Don't waste ur time here! Waste of money! Left a review of my experience with these individuals and they deleted it! Which let me think there were way more bad reviews than what's posted! They are: Unprofessional Racist Unorganized Pathetical liars Dishonest and so much more! Doesn't really care about the needs of students or their growth and development! Had the Owner pretended to be 3 different persons on the phone!! Had my children kicked out because they said " they were the right for for the a school" After I left an honest review of what we experienced after one week of service , the owner called me pretending to be someone else trying to change her voice! For several years, my daughter has attended this dance studio, where she has excelled in various dance styles and sharpened her skills. The teachers along with the owner are exceptional and very attentive. They hosted my daughter's eighth birthday party, and the kids loved the entertainment. The adult classes here are great! both teachers offer a different style and both have their pros. Regardless of the day I go I know I am getting a good workout and feel so pretty doing it! Dance was always a big part of my life and the teachers here helped me gain my confidence again to just do it without judgement. I cannot recommend the Tap class with Ms.Kristen enough! DO NOT ENROLL! Dance Pointe (Miller Place) is nothing short of a disgrace! Although the instructors themselves are sweet, the owner, Jennifer, is very rude and only cares about money. Jennifer preaches the amount of nurture that separates Dance Pointe from other studios, yet she herself is far from nurturing! The nurturing that she speaks of does not even reflect on the classes, but instead, is seemingly a selling point. Before recital, I was assured (3 weeks prior) that Jennifer had possession of my son's costume. The week before recital, day of dress rehearsal, I remind Jen to bring my sons costume, to which Jen claimed she "couldn't find it, like it disappeared". She then claimed to put in a rush order that ended up being sent to an incorrect address (proper management would check shipping address before placing an urgent order I would think!). After ordering a third time, my son's costume arrived the day of recital, with only a few hours to spare! (What if it was late? What if it didn't fit? The anxiety this instilled on me was uncalled for!) My son's acrobatic/gymnastics class was taught by a sweet middle age gentleman, who could not actually do gymnastics. At our new studio, the gymnastics/acrobatic teacher ACTUALLY DOES ACROBATICS, and can lead and teach by example. My son's hip hop teacher was a young sweet girl, who taught hip hop while wearing her tap or ballet shoes. The choreography taught to my six year old, was something a group of two year olds could have learned! I have NO dance experience, and I am confident that I MYSELF could have taught a more age appropriate routine! Dance Pointe claims you can withdraw from the yearly contract at any time, but the fine print is that you do not get ANY PART of your down payment back! After all of the issues and disappointment at Dance Pointe, the owner did not even care to address my complaints/concerns, but instead chose to ignore them. My child was with Dance Pointe for approximately 4 months, and I spent close to $1500.00, for him to preform in one, 3 minute show during the HOURS of recital. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED! DO YOUR "HOMEWORK" FIRST! DO NOT CHOOSE DANCE POINT! You can get a better experience for less money at many other studios! read more

I agree with all the bad reviews written here. I witnessed myself when I was taking my daughter out when relocating to another State and could not make recital. I asked for a refund she declined which was understandable. So that last months tuition I asked Jennifer since she could not refund the 3 recital tix I pre paid for I asked for her not to charge my daughter that last months tuition. She never got back to me nor answered the question when I seen her in person. So since she did not answer the question I did not have my daughter attend that last months class nor the recital since we had to move & start new jobs. She still charged my card for that months tuition. I did a charge back which was ruled in my favor and Jenn got very nasty in the dispute rebuttal. She stated that I displayed financial hardship yet I took my wife out for an expensive steak dinner Months prior. Yes I took my wife out for Valentine's Day yet I shared that experience with you while at practice because I thought we had a good professional relationship & thought i could share this. Then she throws this out which had nothing to do as to why I disputed the charge. Had she actually answered my question and not avoided me and been a professional adult and Owner of Dance Pointe I would have not had to do the charge back. I say seek dance classes elsewhere. Not bashing but im stating honest experiences with The owner Jenn. Attached are emails (pardon typos ) of her not answering the question I asked and then personally she avoided me as if I wasn't a customer for close to 2 years. Our last class May 2016 she walked right by me and my daughter Kayleigh and didn't even say bye to Kayleigh. My wife and I were outraged at the fact she was unprofessional to not just us as the parents but more importantly our daughter who she taught and bonded with every Saturday and every recital she participated in. Since she gave me and my family such unprofessionalism it is very hard for me to recommend this studio. There are levels to customer service even if the answer is no from the business to the customer you continue to be friendly and kill the customer with kindness. Please keep looking for a different option for your children!!! This place is terrible! The owner Jennifer is very rude and unprofessional. Very condescending as well. She is very cold and not friendly at all. She runs her business poorly. She only cares about tuition and pays very little attention to important things, like the children who are the reason she has a business in the first place. She had a wonderful teacher for Drama, Miss W, and she knew full well that Miss W was leaving to move out of state after classes ended for the summer. She was intentionally keeping that information form parents to assure she had people register for classes in the Fall. She completely snubbed her at the final recital. She didn't thank her for her very hard work and dedication and didn't even let her take her own bow. Miss. W was the only reason we stayed at this school. When we knew she was leaving we knew we weren't going to return. Jennifer knew that there were many families that were there b.c of Miss W and didn't want to lose the money. I made a facebook post on the Dance Pointe page expressing my disappointment and it was immediately taken down. Months later, Jennifer called me to ask about the post. I asked her why it was deleted and she said it just disappeared. That's funny! Just like Magic! She lied so many times while we were talking on the phone. Point is...She is a liar. She only cares about $$. She doesn't care about the students or families. The Greace Jr. Show was a great performance, but the rest of the recital was hard to watch. The kids are adorable, but when young girls who should only be student teaching alongside actual teachers, ARE the ONLY teachers, the dances are not great. It is like watching the same dance again and again in a different costume. Reading the other reviews on Yelp, It seems like I'm not the only person who feels this way about Jennifer. I wasn't going to write a review but after our phone call I decided I didn't want other parents to waste their time or money. There are so many dance places, and so many performing arts theaters in Suffolk County. Please send your children where they will learn from professionals and are treated more like family than a dollar sign. . read more

I would not recommend this dance studio to my worse enemy. The owner Jenn is all about the money acts nice when u start and when u tell her your leaving or not going to renew your tuition she turns into a different person. All the recitals were horrible they use cheap themes decorations and costumes. I regret ever giving them me and my family's business. read more

Not only is she a gifted dancer and instructor but also a smart, professional, and kind business owner. My daughter Kailey has only been dancing for a short period of time and her experience at this studio has been amazing. She loves the instructors, especially Mr. Jimmy who has made her feel welcomed into the group. She never wants to miss a class! The students and staff are welcoming and friendly. Kailey has learned so much in the few short months that she's been here. She's excited to continue with her dancing experience. jennifer is very rude. i was a student there for a few years, when i told jen i wasn't returning do to mental health related problems . she called me a few days before the recital making me come in after i hadn't shown up for months because i wasn't mentally stable, she then made me come in perform in front of many people knowing i wasn't happy. i wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. id rather stay anonymous but i do not recommend this place to anyone read more

Obnoxious and immature owner Jennifer that threatens to sue and pouts like a child when she doesnt hear what she likes. The school is not run well and it's a shlocky operation at best. Writes nasty emails because she doesn't have class enough to confront someone in person. Greedy and phony. Dance instruction is Sub par. Surprised this place can stay open. In signing my child up to dance this year she was put into a class with Miss Cara. This is her second year here, first year with this teacher. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. The class is mostly taught by her assistant, who everyone says is her sister. Otherwise the kids are out of control. My daughter feels she has not learned much and will not be returning next year for this reason. Using a different name to prevent the teacher from taking it out on my child. Only giving the studio 2 stars because Jennifer, the owner, herself is a great women as is the front desk staff Wendy and her previous teacher, not sure of her name. read more

i have been going to this dance school since i was 4 years old, and i wouldn't switch for anything. i love all the teachers here, they are some of the nicest people i've ever met. i definitely recommend this dance school to anyone and everyone. dance pointe performing arts center is my home away from home. i love mrs. jenn and ms. kris, along with mr. jimmy. they are patient and kind and don't mind having a little fun, but when we need to get things done, they will pull us together. dance class is where i have made most of my friends and we are so close. again i recommend this dance studio to anyone who is looking to have a great time and loves to perform! read more
