MetroAire is a great HVAC company. They have serviced and installed several different units and several different brands in 4 new construction projects for me. They are honest and diligent, and very reliable. John and Sandy make the process easy. In manhattan, they have installed Trane units for me, new central Air and Riehm Hot water heaters. In Rockland, they've done a great job with older units, servicing and diagnosing, AO Smith and some other brands. Great company, and they stand by all of their work. read more

Our AC stopped working on the hottest night of the year. We called 3 local HVAC companies; one could not for 4 days, one was not taking new customers. Metro-Aire said, let us see what we can do. The receptionist and scheduling team could not have been nicer. They were completely booked for the day, as expected, but would monitor to see if anything opened up. Thankfully a time slot opened in the afternoon, just when our house hit 80 degrees. Dion, our technician, quickly found the problem, explained what had happened, and promptly fixed it. In mid June, called Taconic Heating & Air but they were booked 5 weeks out and luckily Metro-Aire had availability later in the week. Their technician, Steve, was knowledgeable and helpful in providing useful tips on maintaining my HVAC system. Plus, their rates are very reasonable. $129 first half hour and then $85 each additional 1/2 hour. Others companies charge more for something that should only take ~ 30-40 minutes. read more

They get a 1 star from me and they didn't do anything. I called to make an consultation appointment for HVAC and was told they would be there between 11am-1pm, when I called to confirm the girl on the phone told me that the guy day has turned out to be full and he wouldn't be able to make it. I was like really are you kidding me, so if I hadn't call they wouldn't have told me. They offered Friday but I declined. Clearly they are not professional enough and they don't keep their word. I am a firm believer in first impressions and their first impression was mediocre at best. I told them I would call a different company. I rather give my hard earn money to someone that deserve it. read more

I took the day off to get a furnace replacement estimate. Said they would call with a time to come out between 11 and 1. They finally called after 5 pm to say the owner had an emergency and they forgot to call. If they can't keep an appointment for an estimate, what would happen if I hired them! Glad they showed they're lack of professionalism up front. No thanks! Avoid at all cost! read more

I have been a satisfied customer of John Danko and Metro-Aire for over a decade. In the past three years I have had Metro-Aire replace my HW Heater, AC system, and just this week my boiler system. My heat system was 28 years old and running perfectly, in fact John said that it was still in good condition and he could continue to keep it that way, a fact I attribute to their annual servicing through the years. I elected to act conservatively and replace it anyway. It has only been in two days but already I am very happy with it. The install went well and his crew was professional and worked diligently all day. They provided a detailed proposal with options and rebate information for making my selection. There were no surprises! They also provide all the necessary paperwork and licensed plumber etc. ( as an aside liked their plumber think I finally have a good plumber to call for regular plumbing needs ) I live in a condo. Many of my neighbors use Metro-Aire, several on my personal recommendation, none have ever complained that I steered them wrong. Recently a neighbor across from me had his boiler fail. The outfit he contracts with responded and gave him no option other than replacement, said they couldn't get parts too old. The neighbors were not ready to replace it. I recommended he call Metro-Aire as I knew if anyone could get them through the winter and give them some breathing room to prepare for replacement it would be them. Yes John's guys got them up and running same day, recommended replacement as well but got them through this grueling winter at least. I believe they are now another satisfied Metro-Aire customer. I must admit that I understand the frustration of the previous reviewer who had a missed appointment for an estimate. Sadly I have found that dealing with any contractor in the area of scheduling is a pain in the a.. Nature of the beast unfortunately! Getting the date of my install was tough because of weather and availability issues and I too get frustrated. Still in the end, honest work, price, and job quality makes my dealings with John and company well worth it! I would be remiss if I didn't mention Patty in the office who has always been simply great. As always on my recent install she had all the rebate information, provided me the forms filled with their part completed etc. Always a pleasure to deal with either by phone or email. One last note. Having been a customer for so long I take note that many of their technicians have been with them for years. Always a good sign when I do business with someone. We recently had central air installed in our home, and from the first contact to the project being completed it was handled quickly and professionally. All of our million questions were answered and everyone who came into our house were nothing but complete gentlemen. If we weren't home we would have never even known anyone was there - they did not leave a speck of dust behind. They even gave us idea to do in our home to maximize the efficiency of our unit.
