Rachel was a perfect instructor asking about what we wanted to learn and giving us basic steps in several styles of dance. We especially loved when we took lesson with a male and female instructor so that we could pick things up twice as fast. Unfortunately, my husband passed away, but I decided to do the lessons anyway. Rachel was amazing! She was very calm and informative. As a first timer- I highly recommend checking them out!

I cannot recommend this establishment based on my experience, especially considering the high…read moreprices. During my visit, I was verbally confronted and accused of something I did not do. What was particularly concerning was how the situation was handled by the front office. The staff member appeared to identify me as the aggressor despite what I personally witnessed, and I felt that I was treated unfairly and unprofessionally throughout the situation. Unfortunately, the experience became even more concerning when my daughter was physically hurt twice within the same hour. I personally witnessed what happened, and I did not believe either incident was accidental. Despite this, the front office dismissed the incidents as "an accident," which was extremely upsetting as a parent. I also felt that I was treated differently because of my ethnicity. I cannot speak for the intentions of the staff, but the way I was treated left me feeling discriminated against and unwelcome. Overall, I was extremely disappointed with how both situations were handled. Given the prices and the way my daughter and I were treated, I would not personally return or recommend this establishment. I encourage others to carefully consider their experience and expectations before spending their hard-earned money here.

We just started our second year with Ascend and I cannot say enough great things about this dance…read morestudio! My oldest daughter had a few years of previous experience at a different studio in Phoenix. However, Ascend was her first experience spending quality time and attention on form and technique - something I thought we were getting at our previous studio. The caliber of training at Ascend made me realize what we lacked elsewhere, and it truly show when you watch their yearly Nutcracker performances, recitals and competition team showcases. Both of my daughters thrive here and absolutely love their sweet teachers and friends. It's hard to play favorites when it comes to the teachers - they all teach with both kindness and excellence and are warm and welcoming to parents and students. Another thing I love - the communication is top notch between staff and families. Emails contain everything you need to know for your dancer in a timely manner, responses are quick and helpful, and they are never bothered by questions and concerns. I'm always aware of what's happening at the studio and what I need to add to my calendar! Such a special place for excellent training and amazing students, families and staff. We love you, Ascend!

I was told there are no refunds or partial credits, even with immediate notice. I understand the need for policies, but this felt very rigid and disappointing -- especially for families with young kids who can change their minds quickly. The teachers are passionate, motivated, and very knowledgeable. Kat herself is the most caring and charismatic person I have ever met! She is overflowing with talent and knowledge about music and art. In addition she offers kindness and support to ALL her students. The music facilities are super clean and child friendly! There are always happy kids coming in and out of lessons. Plus there are so many different types of classes offered, I wish Kats Artist Tree was around when I was a kid! The best part is the different classes share their work. Through performances and presentations that highlight what was learned and improved upon, from children to adults. Voice lessons are always fun because you have the opportunity to sing in front of an audience.

I thought they might…read moreteach him some skills or different drawing techniques but it really was just him sitting in a classroom drawing next to other children. This may be helpful if your child doesn't have time to draw but for any blossoming artist who spends hours of their own time sitting and drawing there isn't any value to this time at Kat's verses being at home. I'm not sure the "teacher" has any sort of special training; actually i don't think I ever even saw the teacher or had any feedback from him/her(?) in the 4 months we attended. During this time I saw no change in skill or ability from this class. He didn't particularly enjoy it either. It seemed that the front desk assistant frequently taught the class which started late and ended early regularly. My son benefited from the Young Rembrandt's program at his school more than this program and YR, for the most part, just taught him how to shade. So the bar wasn't set extremely high. This school also requires a registration fee ($60) to even try any of the classes and also requires a credit card on file which they cannot update except in person. There isn't any online account management.. They don't allow for over the phone changes and their withdrawal policy is also very strict so we ended up paying for a month we didn't want. They also sent my credit card information entire number, expiration date, ccv code, address and full name (!) in clear text VIA EMAIL unencrypted which is very very horrendous security policy for a company who requires this information be provided. They are not obviously not PCI compliant so I'd be wary of providing them this information. They aren't particularly nice or friendly either. We won't be back.
