UPDATE: The company responded 3 years later to justify their terrible treatment. But just to…read moreclarify a few points: 1. My only reason for the cancellation was not just because "Life happens". It was a medical issue that arose. My pregnancy was very high risk and was causing MEDICAL issues. Not just, life happens - which I find to be a huge difference. When you hear life happens, it's like I didn't budget my money or we're moving. But the money I needed back was to pay for medical bills. Had I decided to have that party, I could have gotten incredibly sick and/or harmed my child. 2. I cancelled with 4 months notice - less than 60 days after booking and placing the deposit. This was more than ample time for the company to fill that date with another party. This cancellation gave plenty of time and was shortly after the deposit was place because it was only after I placed the deposit that I even found out I was pregnant much less that it was a dangerous pregnancy. 3. My original conversation with one of the workers led me to believe that they were going to work with me BECAUSE it was medical, and then once it was refused AFTER I was lead to believe - I put in the dispute because that's what I was advised to do by the credit card company. Then after I put through the dispute, I was offered your solution of a different date, which I did attempt to use but then your company ignored me for a long time, then when you finally responded it was to tell me that you didn't do it because of the chargeback. You only offered the solution AFTER the chargeback then rescinded BECAUSE of the chargeback. After 3 years, I do not expect you are able to fix this mess you caused - but I thought you should know that this was not just a "life happens" or a last minute cancellation. I found it completely heartless that you would punish someone for being sick despite the massive notice you were given.

I came to learn quickly that Unfortunately this center is more concerned with ticket sales etc than the children's happiness and safety. It is definitely not family-friendly and it is not clean. I recently witnessed a mom being kicked out of the recital rehearsal because she had to bring her one-year-old son. Her daughter came onstage and left crying not knowing where her mom was. Luckily another mom (not staff member) knew her and brought her to her mother. They all left in tears and noticed a woman named Beth who seem to be running the event started gossiping and speaking about the poor mom and daughter in a negative way. I was completely shocked at how this was handled. For this reason my daughter will never attend the school again and if you're smart you will not have your children in the center either. This is supposed to be a fun activity. What a nightmare. And all this because she brought her baby with her. I would think they would understand a little more because some of the staff had their children running all around INSIDE the rehearsal.

Being that the studio was 20 minutes from my house I was hesitant to make the commitment. We decided to try it out for the year and see how it went... Now, 9 years later, I have to say it was the BEST decision I've ever made for my daughter. My daughter has learned so much more than just how to dance. She has learned about hard work, commitment, setting goals and doing what it takes to reach them. Everyone usually puts their weights back exactly where they belong. The equipment is well maintained because I run into few broken machines. The locker rooms are often spotless, too, and they have self-programmable lockers near the turf area in case people forget their locks, which is good because I forget my lock sometimes. The showers consistently have hot water, and the sauna is a comfortable temperature. The front desk and office staff are consistently friendly and helpful. The only negative is that sometimes music laced with profanity plays, and I prefer artists who do not curse.
