My go to work out place. It's so nice to walk in and know everything is taken care of - planning, demonstrations, & equipment set up.

Here are some highlights of the gym: *Location: The gym is located above Cosentino's Market and offers up to two hours of free parking in the garage, with access from Main Street and Walnut. *Personal Trainers: The personal trainers are top-notch. I have trained with James, AJ, and Conner. *Group Classes: The group classes are free for members. My favorite is Natalie's Bootcamp, held Monday through Friday at 12:15 PM. (Please check the website for current times, as they can vary). *Facility: The gym is spacious with eight distinct areas, locker rooms, and pool access for members. Despite these positives, my review is not 5 stars due to the following issues: *Movie - Cardio Room: This room has experienced constant hiccups since Genesis took over, and currently, nothing is showing. *Plumbing/Water Issues: Currently, half the sinks in the men's bathroom are out of service. Last month, there was a small flood from the pool during bootcamp, and earlier this year, leaks from the washer flooded the men's locker room for over a week. *Turf: The gym's turf is original from One Life. It was stretched and glued earlier this year but has needed to be replaced for over a year. *Equipment Maintenance: One of the two skill mills has been out of order for six months, and several cardio machines have had "out of order" signs for several weeks. *Cleanliness: I do not believe the gym is deep cleaned very often, as there are dust bunnies and hairballs around most of the equipment.

Troy is the kindest and sharpest superstar Manager who welcomed me, an out of towner( not a local and potential member) with class and enthusiasm; please note that I was a guest from NY visiting KC for the MNF game. Mac, Chandler and Brenna were just stellar with kindness. Loved the efficiency at the front desk and their smiles as they picked up towels in the cart from all over the gym. 2) Towel service( bath and workout sizes). 3) This gym is huge. The workout floor has all areas - free weights, cardio, abs, machines and the class room very well spaced. 4) The equipment is modern. 5) The locker room is immaculate. The supplies( soap, shampoo, shaving cream, lotion and paper towels( are well stocked. 6) 2 hours validated parking on the 4th floor in the adjacent garage with a 55 feet convenient walk to the gym entrance. 7) Open weekdays at 5 am. Perfect! 8) Beautiful, relaxed vibe in the health club with no wait or rushing for the machines or weights. I left each time with a bigger smile.

I went to a crossfit session for the first few times and they were basically the same thing. I am a girl and don't want to look like a boy. I really think most of the workouts are for men. After a couple of weeks, I started to get that giant bulging neck look, not cool! I went to a bootcamp session to check it out and I HATED it. Way too much running. I don't need to pay a ton of money to run. I can do that for free. There were not enough modifications for beginners and I hurt myself. I couldn't do anything else after that and I have not returned since. If you are not a dude and haven't been working out like crazy for a few months before you go, a pull up, ain't gonna happen! I also had a problem with it being way too crowded. It was impossible to do a lot of stuff due to spacing problems and the fact that lots of the people there were jerks and just walk right in front of you. I didn't want to hit people when I was jumping rope, so I would stop when they walked in front of me. Another issue I had was not being able to hear the instructors. This left me asking others what was going on and , and they often said they didn't hear either. Luckily I used a groupon and didn't sign up for a membership, which is over $100 a month I hear! The music is just awful. I should never be subjected to the band "Disturbed" ever again. Heard enough of that awful music from boyfriends with bad taste in music back in high school.

The classes are too crowded - easily 20+ people each time - and badly taught by meatheads. The music is deafing and you can hear what ittle instruction there is. The emphasis is on speed and despite their claims to the contrary, there is no attention paid to form. Unless you are already in top shape this in not the place for you. This is not the place to get in shape, but instead a place for hot dogs to show off for each other. Too many people, 'one size fits all' approach, and at best you'll be embarrassed and at worst, injured. I have been working out 5 days a week for 25 years and this was one of the worst fitness experiences I've ever had.

I was a member until I unfortunately broke my leg Dec. 2024, at which point I called to cancel my membership a few months after. The staff confirmed my cancellation, and I was not charged up until recently. However, out of nowhere this year I was charged over $200. When I called to address the issue, I was told my account had never actually been canceled, despite the prior confirmation and months without any charges. The representative I spoke with displayed a concerning lack of professionalism and empathy. His only solution was to "waive the $15 fee on the account and call it good," which is completely insufficient given the circumstances. I will be disputing these charges with my bank, and I would caution anyone considering joining this gym. The lack of accountability, disorganized billing practices, and dismissive customer service make this a place I cannot, and will not, recommend to anyone.

Too busy to go to the gym? Not sure what to do when you get there? Need a little accountability?…read moreWant to have fun while you get healthier and relieve stress? 9Round is the gym for you. Personally, no other gym has worked for me the way 9Round has. It's something I can find the time for, truly enjoy, and KNOW it works. Even just 3 times per week leaves me feeling so much stronger, healthier, and happier. There's nothing that relieves stress quite like kicking and punching the bags. 9Round is a 30 minute full-body, kickboxing-themed circuit workout. There are a total of 9 stations or "rounds." Each round is an exercise that lasts 3 minutes. In between each round there is a 30 second "break" during which a trainer will yell out an exercise like jumping jacks, wall sits, lunges, etc. There are typically two trainers on the floor at all times. The trainers help teach and motivate you! 9Round membership comes with hand wraps, gloves, and a heart monitor to monitor your heart rate and calories burned during your workout. With no class times, you can workout whatever time is best for you! 9Round workouts are unlike any other. And 9Round Downtown KC is unlike any other 9Round I've experienced. Family-man and Owner, Rashad and his team work tirelessly to bring us fun, energizing workouts that actually WORK! They foster an inclusive, supportive workout community. And your first workout is free! Come try it out! What do you have to lose?

I tend to get bored of doing the same exercises so having something different to do (and working different parts of my body) at each station was perfect for me. And if you're worried it will be too intense, don't be. You have the freedom to go at your pace and the exercises are not too strenuous. I really loved the atmosphere and the music kept me pumped. If you're looking for a different workout experience, 9Round is the way to go. If you're ready to put in the work, it's definitely worth it.
