He apologized for the negative experience. He further advised since we were not provided a gate on one side, had removed the lattice and reduced the amount of fence being installed, despite the previous price adjustment it was still not correct and that we were due about a $1700 refund. He offered to come out and estimate putting in a custom gate, but reiterated there will likely still be somewhat of a gap issue. We decided to just go without the gate and accepted sending us a refund check. We were contacted today by Ashley McNair. She advised that a refund check was in the mail. This does not change the overall sales to installation experience, but we are satisfied with the resolution, which is the basis for changing the experience rating from 1 star to 3 stars. Recommend them but be prepared to manage the installation and communications, to ensure your expectations are met. ORIGINAL POST: We had a premium vinyl fence installed by DanDale Fencing at our home in Yorktown, Virginia (located in the new Celestial Way Community), and the experience was disappointing for a project costing us nearly $16,000. While the installation crew worked hard and the materials are solid, the planning, communication, and honesty from management were severely lacking. Our salesperson, Billy, assured us the yard's grade was no issue. On installation day, the crew told us to have a gate, a large gap would be left under the fence on the right side of our yard. When we called the office, Jeremy claimed we had been warned beforehand, which was untrue. Only after we pushed back did they offer a "custom gate" to fix the problem -- at an extra cost. Because we refused to pay more for something that should have been planned correctly, we ended up losing a gate entirely just to keep the fence flush to the ground. There was no English‑speaking supervisor or project manager on-site, making communication difficult (we had to use Google Translate). The crew did their best, but they were put in a bad position by their own management. We ended up without a gate on the right side of our property unless we pay additional for a custom gate. So, despite losing a gate and access to part of our yard due to their poor planning, DanDale offered no price adjustment for no gate nor any other appropriate solutions. In the end, we upheld our financial responsibility; they did not uphold theirs. To date, they have made no attempt to follow-up with us or take any satisfaction steps. Despite what others have gone through, I cannot recommend a company like DanDale Fence.

We went ahead and allowed them to continue as is.. No one from the company ever came to property at beginning or end of project. The company really needs to think about how they are running projects. In the end the fence look okay but I had them leave some some fence planks so I can replace some boards that are not (I feel )correct. I felt like my wife and I were the project managers.

The owner's smug and condescending attitude is not only arrogant but disrespectful. He took her money and LIED to me in person about completing the work as the building inspection permit expired. I am so furious and enraged. This company ALSO received a PPP loan that was forgiven for over 40K. My mother's yard has four massive holes that collected water through the late summer and early fall rain which almost seeped into the interior of the house. Now she has to come up with 18K for protective maintenance measures that could have been avoided. Although the company creates beautiful decks as displayed via their social media accounts, my mom did not benefit from this.

They started either 02 or 03 July, 2020. They finally finished 13 October, 2020. In the meantime, there were excuses of weather, labor shortage, and materials not arriving. The fact was, there were quite materials that were incorrectly ordered, and there was only a limited understanding of our local building codes (they're in VA, we're just south of the border in NC). Workmanship seemed OK, except, afterwards, we had an issue with the ceiling (our new deck received a roof) in that the siding on one end was bellying down and exposed the rafters. Also, the roof itself leaked during heavy rains. We didn't notice the leakage until April or May of 2021. The ceiling seemed OK until the weather warmed, then it sagged. There were also boards coming up in the deck itself because they were not properly fastened (not limber but TREX). We contacted Ryan Smith and he said they would make the repairs ASAP. I sent both photos and videos. My intial text was in May 2020. We waited and waited. I hounded Ryan Smith again, and he claimed they were short staffed. I tried again in October. Now he asked for photos to be sent, which my wife and I both had already sent him, but I sent them again, along with videos. Still, no phone call, no explanation, and no repairs. It is now January 2022. How much longer should I wait? My advice is, don't hire these people, not even to build a sandbox for your grandchild. P.S. I still have the photos and videos, available to anyone. Unfortunately, my video won't post here. You won't find Dream Decks listed with the BBB either.

A+ service and workmanship…read more I requested a quote for a disposal and faucet replacement. After getting fleeced by the first person that contacted, I reached out to John. He was very clear and thorough in the communication leading up to the day of the appointment, including making contact the day of the appointment. Upon arrival, John and his son went to work immediately and finished the work in the estimated time he had stated. We are very happy with everything. I would definitely recommend him.

Tom gave us an excellent quote, and as always (since I've used QB for another home improvement job), he was very nice and remembered our family, even from 4 years prior! John is also wonderful to communicate with. Danny and his team did a great job putting our fence up and they were quick and efficient. They always cleaned up after themselves. BY NO FAULT OF DANNY or his team, our gates 'settled' into the ground, and Danny is set to come out and give a quick repair (but that was from normal ground settling, and not from improper installation). I recommend Quality Built Exteriors. We intend to use them for other projects as well, when the time comes.

A year in we started seeing things that needed small repair; gapping, closures and caps all needed adjustment or repair. Meeting the owner did not reassure me that our issue would be resolved and they still are not. There was a lot of misdirected blame and no follow up. I will follow up and provide pictures. Customer service should be easy if you really care about your company.
