This location has very spread out layout and a great outdoor area that is shaded for most of the day. I've been doing training sessions with Ryan Hamilton and he's been exemplary. Ryan always has fresh workouts for every session, never a repeated or dull routine. Along with fun conversation, Ryan is always sharing his knowledge on everything fitness and health in general. A heads-up for anyone considering the new EOS Fitness on Cactus Rd in Surprise…read more This location took about five months to open after the "coming soon" signs went up. I waited patiently rather than joining elsewhere. It finally opened May 15 -- and the way it's being run since has been disappointing. My biggest concern is sanitation. I use the cold plunge and sauna twice a day. The cold plunge water level has been low, and the hot tub has what looks like black mold built up along the sides. I told a staff member walking the area. The next day I took photos and showed them at the front desk -- I was told the hot tub was "waiting on a part" and that a supervisor would be called to inspect and clean it. Two days later, nothing has been cleaned or fixed. On top of that, they sold a $10/month towel service and then ran out of towels, telling members it would be restocked "next week." I've tried to be patient and raise these things politely in person. Posting the photos here so the community is aware and so the company actually sees what's happening at this location. I'd genuinely like to see it fixed -- mold in a wet area used by members every day is not something that should sit for days. @EOS Fitness -- please address the hot tub and cold plunge at the Surprise / Cactus Rd location.

Customer service like that really sticks with you and honestly makes me want to come back. I took the hot HIIT class with Sidney and it delivered. Ambient lighting to start, then lights dimmed, music up, and suddenly it was go time. Great playlist, clear mic cues, and a seriously effective workout -- weights, core, warm-up, cool-down, the whole deal. Packed class but Sidney stayed very attentive, offering modifications, keeping everyone engaged, and bringing strong, motivating energy throughout. Only small note: shavasana felt a bit quick, but overall fantastic class. The studio itself is beautiful and thoughtfully designed -- two large studio rooms, appreciate the mirrors to watch form, plenty of lockers and cubbies, multiple showers/restrooms, vanity areas, rental mats/towels (huge when traveling), tons of heated class options like yoga, yin, Pilates, barre, and HIIT, plus a separate red light therapy room that felt amazing afterward. I've actually never seen a studio that had mat drying racks out for everyone , nice touch . Friendly members, great retail selection (yes, I shopped), and booking through ClassPass made everything easy. Definitely a studio I'd return to.

I had attempted to lose the 25-30lbs id put on for ~2-2.5 years with zero traction. I would start enthusiastically, and when I didn't see ANY results, I'd either give up completely or take my foot off the gas considerably. Then wash. rinse. repeat. I was completely hopeless and frustrated with my self and my life. Enter underground fitness. I left my initial consultation with Dave feeling almost giddy (and. don't use that phrase lightly). Everything he said just clicked - for the 1st time in a long time, it felt not only possible but likely that I would be able lose the weight. And 9+ weeks in that feeling hasn't gone away. Thanks to Dave and my Trainer Tripp (honestly one of the most knowledgeable trainers i've ever met), and despite my newly discovered hypothyroidism, I've lost 3 inches off my waist, I have the confidence to take pictures with my family/niece and even been able to bring a few items of clothing out of retirement! And all this was possible without being forced to eat salads or protein shakes all day. Dave taught me how to be accountable for myself and my food. If I want dessert, and make sure I have it budgeted into my daily calories and I eat that dessert. He genuinely cares about his clients and his only goal is for your to reach your goals, and in the process teach you how to eat for the rest of your life. Honestly, could have easily gotten double the money out of me for the following 9 weeks program but because I was doing well with my nutrition, he moved me to a less hands-on 9-week program. I'm sharing this for safety reasons…read more During a squat session a few months back, I told my trainer that my back was hurting during the squats. Despite this, I was instructed to complete another set. During that final set, I injured my back badly enough that I could not walk afterward. At no point was the exercise stopped, reduced, or modified when I reported pain. I still can't squat, my back isn't fully recovered. Afterward, communication was disappointing. When my husband and I later explained that we needed to pause training due to finances, we received no response. Regardless of certification or experience level, a trainer should prioritize client safety, listen when pain is reported, and communicate professionally. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. Update: After posting this review, the trainer contacted me and offered me money to take my review down. Since he can't contact me he reached out to my husband regarding my review. I am adding this update for transparency.
