I showed up and was told that one of the hygienists called in sick and they'd be unable to take me. They weren't able to call me because they didn't have my number on file they said. They'd be unable to accommodate me today ( even though they did have another hygienist working and were taking certain patients back while I was talking to them) and wanted to reschedule me. I really didn't appreciate the lack of respect for my time and luckily this is far from the only dentist in St. Louis. Based on this experience I don't recommend this business.

Recently, Essence…read moreHealthcare switched their dental coverage to Liberty Dental...when my husband went in for his regular exam and cleaning, he asked specifically if Sunset Hills Dental took his new Dental coverage, and they said yes. Two days AFTER his appointment, the office called and said that they were considered out-of-network, and that he now owed almost $300. Then the snippy person at the office told him it shouldn't be a big deal because he's always been paying out of pocket. WTAF????? For the record, other than dental work, the most he has paid out of pocket was about $80 when the office started doing xrays twice a year to pad their billing, and his former insurance only paid for xrays once a year. I have been a patient at Sunset Hills Dental as well; they have lost me as well. I have already found another dental practice and will not return to SHDG.

My dentist of 25+ years died several years ago. A friend, a dental hygienist, recommended Dr. Emily Johnson. I'm so glad! Not enough room for the raves. She is an excellent dentist and just as kind and friendly a person as you will ever meet. Just one story - I had gotten a temporary crown and it came out right before I was leaving town. Dr. Johnson had me come up to the office to take care of it (even though the office was closed). And Denise?! Denise simply rocks. She does SUCH an outstanding job cleaning my teeth - and educating me about what I need to do as well to keep my teeth and gums healthy. SO happy my friend recommended them . . . now I'm recommending them to everyone!

I was kind of shocked by the ~$4,000 quote. In this economy?! Made several other consultations, and Humphrey was roughly THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS less for the SAME TREATMENT. We are in the beginning stages of treatment but the staff is super friendly and helpful, appointments are easily made, and two office locations are convenient.

Like the other reviewer, I had an appointment at Dr. Danyluck's 3535 S Jefferson location. The…read moreappointment was scheduled for 2PM. When I scheduled the appointment I got a warning from Dr. Danyluck's assistant that they took lunch from 1-2, so that if I got there a little early and no one was inside I should wait for a while until they got back. Sure enough I got there at 1:55 and no one was there. Fair enough, they had provided chairs so I sat down and started to wait. There was also a note on the door saying from four days prior saying that Dr. Danyluck was out with the flu and all appointments for that day were cancelled. Since I hadn't been called with a cancellation and the note was dated four days ago, I assumed that my appointment hadn't been cancelled. I sat and waited until 2:15 and no one showed up, so I went home. I'm still not sure if lunch just went long today or he was out with the flu again and no one called me to tell me my appointment was cancelled. Either way, this is extremely unprofessional and I will not be returning. Before I left, another patient with an appointment arrived who had also not been called with a cancellation, so I wasn't the only one who wasn't called.

The star reduction came from having a lot of trouble finding his office (it's in a large complex of medical buildings) in addition to a long (45 min?) wait b/c the office was severely back logged. When I did see Dr. Danyluck, he was very pleasant and efficient. My dental hygienist, Lisa, was also efficient and very friendly. I'll return here but will arrive early next time to be the first to sign in for my time slot.

My husband and I both switched to Pristine Dental after reading the great reviews. My husband was…read moredue first and when he came home from his cleaning appointment he kept saying " they are really nice but the whole process was strange" over and over again. Today was my cleaning appointment... I was called back and the two assistants took my panoramic xray and then pointed to a room and said " youre going to be in there", so I walk into the room and seat myself- wait a few moments and then the same two assistants came back to take a full mouth xray. As they were finishing, the doctor came in and introduced herself, examined my teeth and said everything looked great. Then the hygienist came in, took measurements of my gums and then said "ok the doctor will be in shortly". I thought it was strange since I had already seen the doctor but I waited a little while longer and then the first assistant came in and polished and flossed my teeth. Again I thought that was weird, in my experience that always happened AFTER the cleaning. When she was finished she said " let's go up front and get you scheduled for your cleaning". I told her I thought that's what I was here for and she explained that they only have one hygienist on staff except for Wednesdays when they have two. I was literally there for an hour and twenty minutes but I never had a cleaning. The front desk tried to schedule my cleaning for tomorrow but I will not be going back, the time management at this office is HORRIFIC. If you don't have to worry about your schedule and how many times you have to go for a cleaning then sure this is the place for you but for normal people who have to take time out of our day for these kind of appointments I would highly highly suggest going elsewhere as this office does NOT care about your time.
