It reminded me of a mix of group fitness with a yoga/pilates feel and as someone who works out daily, I would rank it high challenge. Lots of use of props and weights. Definitely bring your own mat, towel, and water bottle. You will wear shoes during most classes, so you may want to pack a gym pair if you don't want to get your mat dirty-- they do also have a UV light sanitizer in the studio you can use on your mat after class. You're assigned a number spot on the floor, studio appears to hold 40-50 people. I'm not sure of their pricing, I attended using ClassPass. Housekeeping: there are two individual bathrooms and two red light infrared saunas on site too! Easy to find parking, studio is on the second level, easy to reach by middle or east set of stairs. I had been walking regularly and working on weight loss when I stepped tentatively into my first Zumba class. Truthfully, it kicked my tush but the instructor was so upbeat and so kind - and there were truly ALL shapes and sizes! I wasnt self conscious at all. I came back the next week and a different instructor and she was a bit more of a teacher of the steps than the first and realized that it would take me awhile to learn the routines but I would get it. For the first time in my life I was doing cardio three times a week and enjoying it. Encouraging, non-judgemental, fun, and worth the $7 per class (or $6 if you buy a pass).

I went in for a drop-in beginner's class and ended up with a couple of girls who were also there for new year, new you and my husband. We were apprehensive about what it would be like and a little scared but excited. Our instructor, Kelsey, started us off with some stretching exercises. Then we moved to the silks where we attempted to climb them and then maneuver a hold. After that we tried our hands at different moves on the trapeze. Let me tell you, it was just as hard as I thought it would be! She recommended letting your hands sit in ice water for 10 minutes as it would help with the swelling (yikes!). If you decide to try it out just remember that you will use muscles you don't normally use, your hands will hurt and feel raw, you will be super sore, and you will feel great about yourself! You tried something new, fun and challenging. And anybody can give it a try, from little kids up to whatever age! They offer sessions, drop-ins, and 8 class flex pass. She even mentioned they have had bachelorette parties come in! How much fun would that be!?
