Fantastic treasure, I love this place, even if your not in the market for botanicals, it's a great place to browse in a great neighborhood.

I adore Dandelion. Best bulk herbs, salts and soaps around! My cats too rate Dandelion as the best catnip pushers out there. Prime nip!

I do love going to these types of stores and put it in my mind on a return trip to stop in and check out the store. Well we made a another visit to town a few weekends ago and we made a stop here. Like any good and complete Co-op (I have run into bad ones) the products are of good quality and the food is organic. There is a nice deli area where you can get sandwiches and food bar to dish up if your heart desires it. There is a good health and beauty section where like the quality of the food is a few grades above a run of the mill grocery store which the quality can be questionable and if it's ethically sourced (same concern goes to food too). I purchased a few cans of beer and hop water. The hop water was quite good but it is from a brewery that we have a very high regard for so not a huge surprise. They have a considerable beer and wine selection which is nice. This is a great place to go and support... something I can really get behind is to support local businesses!

They offer great local produce, very quality meats, and apothecary items as well. The supplement and vitamin section is very large with lots of top brands. Very helpful staff and clean store. I recommend dropping into this place in your way into downtown., or when leaving, grab a snack for the road.

This was such a delightful find. Driving up to visit a few of my fav vegan spots in B'ham, I…read moredecided to change plans and veer east towards Arlington to finish my morning latte & oatmeal (picked up in Everett prior to) in a chill setting. Located on the main drag, walking up to the storefront, the signage was thoughtful and pleasantly detailed. Venturing inside, the whole feel isn't much to brag about (mostly drab, outdated vibes and inexpensive lighting). There are a few spread out pieces of what appears to be 90's era stock contemporary Frasier-esque artwork along the walls to give credit there. Just really no "pulse" and understandably so during global health crisis. The main reason I wanted to jump on here was for their SELECTION. Oh. My. God. I mean, sure, you could find Lara Protein bars at WF, bulk spices at Central Co-op, natural/organic snacks at PCC, multi-purpose natural new-brand-to-me cleaner at Marlene's Market & Deli, No Cow bars at QFC - that's all definitely cool - BUT for a store of this size, in such a dated space and in this small rural town, the sheer selection of goods is really super impressive & truly admirable! Seriously, I was grinning at times like a kid in a candy store - and this tends to happen more-so when you can realize and appreciate certain things. Some lesser-known unique products that stuck out at a glance were D'vash nectars, Pukka Tea milled blends, numerous brands new to me, etc. I was so happy for this unexpected detour. Plus, they're just some of life's most interesting detours, anyway. My curiosity was livid but I managed a small haul for a No Cow lemon meringue bar, squash/veggie/herb pretzels and GloryBee organic date sugar (I'd no idea approx 1/3 of date sugar volume has fiber - rad!). One thing to note was that many items were "expired". Depending on the ingredients, expired items can be 1 of many things: 1) gross, toss out; 2) still edible but perhaps more bland; 3) still edible and wouldn't know the difference. Ask the online community if you want some expiry guidance or call them. Compared to perishables, shelf-stable product "expiry" limits technically can vary wildly from printed dates so just check & learn about them. One older lady was working between the 2 adjacent spaces. She's really quiet and I didn't seek any help during my perusing but at checkout she seemed rather pleasant with a few questions I had and gave me half-off for the expired items. Get your derriere up/down/over here and check it out for yourself with an open-mind to see where your eyes wander and products you learn about. if driving this far from Seattle/etc is discouraging, then just combine the day trip with other local activities/places to visit/try - make it a field trip! *** This review was written during the local COVID-19 Advisory as businesses were limiting operations. Ordering is usually done via QR code, but they are also happy to orders at the register. One thing to note: on our visit, the restaurant left the front door open and didn't turn on heating so we found it rather cold inside. Clam Chowder in Sourdough Bread Bowl ($14) - Salty Girls has one of the best preparations for chowder bread bowls I've encountered. They expertly hollow out the center as much as absolutely possible, leaving maybe only half an inch of bread on the sides (I think they use the trimmings to make their homemade croutons). This allows them to ladle in the maximal amount of clam chowder, much more than most I've had in the past. While I believe the bread is some commercial one, it has a distinct, but light, sourdough taste and doesn't have the overwhelming taste of stabilizers and preservatives that some bread bowls run into. It's toasted very nicely, giving a fantastic crust, while the interior bread remains light rather than dense, yet holds up to the chowder well. The chowder itself is pretty good. It's thickened, but still just runny enough to not feel like it's been over reduced. Not clumpy or super heavy as some other chowders. There's a strong herbal quality in the mix, combined with large pieces of clam and bacon. The amount of clam isn't very generous, but there's enough of the chewy mollusk to get at least a piece per spoonful. Lots of tender diced potato chunks complete the chowder. There's by far the most potato in terms of ingredients in this dish, making it very carb heavy. The chowder is served steaming hot and remains quite hot for a long while even in the cold air of the restaurant. (4/5) Crab Melt ($18) - Interesting open faced sandwich, with the crusty heel portion of a ciabatta roll, toasted until crispy on the flats, but still softer on the interior, albeit thin. It's topped with an ice cream scoop of crab salad. The salad is essentially tuna salad with the crab substituted for tuna. This means there's a ton of crab and not much filler - plenty of sweet shreds of crab meat, mixed with a couple of crunchy pieces of celery in a creamy sauce. The crab salad is then topped with cheese, then the entire creation is broiled until the cheese on top becomes bubbly and the cheese that flows down the sides of the bread becomes essentially a crunchy cheese skirt. Something to note, not necessarily a negative, is that the center of the crab salad scoops remains cold, which is in stark contrast to the warmed exterior. The dish comes with a side of ridged kettle chips. Robustly crunchy, simply salted. Surprisingly good to dip into the clam chowder in fact. (4/5) Salty Girls definitely serves some good seafood dishes. I certainly wouldn't mind returning the next time I'm in Seqium.
