Then my husband bought me a gift certificate for a couple of introductory lessons at Arrowhead Arthur Murray, and together we began our journey into the wonderful world of dance. I am naturally a very quiet and introverted person, but the relaxed and welcoming environment at Arrowhead Arthur Murray put me at ease right away. The instructors and students are friendly and excited to see new faces. Over the last year and a half, the people at Arrowhead have become our extended family, and the studio, our second home. We cannot imagine what life would be like without them! The staff at Arrowhead are some of the kindest and most encouraging people I have ever met. The instructors are well-trained and are constantly working to grow both as dancers and as teachers. They are patient and eager to answer questions and help students overcome their challenges. They encourage their students to dream beyond what they ever thought possible, and they offer support, guidance, and encouragement along the way. Arrowhead offers numerous group classes throughout the week, teaching a variety of dances for both beginning and experienced students. There are also two practice parties during the week to give students the opportunity to dance with instructors and other students in a relaxed social setting. The group classes and practice parties are open to any students who are taking private lessons, and they are some of the best learning opportunities! Don't miss them! I expected that learning to dance would challenge me physically and mentally, and it certainly has done both. But I never expected that dance would touch me emotionally and relationally the way that it has! I can honestly say that dance has been life-transforming, and I am still a work in progress. Arrowhead Arthur Murray is more than just a place of business. It is a place that I call home. I have been dancing at Arrowhead since January 2014. In the almost 7 years that Lowell Fox has been my instructor, I have grown as a dancer and as a human being. His passion for instruction is exemplary. As an educator myself, I look to him for new ways of teaching. He inspires me both on and off the dance floor. When I first came to Arrowhead, I enrolled in lessons as a fun adventure, as an outing, as a way to be more social. As a faculty member at a veterinary college, building new curriculum, I always have my head in the books. Dancing at Arrowhead brought me out of my shell. It helped me to interact, it helped me to loosen up a bit and learn that it's okay to do something other than science :) I arrived at Arrowhead with two left feet, convinced that I could never get far! Lowell changed all that. He made me believe in me because he did. That is the beauty of someone who was born to teach. Somewhere along the way, the awkward phases smoothed out and over time I've seen myself in a different light. Don't get me wrong - there is still awkward :) ... But I've seen changes in myself that make it all worthwhile. When I look in the mirror, my work no longer is the sole item that defines me. And while I am prouder than proud to be a veterinarian, I am blown away that Lowell found a dancer inside of me. Dancing is a gift. It is like tasting freedom. It is like flying. It is freeing. It makes me a better, kinder, wiser, gentler, more relaxed me. I wouldn't be where I am today without Arrowhead --- they are family, they are amazing, and they make epic happen! Arrowhead Arthur Murray has been such a blessing for my family. We started dancing here in August 2012, and have absolutely fallen in love with not only dance, but this studio in particular. We've been to other studios in the valley for parties and group classes, but none work as hard at building community as Arrowhead. All of the staff are great dancers, but more importantly just great people. They are, from what we've seen by visiting other studios(both Arthur Murray and others), the most dedicated and well trained instructors. We've even visited other studios in CA, TX, and CO, but this studio is unique in its philosophy of atmosphere, which we believe is a direct reflection of the philosophy of the franchisees Mychael and Candee. They work hard to create an atmosphere that is welcoming of all dancers at all levels. We've never felt pressure to buy lessons(stories I've heard from others that visit other dance studios), and have always felt welcome(even encouraged) to make the studio our own. I brought a 2-years expired dance certificate (that my wife received from a friend 3 years ago) into to the studio when Julisa was closing up shop and you honored it as my gift to my wife on my birthday. That was a year ago. Since then, we have been working hard and having a blast with our ever-growing skills on the floor, costume contests, dance parties, routine performances and preparations for competitions. Your staff is wonderful and genuine in advising us in how we can best utilize and grow the skills we have learned over the past year. Samantha and Rowland have been great coaches getting us through our first-time jitters and to appreciate our memory-making competition medals at competition. Love, love, love our lessons and our instructors! Everyone associated with the studio is fantastic. They make you feel like part of the family. It is a fun and comfortable environment whether you are coming to learn your very first dance steps or to grow as a competitive dancer. My husband and I started coming to AAM 5 years ago with our daughter and son-in-law to prepare for their wedding. We were hooked. All the instructors at AAM are all top notch and we would (and do) recommend them to anyone and everyone! Nick, Laura, Mike & Candy along with the rest of the crew always make you feel like you can dance to the moon & back!!! Last spring, I approached Arthur Murray looking for a few lessons in preparation for an upcoming wedding. What I discovered was what a fun experience it is to take dance lessons! This studio was super welcoming and the staff were fantastic! I would still be going but i found out I have stage 4 Melanoma and was given a 16% chance to live past 5 years.
