Overall, our experience with Dandelion was positive, and like any large, multi-phase project, there were some inconveniences that were resolved. Despite these issues, we would undertake the project again. We upgraded from an oil heating system (over 20 years old) to a geothermal system for heating and air conditioning. - Initial Consultation: In early November, Patrick interviewed us online to address our concerns. He analyzed the property using special software to determine if the project was feasible (considering dimensions and terrain) and provided us with an estimate for the entire project. - Feasibility Study: A few days later, a team of engineers visited the property to verify that the house met the requirements and proposed a system. We already had HVAC ducts in the house, although it was proposed to add more ducts to increase the volume of hot/cold air on the second floor. We felt that the team that came was very professional and used science to estimate the system. We had obtained quotes from other heating companies, but they did not seem as professional. - Drilling: Permits were submitted with the city around mid-November. By mid-December, the excavation was done. A team of two skilled workers carried out the vertical drilling to insert the pipes/loops that would later be connected to the house. One area for improvement throughout this process would be receiving notification a few weeks in advance that they were ready to come for the next phases. In general, we were notified only a couple of days in advance. It would be helpful to have a timeline diagram for the phases so that users know what to expect from subsequent steps. - Installation: At the end of March, we were informed that the loops would be connected to the basement of the house. Dandelion brought an excavator, and within a few hours, the loops were already installed in the basement. A week later, we were told that everything was ready to start the installation. Five vehicles arrived with various teams, and the system installation began. One team removed and disconnected the old equipment, another made duct connections for the new machine, another assembled the new equipment and installed the thermostat, and another filled the loops with the necessary fluid. By the end of the third day everything was installed. The week after installation, we had some issues, but as soon as we called to report them, we received a response and a technician was sent to resolve them. Almost a month after installation, the thermostat stopped working, but it was replaced, and it has been working well since. During the installation, we noticed a lack of communication between the teams (sales, design, engineering, installation, maintenance). It seems there is a need for a Project Manager to oversee all the aspects of the project, rather than the project being handed off between different teams. - Permit Closure: At the end of May, an electrical inspection took place that lasted no more than 10 minutes. Now, in early September, the final plumbing inspection was completed, and it was also very quick. It was originally planned for early July but was delayed due to availability issues with both us and the inspectors. Overall, all the employees from Dandelion who worked on the project were very friendly, with a good attitude and knowledge. It was evident that they were trying to do their job well. As mentioned at the beginning, despite communication issues, some changes, and problems that arose, we are satisfied.

We had great experience with all the people we dealt with including the energy consultant, drilling, trenching and the HVAC team. People were knowledgeable and explained the work being done with patience. The work site was always cleaned at end of the day and when the system was commissioned. Overall work was completed in less time than expected. The system itself is quiet and working efficiently since it was commissioned at end July. 2023.

Look what happened to my closet due to their design error.

I wish I read this article before hiring them: https://www.forbes.com/sites/jilliandonfro/2020/03/21/cold-bedrooms-cracked-foundations-why-some-homeowners-are-fuming-over-this-google-x-spinoffs-green-energy-mistakes/?sh=517dc37d69ec Its been a nightmare, they made mistakes in regards to the overall design of my system, which required them to add additional dutcwork leading the loss of half of a closet, a basement full of ductwork which looks like it belongs in an office building. The system is poorly sized, loud, the force of the air is strong and is not saving me any money. I wanted to love them, they look flashy with their apps and design team, but don't know what they are doing. They are too big, too fast. the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing You are better off with a local company that doesn't contract out and has the experience. Its ok that they don't have a flashy website.

My system was installed in the spring of 2023. It was active in June and we are very happy with the results. Every employee I have talked to from Dandelion has been nothing but professional and informative and the communication was always very good. If I have any questions they are quick to respond. The system is very quiet and produces a lot of heat in the winter and cooling in the summer and we have noticed a difference in our energy bill. The company was up front with the fact that it is not a quick process and heavy equipment will be needed to drill and trench to the house so knowing this I was not surprised I had to do some landscaping once the work was completed.

We're very pleased that we converted from oil to geothermal with Dandelion Energy. They made the process as seamless as possible. I reached out to a dandelion representative July 13 2021 and in July 14 2022 the geothermal installation was completed. Not bad considering all the planning and permits required for such a task. Our account manager was professional and courteous; he communicated the progress of the project and let us know what to expect. The drilling, excavation, and installation was done in a efficient and professional manner. I'm especially impressed with the contractors and electrician that worked with the geothermal installation in our house. They explained each step of the way and they were respectful of our home. They were great. We were able to have geothermal right before the heat wave in the summer. So far our house gets cool really quickly and stays cool during really hot days. With our old system it would take almost the whole day to cool down in really out weather. When it was 90 degrees our house went down to and maintained a cool 73degrees like it was nothing. It takes no time at all to get hot water from the tap. We felt that we were in great hands. I recommend going with Dandelion if you want to convert to geothermal.

I'm happy with the system itself, but the customer service needs some real improvement. Be ready for it if you're going to use them.

The split system we purchased handles both heating a cooling without the need to be tied to home heating oil.

The tank & drainage was a nightmare or practically nonexistent . We heard water flowing into the tank which is not a good sign . Wyatt suggested I have him and Alvin come and take a look and inspect the tank further in a couple of days . Much to my surprise, I got a call the very next day. The very next day I had a call from T Webber stating that Alvin and Wyatt were on route to my house. The next day after he cleared the clog out for me in my house . Alvin and Wyatt showed up . Did an inspection, answered every question I could possibly have. By the end of that conversation, we had called Tiffany up on the phone, and got a prorate at a good price with good APR, and the loan was approved . Alvin, wyatt, and Tiff made my day an took so much weight off my mind. Alvin explained everything down to a science Wyatt went over everything with me and reassured me and Tiffany found the best rate possible for me and was reassuring as the loan came in to verify every detail of the job that would be taking place. A weight was lifted . I was worried about so many different things . These guys at T Webber were an amazing group of people, that reassured me, and helped me to realize that every problem has a solution, and made every solution possible where I didn't have to worry about a thing . They answered every question in triplicate lol. As many times as I'd ask, they were courteous and I enjoyed the time they spent in my home going over the description of the job details that would take place . A company that goes above and beyond to help Rectify any problem you might have whether it be septic clogs or any other issues with plumbing and heating services. These technicians are the pros . They're all well worth their weight in gold ! I was actually sorry to see them go but I look forward to seeing them back when the job begins . The guys sat with me for as long as it took to get everything we needed in place for availability explanation of job description as well as the engineers that would be coming with the excavator to do the initial dig . Alvin described every part of it as he looked over every part of the property to find the best way to accommodate this whole nightmare of a situation that I had . By the time he got done.
