I've had such a great experience with Dr. Spalitto and the entire team. Everyone is friendly, professional, and makes you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in. I recently started SureSmile treatment here, and the whole process has been so much easier and smoother than I expected. I first went in for a consult and scans that were sent off to SureSmile, and during that appointment they really took the time to listen to what I specifically wanted to improve. Then I went back in to review the 3D model and treatment plan, which was actually really cool to see. That appointment felt very conversational and relaxed, and they were happy to answer all of my questions and concerns without making me feel rushed or pressured! About two weeks later all of my trays came in, and honestly I started noticing improvements after just a few trays. The pain/discomfort has been very minimal, and my teeth are already looking so much better. Dr. Spalitto and his staff are awesome! I suffer from childhood trauma dealing with the dentist and put off seeing one for almost 20 years. The Doc and staff made feel as comfortable as humanly possible. They are kind, gentle and sincere. I had to have an extensive cleaning and four very long sessions for 12 crowns and 3 fillings. The Doc and staff were constantly checking in with me during procedures to see that I was doing OK. They were willing to stop working at any time and give me a break. WCD is a place of joy and kindness. I had my first visit when I was in a dental emergency. WCD was able to get me in the day I called, and did an amazing job of explaining everything from their insurance policy to the procedure. Dr. Spalitto was efficient, and thoughtful. When I moved to St. Louis from Boston I had a difficult time finding a dentist I trusted and felt comfortable with. That was until I found Dr. Spalitto and his team at West County Dental. I have been extremely satisfied with the high level of care I have received, the inviting staff and sense of community. I highly recommend West County Dental. During my first appointment, Dr. Spalitto did a dental health assessment and explained in detail to me an overall dental health plan designed specifically for me. This alone made me feel like more than just another patient. He took an interest in MY dental needs and not just any dental needs. I recently had a cut on the roof of my mouth (pesky sharp Cheez-its!) that was not healing and I was unable to eat due to the pain. I called West County Dental at 8am and was sitting in the dentist chair by 1pm. An oral ulcer had formed and I had punctured it...they were able to use a laser to speed up the healing process (reducing in size) and give me immediate relief - no more pain! It didn't end there, Dr. Spalitto did a follow up appointment a week later to ensure it was all healed and was not something more serious. This is why I go back to Dr. Spalitto and West County Dental. They CARE about MY health. read more

Dr. Spalitto and the staff at West County Dental have been so great to me. They are always so thorough, patient, friendly and make the visits easy breezy. All the treatments and recommendations are explained via testing results and photos which make it all easier to understand. Dr. Spalitto helps me to understand the treatments I need and why so I can make the best decision for my oral health and my overall health. They do everything they can to make your visit enjoyable by offering movies, music, etc - so you can have some entertainment and not think about what is going on. I have debated writing this review for months, because I hate the idea of blasting someone on the internet, but at the same time I had the WORST experience with this whole office. After talking with my friends, I decided it would be a disservice to other people trying to find an honest and professional dentist not to write about my experience. I will never go back to Dr. Spalitto's office again. Another reviewer wrote about his "high pressure sales tactics", I would also like to add the lack of transparency in costs and explanations. I went in for a teeth cleaning. The hygienist spent about two and half hours with me, and only actually cleaned my teeth after I asked for it multiple times. When I left I was billed about $350 (!) and told I had 2 "minor cavities, that most other dentists wouldn't even worry about". When I asked if insurance would cover the appointment and teeth cleaning (like it normally does), I was informed my insurance (Delta Dental) was bad and the worst on the market and would barely cover anything. I was then asked to come back to review their findings and talk about options to fix my two cavities. When I went back a week later, the office manager informed me I actually had 7 cavities and they needed to be fixed in stages. Again, she told me my insurance was horrible and the worst and not worth paying for. The prices she quoted were nearing $3k-$4k to fix these new cavities that they just happened to find since I was in there a week before! This whole situation felt extremely pushy and made me uncomfortable. A year earlier, I had a perfect check up with another dentist and I have always been proactive about taking care of my teeth in the best way possible (regular brushing, flossing, whitening, etc.). I don't understand how in less than a year I developed 7 cavities, 5 of which were "discovered" a week after I actually left the examination room. I recognize it was my fault not to check with them to ask if Delta Dental was covered at their office, but I believe they should have told me that when I repeatedly asked about insurance and costs rather than telling me my insurance was bad and the worst on the market as they were charging me unnecessary costs and trying to convince me to pay them thousands to fix cavities I honestly doubt I have. This whole experience taught me I can't trust health care providers to explain insurance coverage to me, but it also taught me I can't trust this office to do anything to my teeth. I highly suggest other new patients try and find a different dentist and office, because this was one of the worst health care experiences I've ever had. read more
