It's just a fence......... Ashley was our project manager, and she did all she could to help me get through the issues of my fence, which I appreciate. The actual installation of the fence is where the disconnect comes. The contractors are there to put up a fence. However, that may go. Since Dandale employs these people, I assume they are up to the company's standards and living up to Dandale's mission. I assume they have worked on other projects and have gotten approval, making their resolution and customer service how Dandale wants the experience to go. After my wood fence install, I had concerns about some of the wood quality used. The contractors dismissed me six times, saying they had to use it, and gave me the final walkthrough paper to complete on my FIRST final walkthrough. The final walkthrough paper is misleading because to sign is agreeing that "you are 100% satisfied," which was not true in my case. After getting in touch with Dandale and showing pictures, the contractors had a change of heart and suddenly left and returned with better wood quality. After changing the pickets and one rail post, I pointed out two more. Instead of changing the whole rail, they cut it with a chainsaw, cutting into the post simultaneously. They then put a new half piece up (for some reason, leaving the other half of the poor-quality wood still there) while leaving the splice in the post and the point where they connected unevenly showing. To make matters worse, they left without a walkthrough, meaning there was still another rail similar to this janky fix that needed attention, but at that point, I no longer wanted the same crew and mentioned this to Dandale when I contacted them with the new update. The answer: The same crew returned a third time to put a picket OVER the unsightly uneven half-board connection they made (hiding it) and did not address the issue of driving off. I asked the contractors for a new crew to do the final repairs, but they insisted on doing the last rail and, this time, did a final walkthrough with another family member. I still don't know what it looks like a day later, nor do I care to know. Dandale approves their methods, so there is no need to continue to go back and forth. My experience is why I say Gillian oversold the company. It is not a miracle fence company that only does fences and has the highest quality products. Some may be true, but it does not translate to an experience, unlike any other fencing company. My experience was not the highest experience or quality (without much back and forth). It is just a fence company that CAN put up a nice fence. It is not worth automatically stopping here just for the name or what the salesperson says at the two-hour quote (and yes, it takes two whole hours) CONS Pressure cooker: Personal preference probably, but I do not like making decisions on the spot. When you get the quote, you must accept it at the table or lose it. Another pressure cooker moment is when doing the final walkthrough; you are walking through with the same people with whom you may have voiced concern and had to go back and forth. Uncomfortable, especially if you have the same number of back and forth as I did. Problem-solving: When you have an issue with the contractors, they send the same contractors out to fix the problem you have already told them about. For me, this meant them leaving and coming back too many times. By the last time, it is clear that customer service is out the window. Quality: The contractors ignore the quality of the materials when picking, loading, unloading, or using them. Only some of the wood is poor quality, as most of mine was good; however, to boast that you have the highest quality product means you vet through the material. From my experience, this is not the case. It is "you get what you get." PROS: They offer a flat rate Military Discount They handle your HOA They advertise to have a five-year warranty (I cannot attend to how this will go, but I may have to use mine) The consult to get a quote is scheduled quickly The process from beginning to end is done as soon as possible The contractors were pleasant Gillian bleeds Dandale (she may have oversold the company, but she deserves every bit of acknowledgment for how she represents them) The direct Dandale employees are pleasant, professional, and friendly. read more

Installers were not at all clear what the fence design was supposed to be and framed as a normal shadow box instead of what was discussed with the sales person.. picture framed shadow box. the framing was complete before I saw it was wrong. We went ahead and allowed them to continue as is.. No one from the company ever came to property at beginning or end of project. The company really needs to think about how they are running projects. In the end the fence look okay but I had them leave some some fence planks so I can replace some boards that are not (I feel )correct. I felt like my wife and I were the project managers. read more

Dan Dale comes out and seems highly impressive in terms of what they can offer and how knowledgeable they are around your options for fencing. However their sales tatics are for their sales reps to lie and promise you they can get things done and then pressure you into signing right on the spot to get the best offer. They then can't live up to what they say they can do. I was told they had done a number of fences in my neighborhood and assured I would have no issues with HOA getting the fence I wanted implemented and they would handle the whole process. This did not happen they got rejected by HOA and then asked me to just change my plan and do something else. I spent months trying to appeal with HOA and then when I couldn't get the project I wanted approved I asked for my deposit back. They do not want to give it back and say they have done so much administrative work and thus will not refund me. I would not go with them they have very shady sales practices and are not an honorable company like they claim to be. read more

Dale did a great job on our new Alum. fence our salesman Chris Scott was very helpful and responsive. The only marginally negative thing I have to say is, if you're thinking about a fence, be prepared to sign with them the first time they come out, because you lose discount if you don't. DanDale delivered too few spires. The sub out the fence installation. The contractor who installed the fence tried to space out the spires such that it would be useless as a fence. I had to call DanDale and act as the go-between for the two parties. It felt like I was a contractor, not a customer. DanDale delivered more spires, but in the end the spires are still too far apart to stop my dog from escaping. I will be tearing down the fence and putting up a new one with a different contractor. In the end, I have wasted thousands of dollars and hours of my precious time. DanDale has a very aggressive sales technique and even more aggressive ratings management. They literally ask for five star reviews on every platform you can think of. They should concentrate more on delivering a quality product and building customer loyalty. read more

I just had the weirdest phone call with DanDale Fence. When I made the appointment for a quote they asked that all adults in the home be present and I was like, okay, whatever. I am the homeowner and decision maker and my mother moved in with me last year following a surgery. She has no say in big decisions regarding my home. They just called to confirm that the salesman was on his way out (an hour early) and they wanted to ensure that all adults would be present. I informed them that I was going to be alone for the presentation and they said that they only come out if all adults are present. There is no reason why my elderly mother who has ZERO say in who I buy a fence from would have to sit through a 60-90 minute (!) sales pitch. I told them not to bother coming out. Maybe they build great fences, I don't know. There is something way off about this company and there are about a million others to choose from so I highly recommend doing so. read more

Nice people but poor communication when they hand you off to other employees (salesman to project manager to construction manager to subcontractor, and everyone else in between). Submitted incorrect plan to City for approval. Absolutely no oversight on subcontractors. Began installing my fence in the wrong location, after I'd paid for the additional site survey and property line pin marking and walked the site with the sub. I didn't leave a review initially following the install due to fear that if there was warranty work they would give me a hard time. Now there is work that should be covered under warranty (gate drop rod concrete popped out due to limited depth during install), and they will not correct the work without additional payment. This final interaction is very minor but speaks to the poor workmanship, oversight of subs, and customer care of this company. read more

I should have checked Yelp before wasting my time with DanDale Fence as they proudly brag about their "stellar" customer reviews but then you see their 1.8 rating on Yelp and can't help but feel like that's more appropriate then what they claim. I put in request last week for a free estimate as they advertised and have been shocked at how insanely difficult they make this. I've never seen a company that tries so hard to push customers and their money away. Horrible business practices as I have a large fence need and could've been easy money for them but after multiple attempts I can't even get an estimate. After my first request, a customer rep Katy called me for more info which I provided. I told her we had to make our final selection within a week as we want to get it installed very soon before our pets/dogs move down to new house we just purchased. Katy said that we all decision makers must be present when estimate is given and that includes my wife. I explained that my wife is still living out of state as we are running 2 households for a few months during the transition and I have to get everything ready before she moves down here. I told her that my wife was coming down for 1 night on upcoming weekend and she said she'd book someone but then later changed her mind saying they only had one sales person in the area and she didn't want to put too much on his plate. I told Katy I didn't know for sure when she'd be down again as it's a 5 hour drive and that she wasn't even needed there as I'm the some decision maker on large financial purchases. Katy kept insisting that she had to be there and they won't come unless she's available but it makes no sense as I'm the only decision makers on this so I'm only one who should be needed and Katy refusing to accept that is being extremely judgemental on my relationship as I've always been the sole decision maker on large financial purchases in our entire 27 years of marriage. How dare Katy judge my relationship. Katy refused to budge on this and I got red flags and asked why they run this like a timeshare presentation? It seems like they are setting it up for extremely high pressure sales pitches and if their services are as good as they claim why would they need to result to such high pressure? Katy said there was a work around for getting me an estimate after I said I would go with another company instead. Katy said we could draw our fence location on their website which sounds ridiculous to me, especially since I'm a horrible drawer and I had already provided them with my property survey and all they have to do is build the fence on the survey line. Why do I need to do some silly drawing? I said I wasn't interested in that so Katy offered to draw it for me based on my property survey so I agreed and she said I'd have an estimate within 48 hours. I later saw that in her estimate she put me down for the most expensive fencing options with 6 ft privacy fence, which I have no interest in so I let her know I wanted 4 ft picket fence but never got a response. I eventually did my own silly drawing so that I could at least get a better estimate on the actual type of fence I wanted. I received message from system I would get estimate within 48 hours. 5 while days went by (way more than 48 hours) and finally the quote person messaged me just to tell me he hasn't been feeling well and hasn't done my quote yet but will try and get it done within the next couple of days. This is unacceptable as I already told Katy several times I needed to make final decision in less than a week but in almost a week of requests still no estimate. If that's not annoying enough he went on say that before finalizing the estimate he would need to have a call with both me and my wife both on the call. Again, she is not even in the state and I am the ONLY decision maker on this. Why does this company continue to disrespect the roles within my marriage? I responded to his email that waiting another 2 days to maybe get an estimate (when we were promised one within 48 hours and we're now going on 7-days) is too long and won't do us any good as I need to make a decision sooner than that. He never responded back and I even messaged Katy back in the issue and stated if I can't get an estimate earlier than I have to eliminate them from possibility of hiring them. Katy clearly didn't care as she never responded back either. If this company is this difficult BEFORE they even are hired to do a job I can't even imagine the nightmare they are after they've been paid. I had the worse experience with DanDale Fence Company. The install was over 13k which was a balloon figure with no breakdown in what you are actually paying for. That should have been the first sign of a company that is not a good company do business with. I had approx 106 feet of vinyl privacy fence with two gates installed. The workers installed the hardware on the wrong side of the vinyl fence and the foreman did not even show up to give the workers guidance on the install day. The third day the foreman shows up with different install workers to correct the errors the the first install workers had made to my vinyl gates. The foreman and project manager used defected vinyl and tried to do a bait and switch with my vinyl order as a paying customer. I refuse the corrected vinyl and asked to speak with a manager. The manager never contacted me but I was given another staff member to voice my concern and the integrity issue of DanDale Fence Company. After discussion, the staff member sent another installer out to review the work. The new installer reviewed the defects in the install in question and he contacted the main office for a replacement order. After another 10 days, the new install came back to my house and install the new gates and fence. This ordeal was very stressful and cause a lot of anxiety. DanDale Fence Company service was awful from the workers, the foreman, the project manager and manager. I am absolutely appalled by my experience with Dan Dale and feel compelled to share this negative review. Their communication was utterly atrocious from start to finish. I was consistently met with radio silence, unanswered emails, and phone calls that went straight to voicemail. When I *did* manage to get someone on the phone, I was met with a distinct lack of respect. My concerns were dismissed, and I was made to feel as if I were bothering them. The most egregious issue, however, was their refusal to refund the $3800 deposit for a *fence on a home I ultimately did not purchase at the time the contract was signed. I explained to them that due to financial reasons I would like to cancel the contract, well before 30 days after signing contract. However, I was relayed back to the individual sales representative that met with me to provide a quote prior to closing on the home. I have written them an email requesting cancellation and return of deposit and have been advised that they would not do so. Nothing was ever approved through the HOA and therefore no work was ever completed at my property. Despite clear communication about our decision and extenuating circumstances, they have been completely unwilling to return our money. This is not only unprofessional but, in my opinion, unethical. Update - I got two competitive bids - BOTH were in the ballpark of $5k less than Dandale. I believe they must rely on people not getting competitive bids(?) I know I was so excited to get a fence for my new yard (doggies can't wait) I ::embarrassingly:: didn't until things started going awry. I also suspect they've had negative reviews removed - I got an email from the owner Jordan (after I let him know I've cancelled the contract amid the list of issues with his team including lack of delivery on commitments, uncomfortable physical behavior from his sales guy and the obvious price gouging) he says "I'm sorry. If you'll remove the negative reviews I'll give you your deposit back."). Last thing he should have said. To be fair, I am getting repeated follow up emails from him and that's a good thing. I believe he's sincere. The thing is he's only sincere in trying to justify for himself why he should give up my deposit and not sue me rather than listen and understand what I've now had to tell him more than once in email and on here. I've been clear if the $500 is as important to him as putting us both through these paces, he can keep it. (I don't have it to waste but feel with the emails and aggravation it's practically been spent in anxiety anyway). Fundamentally I'm going with guys who so far have lived up to their equally benign commitments and whose estimate is $5k less. I recently had a fence installed by DaneDale fence. I would have given a higher review because I was pleased with the installers and the installation of my fence however I was not happy with the communication or I should say lack of communication received from the project manager Connor. I reached out to Connor via email because I was provided his information and I was told that I would hear from hear from him a few days prior to my installation but never heard from him so I called him and spoke to him briefly and then he said we could do my walkthrough over the phone. He was calling out measurements over the phone but I would have preferred a face to face walkthrough at my property. The morning of of my installation I did not hear from Conner. The installers came on time but I ended up calling Connor because when the installers came out they were asking me questions about markings on the property and I did not specifically know how to answer and felt that they should already know this information since they install fences. I left Connor a voice-mail message because he did answer my call and I alled the Dandale office telling them my concern and was told that Connor was in a meeting and that he would call back but he never did. I at least thought that he would care to call back later in the day to see how things went and I did not hear from him the whole day. I think it was very unprofessional of Connor not to respond or check in with me and he's supposed to be the project manager for the project. Suppose I had other questions or major concerns , I would not have received any help. I think communication is very important especially when you are spending thousands of dollars to get a project done. Due to this, I would be very hesitant to recommend Dandale to my family or friends especially if communication is important to you. read more

I had an appointment scheduled for this company to give me an estimate on a privacy fence. Once Ryan with Dan Dale found out I got estimates from other companies he suggested we take a "step back". He suggested that Dan Dale may not be the place for me bc during my other estimates no one mentioned codes, needing surveys or a building permit. The tone of the conversation went to a suggestion that he would call me back after he regrouped bc he felt like it was going to be much more expensive to me than I was prepared for. I in a state of complete disrespect told Ryan I'm completely prepared for a high estimate and if Dan Dale doesn't want my business no problem it's unfortunate bc I'm paying in cash. IF my cash isn't good enough than I will be happy to take my business elsewhere. Ryan with Dan Dale responded with your appointment for 8am estimate is canceled have a good night.! I certainly hope customer service gets better. If you ASSUME your clients can't afford your estimates. That's a huge problem. If you deny a job bc a customer shopped around first. Huge problem. This was a CASH job. What business is too good for cash in the hand. It's a sad day when someone can't get an estimate on a fence bc the fence companies employee passed judgement on the customer. If I could give this company a zero I would. The fact that the sales person tried to tell me I needed a Survey to build a fence bc it was a National Code. That I needed a building permit to build the fence. That it would take months to get this permit. I questioned the employee and told him it was untrue. Here's the facts: NC law states you must have a fence of 4 foot around a pool. I wanted an estimate for a 6 foot tall privacy fence. By county each code, and permit rules and regulations change. Employee Ryan stated it was the same nationwide. I'm sorry Ryan but that's a LIE. Please educate yourself better especially when speaking to a very well educatedwoman who you assumed was broke, and just plain stupid. Here's the breakdown folks: the prices of getting a fence is expensive. This company took it up a level. They are preying of the weak and hoping they will get that one person who will believe the misinformation such as codes, building permits and surveys. Just be grateful for business. To preface this review, I'm not one to leave bad reviews. But I want to make consumers aware of our experience with DanDale Fence in Hampton Roads so others can make an informed decision when choosing a fence company. I DO NOT recommend this company. Companies like DanDale Fence make it hard for consumers to trust other businesses. You are led to believe that their company is top-notch and all about customer satisfaction but in reality you are paying extra for inflated staff, unnecessary extras (ex.property survey) and MISLEADING/SNEAKY marketing tactics. At the end of the day, you're just getting subcontractors putting up a wooden fence with NO oversight and little concern for the customer. And of course the subcontractor wasn't going to address any of the things my husband pointed out during the walk-through. They just said, "oh, just contact the company and they'll send someone out to take care of it." Consider a local company like Mr.Fence who quoted $3600 less than DanDale. If you want to read further, this was our experience: Bxxxx, the sales consultant was very good at selling us the idea that they're the best in the business, and assured us any issues would be handled by them. Well, my Fios cable was cut during install even though it was CLEARLY marked. And we later found out that they cut my neighbors internet cable as well. My husband also reiterated and showed the crew where they needed to be careful when digging. The project manager, Hxxxxx was NOT on-site at any time during the install, although we were led to believe he would be present to oversee the progress. I spoke with him over the phone regarding the cut line and he stated that "nothing could be done and that it's just the nature of the business." He was quite arrogant in my opinion, stating "it's my call, I have the final say." I requested a price adjustment in which he initially said No. But when I called again to speak to the manager, I was transferred back to him and he proceeded to say, "this is against protocol but I could knock off $100," as if he was doing me a favor and that was somehow going to make a difference in lost work and time (I work from home and my job solely relies on a secure internet connection), repair of the FiOS lines and the inconvenience it had caused. The project manager could've handled my call better with a little more understanding, and willingness to come up with a REASONABLE resolution. But instead I was met with a patronizing "yes, ma'am" reply and a "put-off" vibe. Don't fall victim to their marketing gimmicks. We asked to speak to the general manager, Txxx Mxxxxxx, several times but were given the runaround. Our calls were always transferred back to Hxxxxx, the so-called project manager who didn't even know the crew that came out to do our install. DanDale subcontracts installation, Contract states walk through before after job, never happened. They ask for part of payment before start but start calling right before job is to start wanting remainder. Charged additional 600 for property survey but nothing mark. When very young day laborors showed up for installation ask me where to put fence, didnt know how to use tape measure or line. Post/ fence very uneven, they cut off fence posts and left then in ground im my flower bed and fence line to fill up with water, now have mosqito issue. Caps cant go on posts because they inserted posts to close to building. Was hung up on by John Azillo, and Tyler, both managers. My fence was a foot to tall when all was said and done. Its caused alot of problems because I live in Condominium. Be careful, sales dept very kind and make you feel confident that they will do great job but not really. Im going to have to pay someone to come fix this 10,000 job. Day of installation couldnt get in touch with JohnAzillo. He only called at 8pm that night after it was to late and fence was put in. Im sorry I trusted this company, Big headache, tremendous stress and now more money. When you call all that happens is they start; he said she said and they lie then hang up on you. We contacted a few companies to get a vinyl fence for our new home and DanDale were the only ones to get back to us, and they did so the same day. They were able to get a salesman out that week, gave us an estimate and from there it was smooth sailing. We had to make a few adjustments when the installer came for the walkthrough, which was no problem and ensured that we got the fencing we really wanted. I couldn't recommend them enough. They were professional, timely (one guy got the job done in 3 days), and had great communication throughout the entire project. There is nothing I can say that adequately describes the quality of workmanship we experienced with our DanDale built fence. Every post is cemented in, and allowed to set for a day, and gate support posts (hinge side) are all 6 x 6 ---and solid as a rock. We have a crossbuck fence--- and all the details are perfect. Nothing is left to chance, from the initial sale, and subsequent measurements, questions about materials---pre installation and post work walk throughs. No detail missed. I can not say enough about Judah Stein the builder. Everything about him, knowledge, efficiency and professional demeanor and quality of work are why I am writing this review . At this point he had not even given me a price. I told him that I was not going to buy today and he told me he would come back when I was ready to buy. We did not hire Dandale Fence, this review is based only upon our experience with the customer service team and sales team for the quoting process. I scheduled a quote for 2/27/2020 at 6PM, when the customer service rep called to confirm the appointment a day or two prior, the appointment time because 6:30PM. No big deal, 30 minutes will not make or break my evening. At 6:15PM on the day of the appointment, the customer service rep called to let me know that the sales rep was stuck in traffic and would arrive about 10 minutes late. Okay, again no big deal. At 6:40PM the sales rep called to let me know he was just leaving his previous customers home and should arrive in 20 minutes. Again I tried to remain patient, at 7:25 the sales rep called to let me know he was 10 min away. He arrived at 7:40 PM. He did not have protective shoe covers and wore his shoes in our home, he took an hour and 20 minutes to measure the yard and provide a quote. Mixed in there was small talk and a sales pitch, after presenting the quote we told him that we would be getting additional quotes before making a decision. The sales rep proceeded to tell us that obtaining additional quotes was the "old way of doing business", my husband and I both have procurement backgrounds and know not to fall for these types of sales pitches. He then also proceeded to tell us if we would sign a contract that night, he would be able to take $1,200 of the price. Another red flag, that is a large amount to be able to take off without having inflated pricing. We politely declined and he went on his way. We did not receive any follow up calls. We did obtain two additional quotes that were over $5,000 less than Dan Dale, I highly recommend that you do your homework before just signing on the dotted line!! Even if DanDale had been the same price as the other two vendors, we would have chose someone else. Due to the extreme lateness of the sales rep and the long drawn out quote process, 2 1/2 hours of my time wasted time. read more

Let's start with the disorganization. You will only speak with a girl named Taylor. She's really nice and I hope she's overpaid for how much crap she has to put up with. When I would call her she always stopped her home life by the sound of it and would pleasantly band aid whatever I was calling about. It was always pure bs. These people are not a fencing company they sub out everything and have no integrity for work. The men on the job were really nice but one was wearing sandals. Do you understand how uncomfortable I was for a man to be working with nails in sandals? I was desperate I wanted it done so I shut up I already paid 4,600 and I knew darn well they weren't going to do anything. Crooks from start to finish. They came late, said they were working x days and did not. Did not pick up. Left nails in the grass. Blocked my driveway with a dumpster (didn't think to knock or call). The wood sat in my driveway for two weeks which was just a pain in the butt. The warranty is bogus the 'contract' leaves them out of liability for all of this. In conclusion this is how I was screwed over and got a 1300$ job with scrap lumber (saved the tags called the yard) yet I paid $4,600. Pretty neat lawsuit waiting to happen. *** Edit *** Just received a very passive aggressive voicemail from the 'owner' who inquired as to why I'm leaving a review 6 months after install. It was installed the end of September / beginning October theses pictures attached are from the installation date emailed directly to DanDale fence. As everyone is gearing up for the coming Spring/Summer season I urge you to go with a quality company. You cannot trust these people to do the job you are paying them to do plain and simple. Honestly shocked that a business would call and ask 'why did you leave me a bad review' the picture speaks for itself. Looking back now cringey behavior is there MO. Nothing makes me feel good about having done business with these people. I don't even trust these folks to fix what they've already done & I had 3 other fencing companies out before deciding with Dan Dale. So if you've read this much look for a place that's been around for a long long time. This company has not been around since 2013 the installers themselves states it's been closed to 2017 which based off Angies list etc seems about accurate. This is a slosh bucket economic venture for someone who has the privilege of buying their way into a business. It's clear by the customer service and false integrity of work. read more

The customer service I received from Dan Dale Fence was less than a 0. They are liars and full of empty promises. They can't manage even the smallest of jobs. My fence was only 63 feet and it took more than a month for them to get it installed. They ordered the wrong materials and didn't even have anyone QA the shipment before it was sent to my house. When the installer finally arrived, 2 days later than scheduled, they didn't do anything but make holes in my yard. The correct material finally arrived almost 2 weeks after the initial install date and the installers didn't show up until another day later. When they completed the job, there was a small flaw in one piece of the fence and a huge mess in my yard from where they dug the holes and threw the dirt, rocks and trash all over my yard. Dan Dale promised me they would compensate me for the major mistakes they made, and I had to cancel my reservations I had over the holiday weekend that were non-refundable. Dan Dale promised me I would compensated at least half of my loss and here we are 2 weeks after the install and still nothing from the multi million dollar company Dan Dale Fence. They have ZERO customer service. I wish I could attach the pictures of the final product, it took me 5 hours and 7 wheel barrels of dirt and rocks to get my yard cleaned up. If you need a fence don't call this company. From our experience they do not care about the customer, they only care about the money the customer pays. read more

We had a great experience with this company. We received a free quote with Vernon, who was very friendly and knowledgeable about the products used. We decided to purchase a vinyl fence for our new home and the fence was installed within 2 weeks of the quote. Installation team was friendly, fast, and efficient. Good God. This placed was recommended by Angi, so I set up an appointment looking to just get a quote. I was pretty clear that we weren't ready to put any firm plans down, just wanted to get an estimate so that we could start budgeting. The woman who came to do our quote would not take this for an answer. First, she couldn't give us a quote because she started by saying that our yard would likely cost 20-30,000 to fence. While we do have a large yard, I can tell you now that was total baloney because we've been quoted around 10,000 by several reputable companies. At this point, I told her we couldn't afford that, so she started offering different ways we could only fence part of the yard and pay less. Okay fine, maybe just part of the yard then. She measured and this section ended up being less then a hundred feet. Suddenly, "oh gosh didn't anyone tell you we have a 100' minimum?" No they sure didn't. Now she starts talking to us and being incredibly condescending. We're a young couple, she asks if we are the only ones involved in the decision making at the house. Yes, we own the home thank you. I've said that we just wanted a ballpark and can't afford what she is describing now, likely a dozen times. She goes on to explain to us how a business is run, continuing to sugarcoat words that are translating as her talking down to us. As though we don't know what is included in the price of a product to make the business a suitable profit. Yes, we understand. She wants to go to her car and get the materials to show me, so that we can make a plan and she can give me a price. I'm just trying to get her to leave at this point. Its been an hour and I'm trying to be polite but it's clear we won't be breaking ground anytime soon. She seems to think she can talk us into dropping over 20 grand in the next couple of weeks. I tell her that we can't begin to plan for something that we cannot afford and it's best we save everyone's time. Finally, she said that she was now in a pickle because her boss would be upset if she came back having not offered us a quote, she'll be in some trouble. i'll give it to her, she drives an aggressive sale. Alright fine, Ill play your game. Give me a quote for a five foot chain link fence around 100' of the yard. She goes to her car for at least 15 minutes and is clearly on the phone, assumably with her boss trying to figure out how else to corner us because when she comes back, it's the quickest interaction yet and her demeanor has totally detached from trying to make the sale. She knew we wouldn't buy and she was now looking to leave. She gives an outrageous price and says that if we act now, they could break ground next week! Awesome, you haven't been listening! It was quite literally the most frustrating experience and I felt completely backed into a corner. My boyfriend was there with me for the first half of the conversation and literally just found a reason to go do something else when she became condescending and started rambling to make a sale. It would be one thing if we were just totally ignorant and didn't understand how pricing works, but the ballpark she gave us of up to 30 grand out of the gate was a blazing red flag that this is a scam. As anothr review mentioned, false urgency is their weapon. They say that they hand pick lumber from the lumber yard and several folks on here mention that they could tell at least some of it was scrap wood. How shameful. In summary: RUN!!!
