This is a cute spot to grab some coffee and hang out at. The outdoor patio is screened in and has lots of seating as well as some seating outside of the screened area. Located right by Ponce City Market. The inside is set up for one way entrance and exit with distancing stickers on the floor and all employees were masked. I got a caramel chilly goat latte with oat milk and it was delicious. The barista was very sweet and wanted to let me know there was some lactose in the other parts of the drink before I let her know I'm not lactose intolerant! Definitely would go back. read more

The coffee was fair. It wasn't bad, but we drove way out of our way to try it because you'd think a place with such a unique name would have uniquely wonderful coffee. We also ordered hot chocolate but what we got was hot milk, there was no discernible taste of chocolate. So we opened to cup, raked off the foam and sure enough, no chocolate. But we were already two blocks away, so our loss. Bathrooms were dark and needed cleaning. We bought a hat and had sticker shock when it rang up $32. This is a nice space to meet and talk or just hang out and read or websurf. The coffee is pretty good. The food items are generally not great and are over-priced. My biggest complaint is with the WiFi. The provider they're using now collects your email, then requires you to download some nebulous file just to get connected. This seems highly intrusive and insecure. I wasted too much time dealing with the WiFi setup, and I finally gave up. read more

Experience - My friends and I came on a Sunday afternoon and there are many students who were doing work here as well as folks who are just enjoying their Sunday afternoon. It was a bit difficult to find seating, but we were able to eventually find seats at the high tables by the windows. I like the atmosphere in here and the staff were friendly. This is my first time trying out this dancing goats coffee location. I went Saturday evening. The wait wasn't long to order drinks. Customer service was excellent from all of the staff. There's plenty of seating available however I'm sure this might vary if it's peek hours. I ordered a cappuccino. It was good. The menu also includes pastry to enjoy with your coffee. They have delicious chai latte too. This a great place to meet people for business. Great atmosphere for small groups. It's family friendly which is great. They sell merchandise with the dancing goat logo and they are cute. They also have coffee pressers that they sale. Parking is kind of limited close by but there's more parking within walking distance. I will definitely return soon. read more

Been living while in town in Old 4th Ward and while on foot checking out Ponce Market I came across this hip coffee house with a great outdoor covered patio. The vibe and crowd was the neighborhood. Old, young, kids, dogs and hipsters galore. Loved the mix. The coffee is terrific. You can tell the beans are high quality and locally roasted. So rich and flavorful. I could make out their beans from anyones. Unique taste. There are a wide variety of pastry and breakfast offerings as well as great friendly staff that are eager to please. My review is on the customer service this morning 3/25/21 not on the coffee. I had accidentally routed to this location not realizing that there was more than one location. When I couldn't find my friends I went to the front counter to ask the baristas for help. The two baristas blatantly ignored me. I kept saying "excuse me... excuse me..." and literally I was like I was invisible or something. I knew that something was up with those two when the other barista who was further away answered me. Clearly it wasn't because they couldn't hear me. I will not be coming to this location again. That being said the other location was amazing. Staff was great and they had a cute outdoor area. I loved the ambiance of this coffee shop and the great coffee didn't hurt either. Technically a chain I was told, but must be small because my visit to Decatur was the first I'd heard of it. Right along Ponce, you walk past a few outdoor tables and into the mellow interior. The harsh industrial lights are covered in two layers of fabric, creating a filtered soft light. There's all sorts of modern furniture and lamps around, making the space very cozy. You head about halfway back in the space and there are tables of mugs and coffee for sale as you wait in the line. I probably picked up every single mug because they were all so cute! The coffee menu is hung above the counter and there's a specials board in the middle. I ordered the special which was a cappuccino with orange blossom flavor and a lavender foam... very different and herbal, but lovely! My husband and I also ordered the chocolate croissant, which is of course always amazing. I would definitely come here a lot if I lived near one. read more

I really want to love this coffee place. It's close to my house and they have managed the Covid-safe serving really well. However, both before March 2020 and several times since, I am struck by the attitude and unfriendly nature of the staff. It's universal. Very preemptive and almost rude if you don't step properly toward ordering or heaven forbid use a stylus incorrectly. And about 50% of the time, they get my order wrong. Serving the iced coffee without the requested sweetener or something similar... After being treated as if I was a nuisance by the woman at the outdoor register before 9 AM this morning and then once again getting my order delivered incorrectly, I decided I'll be heading toward the reliable friendliness and gratitude at Waller's - in the opposite direction for my coffee needs in the future. read more

First time here today. I live out of town, but my employer is headquartered in Decatur, so I will be visiting frequently in tue future. I consider myself a coffee snob...I roast my own at home, but working as a field service tech, my choice is often lousy coffee or no coffee. All this being said,today I had a 20oz Americano, and I have to say it was one of the best tastings cups I have ever had. Dancing Goats has got one of the smoothest lattes I've ever had in my life. Batdorf and Bronson is freaking genius. The interior is HUGE - at least, compared to how small it appeared from the outside. There's plentiful parking in their private lot. The entrance has a couple of tables outdoors where some pet owners enjoy their drinks. The interior has a huge open and empty space, which is what makes it seem so spacious. The coffee bar was a little intimidating, but the barista got my latte working right away. I really do love their espresso. Who knew a skim latte could taste so good? I love that they don't skimp on the latte art, either. The downside to this location is the limited outdoor seating, which the other location has an abundance of. But, damn! This café is totally cool I tell you. The coffees and expresso's here are excellent. My wife and I have been here quite a few times and have always been impressed with the consistency, quality and the staff here. Starbucks are a dime a dozen, but this place is not. From the moment you walk through the doors you can really tell that the locals truly love this place. I've been here about 10 times. The only downside I have seen so far is that the parking lot gets packed really fast, so finding a place to park can be troublesome. One thing that certainly makes the dancing goats stand out from other coffee shops is that they make their own product through their main business Batdorf & Bronson Coffee Roasters. If you are in the mood for a good latte, shot of express, or a pound of freshly ground coffee by people who actually roasted it themselves, then stop by here. read more

The house brew was pretty tasty without the typical sugar and creamer added in. For two small house coffees, one in cold and one hot, the total was about $6. There were some baked goods in the display case, but we opted out from it as we were more sleepy than hungry. The coffee packages they were selling were over priced as the bf puts it. Starbucks retails theirs for about $8 while here it was around $12. Sure... That's my input from the bf. lol. There were other products for sale as well: coffee grinder (for the home and portal ones), coffee mugs, travel mugs, etc. The space inside was pretty spacious. There were tables outside as well. Since this was a local spot, it had a hipster vibe with lots of young adults studying. Parking was readily available as there is a lot right where Dancing Goats is at so you don't have to fight for parallel spots. read more

We had dinner plans in the area but had headed over early, so we had some time to kill before the restaurant opened for dinner. Certainly an interesting name for a coffee shop, but it's a cute spot with some local charm. I ordered the coffee item that was on special at the time, cappuccino caliente, basically a cappuccino with some kick from cayenne and other spices. It was a pretty interesting drink that tasted good, and the shop is a nice spot to hang out for a little bit. They also made the nice leaf design on top of the drink! My wife ordered a hot chocolate and really enjoyed that. I tried some, and it is definitely tasty. Overall, pretty good spot to hang out and have some local coffee. I'd go back! read more

This was a recommendation from my daughter. She, my sister (from New York City) and I popped in to have a catch up chat. It was at the end of the day on Saturday night and the shop was a little busy. Dancing Goats is an Olympia, WA-based coffee bar that shares the same owners as Batdorf & Bronson Coffee Roasters. There are only DG locations in the Evergreen State's capital and the Peach State's capital. I merely got a 12 oz. drip coffee the last time I went, and it was $2.46. There were two choices; I liked the Dancing Goats decaf. The gal taking my order was pleasant. Dancing Goats has its own parking lot, but it's often full. Good luck snagging a space on the weekends. Downtown Decatur parking seems to be getting more and more challenging by the day. It's full outside and also on the inside. Seats can be scare as well. I guess just keep your eyes peeled and pounce when you can. Seems like the kind of homey place where patrons camp out for hours. read more

What an awesome coffee shop. We were only in town for the weekend, but if we lived in Atlanta, I'd definitely frequent Dancing Goats regularly. The first thing you notice is how expansive the shop is. Wow! So many places to sit and spread out that you could really relax with a good cup of coffee and a good conversation and not feel as though other patrons were encroaching on your privacy. It's very clean and has a modernly decorated interior, too. I was already impressed the minute I walked in the door. I opted to try their specialty coffee drink which, for the life of me, I can't remember its name now, but it was set aside by itself on the menu. I asked what it was first and was shown the special machine they brew it with, kind of like a combination of an espresso machine and a french press. I decided to give it a shot. It was VERY mellow and non-bitter, just the way I like my coffee. You have to wait a little bit longer for this individually brewed drink, but it's well worth it (and not much more expensive). read more

I got the dark chocolate chip chilly goat the first time I came, and a macchiato the second time. Both were good! The chilly goat reminded me of Starbucks' frappes/blended drinks. This place was really busy, every seat taken, and line to the door on a Saturday brunch time rush. Why would I lead with that? Because even with this said this place deliver a quality product and good costumer service and I felt welcome to be a customer of theirs. Your called the dancing goat for gods sake I thought you might have goats milk no I didn't ask that I asked if they had anything other then milk. They said soy milk and almond milk extra rude. Then I asked about the scones another rude response. Then. I ordered blowing off. I heard them be extremely positive when the next lady asks the same exact question about the scones. This is my favorite coffee shop in the Atlanta area! Dancing Goats has superb espresso that is never bitter. I always get either a cortado or latte with almond milk (pictured is their cortado). Everyone in the coffee shop is always welcoming and friendly. My laptop instantly connects to their WIFI (all you do is sign in with your email) no matter how many people are in the shop. The diversity in seating is one of the major draws. If you've been sitting all day- opt for the high bar tables or the window facing counter space areas. Tired legs? They've got 2 huge work tables, 1 2 seater table, and arm chairs up front for the more relaxed vibe. Outside seating too!! read more

I get that Dancing Goats is much beloved by the Decatur community. I really do-- the coffee is delicious, the vibe is excellent, and the people are friendly. That said, it's not worth the drive, really, because...there's no where to sit. Dancing Goats has a HUGE space for a coffeeshop-- and they've filled it primarily with retail and poor seating options. For example: There are two or three chairs/couches in the front of the store. Unless you want to get really cozy with a stranger, these, at times, only host one or two people apiece. There are four high top half tables facing windows, that in theory, seat four people per-- but in reality, seat two people who don't know each other (and therefore don't really want to be knocking elbows every few moments). Plus, those half tables face, as I mentioned earlier, windows-- which means the afternoon sun comes blaring in them (there are shades, but those are no match for 4pm sunlight, plus are difficult to open and close anyhow). There's a bar overlooking the baristas; the barstools aren't high enough for the spots to be used by those with laptops (you'd be typing up by your chest). In the back, there are two larger tables that, in theory, seat 8 people. In reality, they seat four people who don't know each other. There's one high top that seats around two people, and one tiny little table that seats two people who DON'T have laptops; with a laptop, it seats one person who doesn't spread out. So, basically, while this is a lovely coffeeshop, it's nowhere that I'd come and order drink after drink and work on anything. On paper, they have loads of seating, but in reality, it's scant and crowded. I wouldn't blame them at all for this if their space didn't allow for so, so, so much more. They could fit at least six small "two-seater" tables to the store without it feeling jam-packed or overcrowded. They could fit even more if they got rid of the giant tables (that, for all the space they take up, realistically only seat around three or four people). It all seems so obvious that I suspect maybe Dancing Goats doesn't WANT to be that sort of coffeeshop-- the kind where people flock to to work and write and hang out and order all the live long day-- and I guess that's their prerogative. But that DOES mean that I only drop in every now and again, and only when I think the parking lot looks acceptably empty. read more

So, my feet were near bleeding by the time I got to Dancing Goats. No fault of the goats, of course. Just a bad judgment call on my part for wearing heels in 90 degree weather and parking all the way down the street. So yeah. I was pretty relieved to walk into the goats very calm and serene atmosphere. It's very clean and pretty in here. Not in an over the top pretty kind of way, but moreso that it's so simple, it makes for a very calming and enjoyable atmosphere. They're really into the whole community table thing and have a couple big ones in the back. There's also a big parking lot (um, why didn't I park here, again?) in the back, too. I was there for a few hours, and I saw the vibe change from daytime, laptop toting folks into the 'I'm here to chat'n'coffee it' groups of people enjoying a little afternoon break. . . but it maintained a happy, coffee kinda vibe. Though I'd just eaten my weight in red meat, I had to fit in at least one mini donut. When I went back for another bite of it, I was sad to see that I'd devoured the entire thing without noticing. It really depends on what you want, whether this will be your coffee shop. If you want to work, it's a dicey proposition. They have a couple of big tables where you can sit and wind/twirl your power cord around until it reaches an outlet. People will be talking. It's a public place, a gathering place. So if you can't tune that out, or you need to do a phone call, consider yourself warned. Their coffee is good, and they have a pretty interesting food selection, which is a tad over-priced. The strawberry turnover is tooth-grindingly sweet, so I do not recommend that, but their savory scones are yummy. Chairs in back are not comfortable. Chairs in front are, but you gotta be in the right place at the right nanosecond to score one of those. The biggest PLUS is they have their own parking -- which takes the nightmare of Decatur parking off your radar, and that can be worth a lot some days. read more

After eating at Revolution Doughnuts, my bf and I realized that Dancing Goats was in the area and we decided to go since we didn't mind having another round of coffee. This place is spacious and has plenty of seating area inside and outside, with some open area showcasing their coffee beans and other goodies. Their coffee beans are sourced from Batdorf and Bronson. I got the traditional cappuccino and my bf got the Cortado (foamed milk on top of the espresso). I enjoyed the cappuccino more than the Cortado since it was less bitter, and so did my bf, but it didn't make him like the Cortado less though. We are new to drinking Cortados and try to get it every time we find a new coffee joint. We really enjoyed the ambiance of the coffee shop, and despite the open space, it still felt warmer and cozier than Octane. They have some pastry items to sell as well.
