happy customer, better tip. For the first time in my life I left a tip which was less than standard 15%. I do NOT like doing that as I understand how servers are paid. I stand by my tip however. We ordered and paid for approximately $80.00 worth of food. The service was mediocre at best, no one seemed to have a grip on what was available or sold out, and regardless of the kitchen being in almost full view one order was downright incorrect and another just sat there. Hopefully the server assess her job performance as does the manager. They would both make more money if they took better care to be sure their customers are satisfied. Again the food was pretty decent and the bartender, I wish I got his name, was very conscientious. I hope his tips are reflected in the service he provides. The size of the burger patty could have been confused with a McDonald's cheeseburger, and the pulled pork was almost non existent. It seems as if they got a new chef or they redid there an entire menu and it's a shame. They tried to cut back on ingredients and it really shows. Not understanding how this place is getting 5 star reviews. Sure, our server was very nice but our group didn't come for a smile, we came for ribs and DANG they were terrible!!! Dry meat, unappealing sauce and so gross. The sides were over seasoned (inedible) and oh, THE CORNBREAD WAS FROZEN! Elsa from frozen would be proud. I have been to Dang BBQ twice in the past few weeks. This place has the best BBQ on Long Island that I have tried and I have tried a lot of places. My two grown up sons and I love trying new places and love BBQ, Dang is our go to place for now on. The menu is fantastic. The prices are incredibly reasonable and of course the food is fantastic. The staff is very accomodating and nice. The first time we went we were waiting a bit and the manager came over with free bbq chips for us. The chips and the two bbq sauces on the table were fantastic. The Farmageddon sandwich is huge and delicious. Hey, everything we have tried there is great. We will be back. read more

Great bbq, might be incinerated to say best in the area. And that's coming from someone who lived in NC for 3 years. Orders can get messed up by a forgotten slaw or the like now and again so just make sure you check your takeout before leaving. Once noticed they're polite and quick to fix it. I am giving 3 stars based the overall experience. GOOD: The food was out of this world delicious! I started with the Smoked Piggy Poppers, which were the best jalapeno poppers I ever had. They were absolutely delicious. Then I had the Farmageddon Hero...It basically had everything you can think of on it. I got through half, and the other half I just had for lunch. It was incredible. SO-SO: The waitress was very upbeat, and very knowledgeable regarding the menu, as well as the different beers you serve. NOT SO GOOD: We were happy to wait the 45 minutes to get a table, because it was a full dining room. However, once we sat, it took 10 minutes for someone to even acknowledge us. We then were given menus and then our drink order. It was another 10 minutes for the waitress to come back to take our orders and answer questions. Then we waited at least 20 minutes to get our appetizers and another 20-30 minutes to get our main dishes. Now, I come from the service industry, so I know how it can be a wait when a place is packed. The problem is, by this time, there were only 4 or 5 tables still eating. When finished, they gave us our check. We take out our credit cards to pay and there was not one waitstaff on the floor. They were all in the kitchen or behind the bar laughing and talking with the bartender. After 10 more minutes we saw someone come out of the kitchen, so we called him over. He looked at us and turned to the hostess who was sitting and on her phone. She did not get up to come over either. Finally our waitress came and we paid. SUMMARY: Great food. Poor (but friendly) service. I will try it again and hope it gets better. read more
