Finding a new dentist is hard. Finding the right dentist is even more of a challenge. Who will you…read moretrust with your teeth? Is this person going to be gentle or understanding about your dental needs? Will they treat you kindly? Those were some of the many questions lurking inside my head when I needed to find a new dentist. I honestly went to one just a few blocks from this office a week or two before coming here. I had my cleaning there and heard some rude comments by the dentist (not addressed to myself but to another patient). Still, that comment made me not want to go back there. Luckily, I searched around, found this place and I've been happy since! I started seeing Dr. Ahmad-Majeed in September initially for a second opinion about all the work my new/former dentist wanted to do after meeting for the first time. I explained to her my fear of going to the dentist and that if it's true that we truly do need to replace several fillings that I would appreciate it if we do it at a pace I am comfortable with. I also had a crown that supposedly needed replacing prior to coming here which she then confirmed to be correct but again, she let me choose when I would be comfortable enough to get the work done. She even offered some anxiety medication but I refused since my anxiety level is really not that unmanageable. She started doing some of the dental work that needed done from around October and finished everything by November. I know it sounds like a lot but they were 3 fillings that needed redone and a new crown. The procedures were spaced out nicely though so I didn't feel too anxious during every visit. The procedures went smoothly and Dr. Ahmad-Majeed had always made sure that I was comfortable during them and wasn't in any unbearable pain. She willingly gave me breaks when I needed them especially when she was working on my fillings. I came back today to get my 6-months cleaning and met Carolyn who is a dental hygienist at the office. She was also very friendly and kept asking me if I was doing okay throughout the cleaning process. I had one area which was sensitive and she quickly became aware of it from my wincing. She also explained why I have sensitivity issue on that area and offered some ways to alleviate the issue. Overall, I like this dental office and I've had a wonderful experience here. I know dental work can never truly be a wonderful experience but it can be made better by the attitude of the people doing the work. In this case, it's very true for me!

The office is clean and the staff is friendly and professional. I felt immediately at ease. Dr. Ahmad has since filled two cavities for me. I was very nervous after a difficult root canal experience in my previous city, but she was friendly, kind, and patient. The experience was surprisingly quick and I feel great. I would recommend this practice to others.

Given the timing and the painful abscess, I went where I could get in, and that was my first mistake. Over the course of five months, I saw a dentist at Francis Park Dental Group and Rock Hill, as well as their St. Peter's location, all part of the SMILE Generation Network. I had a tooth that required an extraction and an implant, but their diagnosis was far more extreme; they went as far as telling me that all my teeth were loose and that I required much more work before they would complete the implant. Scare Tactics, and I fell for it! In July of 2025, I was to have the first half of my mouth, as I understand it, deep-cleaned and scaled on the left side. On that day, I am not sure what they did, though I can tell you it was the most painful dental experience I have ever had. I paid nearly $1700 up front for the left side of my mouth, with them assuring me that insurance would cover the rest. A few days after the procedure, their Rock Hill office called to inform me that they had not received preauthorization to proceed and that I now owed them another $ 1,500. They also requested that I track down my periodontal records from over 20 years ago, which is impossible to do. They bought the cart before the horse, and when I clearly understood that the work they were performing was neither necessary nor approved by both my dental plans with Delta, I canceled the procedure for the right side. They then said they would deep-clean the gums, after which we could proceed. I canceled that too and immediately found a new dental group. Since that time, I have been assured that my teeth are not all loose and that whatever they did in July was likely not required. I have also found that they charge nearly twice as much as Southwest Oral Surgeons for bone grafts, which is unacceptable. I have researched the group and found that this corporation operates a network of offices using scare tactics, an ongoing "extra"smile-generation credit card to trap customers into inflated dental work and interest charges.

Just got new insurance and figured it was time to get it over with. I saw Dr Sherine Apte. I told her about my fears and she was so gentle. She verbally walked me through everything. Constantly checking to see if I was comfortable. My teeth are so clean. I will never let it go that long again. Especially after finding such great care. Not only was dr Apte amazing but the staff was top notch too. Receptionist , hygienist. She also remembered me from my previous visit, which just shows her attention to her clients and that she cares. I've never had a filling that felt "right" the first day (it usually takes some getting used to). Plus, she used the least amount of anesthetic necessary, which I appreciated (and had requested), and it was still painless! The staff is great - very helpful in trying to lower costs and figure out what procedures/devices my insurance covers and what they don't. I'm so glad this is my new dentist.
