Keeping it 100%, as I always do! Came here as a kid and came BACK as an adult with my child... says a lot! Best all around studio! And here is a long list of why, so get your coffee, tea, boba and snacks. ~ All the teachers here, love kids of all ages and are TRAINED in their genre! I mean that is obviously one of the most important reasons as to why you would learn anything from anyone right? You want to learn swimming, tennis, piano whatever.. you want TRAINED professionals! ~ Merit - now I'm all about giving new places a chance, right? That's why I yelp, but this place has been in business for 22+ years without advertisement only by word of mouth... say what?!?! ~ Now idk if you watch the show 'Dance Moms" or something like that (its been a min), but those moms and kiddos be ... a little cray cray... I don't feel that craziness here. Kids and families here are definitely being trained well and properly, without the extra drama bs. You know why? Cause the owner (Alice) gives it to you straight, no BS included. Plus the moms here that I've met so far are really nice and the kids are really enjoying dancing. A big contributing factor is the culture that is set here in the studio. ~ I like how the instructors pick songs that are AGE APPROPRIATE, outfits and costumes that are AGE APPROPRIATE, dance moves and choreography that are AGE APPROPRIATE! The kids on the dance team here encourage each other and are happy when their teammates succeed and carry a level of class in their mannerism. They are kids right? Let them have fun but let them also be shaped and disciplined in their character to excel and to excel well. ~ They have a huge showcase every year, which is really nice... cause that means I don't have to go to an ADDITIONAL show during Christmas, End of the School Year, or whatever random holiday that appears now and days. ~ They have FATHER AND DAUGHTER DANCES!! HOW FREAKING SPECIAL IS THAT!!!! *que tears* ~ Kids like the instructors here and they aren't the I'll give you whatever you ask for kind of teachers either... need I say more? ~I've been to quite a few studios in the area and in the OC but I have always made my way back here and thought... if I have kids who want to dance, I'd bring them here. If your child is interested in dance, I 110% recommend Dancecapade! I danced there for years until I graduated high school, I was on the competition team and loved being in the recital! Recently, I returned to bring dance back into my life and had one of their extraordinary teachers, Alessa, choreograph the first dance for my wedding! It was so great being back in my old dance classrooms. The owner, Alice, and her staff create and empowering and kind dance environment unlike many studios of similar caliber in the area. The classes and practices are taken seriously, dancers from Dancecapade are technically trained and given a top-notch foundation. And everyone is just so kind to one another. Everyone is treated fairly. And the dancer's work has paid off! If you follow them on social media, you can see how well they do in competitions and at performances. By Far the Worst Dance Director Ever. Where is the Zerooo. Not only they were not Professional also they do not Value their Veteran Dancers. 2 of my Kids has been with them for over 8 years and young one has also been with them for over 3 years. This studio is all about politics If you don't have the time to play their game Don't Bother. The dance teacher were nice but studio director always discriminate against my kids. She always try to persuade my kids to take more classes even after they are already taking 4 dance. Their refusal to work with you schedule were by far the most ridiculous I have ever heard. She even try to tell us that why can't we just drive the kids whenever it is their dance time. And pick them up 3 times a day. We are working parents if we don't work how are we going to pay for all these years of dancing. Guess What they just lost a veteran dancer family and I just withdrew all three of my kids today! read more

I am a local Walnut resident. Yesterday evening, I was looking into studios that offer Pilates closer to where my child goes to school, to possibly enjoy workouts during school hours instead of going home for 1.5hrs. I did a general Google search, "Walnut Pilates Studio near me." A flyer for DanceCapades presented itself, as shown below. The screenshot, dated Yesterday 9/14 5:33pm. Stating all their correct contact information and prices including a package price. They were closed, and waited to contact them this morning, to ask what times they had available. I called this morning just before 9am. Spoke with Alice, and communicated my schedule and then through texts, confirmed a date and time. I filled out their waiver, and setup an account. Following all of this, she then stated the price at $65/session. I replied with the ADVERTISEMENT and agreed to pay for the price stated. (Mind you, beyond the 4x special offer sessions, the price is stated at $60. I also agreed to pay 1 month in full if the availability for 3x weekly sessions were available, just to secure those spots.) This is a difference of $5. Alice proceeded to accuse me of altering her own flyer to include prices. Stating she had no idea where I FOUND this flyer, and to include pricing that is incorrect. She is not aware that False Advertising is Fraud, Illegal and overall Terrible Business practices. Especially to refuse accountability and then blame the Advertising on her customers. I stated that I will be reporting this to the City of Walnut. I'm heading to City Hall now. Terrible. read more

Lovely dance studio. My daughter has been attending for a year now. She started as a 3 year old and the teachers are very skilled and patient with all the dancers. The rates are $65 monthly for 4 classes per month. At the end of the year they have a recital with a lovely production. I highly recommend. read more

I have been to many studios and Dancecapade stands out! I appreciate the genuine interest the teachers and the director, Alice, have for all students and their willingness to meet each student at their level. I started dance late and other studios didn't provide me with feedback to improve; I could go through class without any interactions with the teacher. That was completely different with Alice... she knew every student in the class! I thank her and the studio for the dance journey I had - high school competition team, college team, and Disneyland. Now as an educator and having kids of my own, I value Dancecapade's age appropriate classes - the music, dance moves, and outfits for recital and competition. The dance world is competitive! They also offer private Pilates class. Ms Kathy is the most amazing Pilates instructor I ever met. She is a professional dancer herself and she knows basic anatomy. Great dance studio! We tried several local studios for my daughter and most were crowded, run down, and the instructors seemed young and inexperienced. Dancecapade is clean, well maintained, and most importantly the instructors are knowledgeable and supportive. My daughter loves her teachers and her classes. She always has a great time. The owner/director really cares about all of the families even if you aren't planning on dancing competitively. Highly recommend! read more

Dance teachers are good kids really enjoy them but my complaint is the accounting process. Was told I didn't pay but she didn't catch it but charged me the following month without saying anything and than when the 2nd month came "noticed" the 2 previous months were missing. There's no auto debit available, emailed receipts are dependent upon whether they remember to email you. They give you "paper" receipts and honestly sometimes I don't believe it's given out due to the collection of payment that's only done by just 1 individual. Oh and she advised she normally charge me a late fee but "whispered" she'll let it go as if?! This day in age I'm sorry no one keeps paper receipts it's all electronic debit/email receipts. Get with the technology. My review is primarily the accounting. The dance classes are fine, kids love it. read more

This is a family run business. Ms Alice makes it such a pleasant experience. My daughter has danced elsewhere but there is no place like Dancecapade. From the direction Ms. Alice provides to the outstanding teachers. Ms. Alessa is a great teacher. She can be tough but that's what makes for great dancers. Their teams have gone National all by Ms. Alessa direction and effort she gives to her dancers. The kids love her! Ms. Haley, Ms. Valerie and Ms. Kathy are all great in their own craft. My daughter enjoys being in each class. Each are tailored for each child and their level. Recital is always a fun experience for the dancers and parents. Ms. Alice makes it reasonable and affordable. Everyone at Dancecapade is such a pleasure to work with! I must say that we truly appreciate the time and effort that each teacher gives my dancer. Our daughter attended a complimentary first class. It was a dance cheer class in which she said she was bullied and laughed at by several girls in the class. We called and told management about the incident and before even finishing what she experienced the manager/owner didn't seem to want to hear it and even went so far as to deny that it even happened. She also said that we should have should have complained the same day. However I wanted to get more details from my daughter and discuss our course of action with my wife. My daughter is 8 years old and is very well liked in school. I ask did she knew any of the girls in class and she said no. I think this type of behavior should not be condoned nor tolerated. No wonder there are so many school incidents if children are allowed to run the class and not the teacher. I doubt she could learn in a hostile environment with the teacher and the management/owner looking the other way. We won't be back and i suggest you look carefully into this particular class. It is dance cheer on Thursday evening. This our first and last experience at this school. read more

Coming from a cheer/dance background I was very selective on the studio I was going to place my daughter. I chose this studio because the director and the instructors do an amazing job in teaching the fundamentals. The focus on technique, lines and procession made the decision an easy one. Also the studio is very clean and organized. The director takes pride in her studio and is very approachable as well. The recital is very professional and costumes are age appropriate.
