Like most women, I struggle with finding the right Salon/Stylist who provides a good and professional services. Not just a stylist who can 'do' hair, but someone who care about the health of your hair and your OVERALL experience. I was so impressed that I scheduled an appointment for myself. The prices are reasonable, the location is convenient, the hours are accommodating, and the environment is Oh So Relaxing...haha. I have a stylist but she was booked and I needed to get my hair done before I hopped on the road for a quick trip. When I arrived, no one was in the lobby area or greeted me. So I walked into the main stylist room to say hello and give my name. She said someone would be with me soon. She (DeShonica) asked me what I was getting done and asked who referred me again. She said I would be getting a "complimentary" steam treatment b/c it was my 1st visit. Let me stop right here for a min... I spoke with DeShonica about a week prior by phone. I told her who referred me, I told her what I wanted to get done, I asked for the price, and she confirmed a time with me. I sent her a follow-up text to confirm too. OKAY back to the appointment day... This adorable shorter female was my shampoo girl (or so I thought), she was a chatty catty but very nice. She placed me under the steamer that dripped constantly b/c it wasn't adjusted to my height... whatever, I just put my hand there to avoid being drenched. I was under the steamer for a while, so I got out and was like can I please be rinsed. It took a while for me to be rinsed b/c chatty catty was doing someone else's hair. Again - all good no worries. I am rinsed out and asked by the shampoo girl if I had a picture of what my hair normally looks like, and if I knew what color perm rods that I use. *pause* YOU should know what perm rods to use based on my hair length. Why am I showing you what hairstyle I usually rock - just do my hair based on my request for a wash and rod set. I guess at the color rods that I use but I'm growing in my agitation. Shampoo girl proceeds to do my rod set while DeShonica is next to us doing someone else hair. The salon fills up from ladies to about 8 waiting on their hair to be done. I'm placed under the dryer, my cell dies, I arrived at 11:30 am and I ended up leaving at 4:30 pm. Here are my biggest issues and why despite her skills and popularity, I would advise going here: 1. Treat your referrals kindly. They have seen your work and clearly are hoping for a bomb experience. If someone is referred to a particular person - that person should be doing their hair. If I wanted any stylist (especially one whose work I've never seen) then I would go to a damn generic salon like Hair Cuttery)! 2. First impressions are everything as a new client. Although I have a person who is professional, quick, and manages her time well - this could have been my new stylist. Make a great impression to get that 1st timer to rave about you or come back. 3. COMMUNICATION - If I'm referred to you and you are booked with regulars communicate that OR formally introduce the stylist who will be taking over and preference their work or skillset. 4. If I'm getting a wash and style on short hair why is the cost of the service $65 (wash) and an additional $20 for a style? WTF! A damn wash and style should be one service. A add-on is a trim, cut, steam treatment, deep condition, etc. Who just gets their hair washed and dried but no style? Basically my "complimentary" steam treatment was included in the price. Nah son. I won't be back. I hate to write this but someone needs to be 100 in these reviews. If you have nothing to do in a day, then this salon is for you. Expect to be there forever and hope that the person you made your appointment with does your hair.

Asked for highlights and showed the owner a few photos of the color I wanted which was more towards the ashy blonde/light brown side and perhaps w/ pink or purple highlights. I was drawn to this salon because of the amazing pictures, so I did innately trust the owner who seemed to be extremely personable and professional to color my hair at least decently. Went home under natural light to find my hair color two shades darker and basically black with some barely there highlights behind my head that were inside my hair. Went to another hair salon ten days later to color correct, and the stylist literally said: "i don't get it, there are literally strands of white that haven't been dyed just like randomly put into the back of ur head". Felt like my hair was dyed on a whim, and she didn't really put much thought into if I liked it or not. I remember texting her to get a color adjustment before I took matters into my own hands-- she texted back once that she'd be willing to and then I never heard from her again after multiple attempts to reach out. It's funny cuz I would've dropped any amount of money just to get my desired result, and would've been a faithful repeat customer. The photos show the effect I wanted and what it turned out to be. I can't think of any other reason why they'd do this since they all seemed so nice, except that she thought she could get away with it.
