Miguel's Home Services - This is a finished project, the project was did a frenchdrain to protect the wall of the home from the rain water ! Customer was very happy!

Miguel's Home Services

I hired Miguel to paint a small alcove in my San Francisco apartment (about 7 x 5 ft). After an…read moreinitial site visit and quote ($900), communication became very difficult--texts went unanswered and he even canceled once because he mixed up the job date. I had changed the color from white to a blue-green and texted him the exact flat and satin finishes. He confirmed twice that he had the correct paint, but on the day of service arrived with white instead. He then went to buy the right color, and his son and another worker did the painting. Unfortunately, the first job was poor: uneven coverage on each wall, holes and trim hooks left unpatched, light ceiling coverage, messy edges, and paint spots on the floor. They also didn't leave the paint cans behind. Miguel wasn't present, even at the end to look it all over. When I contacted him a few days later, he agreed to fix it and returned a week later with the crew. They repainted the whole alcove, and the result the second time was satisfactory. While I appreciate that he came back and corrected the work, the overall experience--miscommunication, bringing the wrong paint, poor initial workmanship, and the delay it caused--means I wouldn't hire this company again.

His team was courteous and effective, they used quality materials, state of the art procedures, and communication was great. He was flexible incorporating our change requests, provided a competitive estimate and stayed within the estimated costs (plus my added voluntary changes) and time frame. Highly recommend for your drainage needs! Update: a day after the work was finished, we had an atmospheric river. Unfortunately, it caused water entry in two of our rooms, which did not have water issues before. For part of the drain trench, the team overlooked that the foundation switched from crawl space to slab foundation and did not dig deep enough, backing the water right into two of our finished spaces. I reported the problem immediately and the team worked quickly to mitigate the issue by reworking the affected area under their warranty. I had to give feedback during the repairs to the team onsite that the foundation foil and protection was properly applied to the deeper level, instead of just lowering the trench on the bare concrete.

He smoothed over patchily repaired drywall, sanded down closet doors that were caked with splotchy layers by previous painters, and was so responsive and respectful of my mom who was in and out of the house during the process. There are times when you find folks who truly value and love their work, and you can see it in every inch of the result. Their time is worth every single penny. Peter is this for painting. I'm so glad that Peter seems to have a good flow of customers -- it's absolutely deserved. If we ever need painting for our own home, I'll gladly wait any amount of time it takes to hire Peter and his team again. It's more than worth it.

Peter and his team did an excellent job on the exterior painting of our house and garage. They were…read moreextremely thorough and very detailed. They spent a good amount of time prepping, taping, and covering windows to make sure the job was done neatly. They also sanded peeling/chipped paint and patched holes in the stucco. They were respectful of our property and also our neighbors' property that they needed to access to paint the side of our house. Peter is very knowledgeable about paint brands, colors, and finishes. He had helpful recommendations for things we hadn't even considered, like painting the porch floor a lighter color to contrast the darker walls so it didn't feel like a dark cave and selecting a flat finish to avoid highlighting places where the stucco was patched. We hadn't picked all the paint colors before the job started and Peter stopped by on his day off on the weekend to share samples of paint colors that he obtained for us from the store. We really wanted a bright color for our door and even though it required many coats, Peter was willing to do the extra work to make the bright yellow look good. Peter was heavily involved in both overseeing his team and in doing a lot of the work himself. Every morning he met with his crew and gave very detailed instructions on exactly how he wanted everything done. He was on site for the entire job making sure everything was done properly. When they finished the work they did a good job cleaning up. Peter and the team were extremely responsible, honest, and very talented. The cost was reasonable considering the high quality of the work and craftsmanship. We were so impressed by the Final Coat Painting team that we highly recommend them to friends and would hire them again for future jobs!

Saber Roofing did an excellent job!  Ryan explained my roof-tile options and had great links to what they look like on real houses through his website. His site also provided information about the roofing process and materials. I waited for his service through winter rain & my own scheduling limitations, and it was more than worth the wait. Ryan's crew were professional, kept the site clean, repaired some rot of my 26-yr-old roof, installing new roof vents that only his company had recommended for safety & energy savings. I had asked for certain areas to be sealed well, preventing any  "creatures' " entrance that he'd agreed needed to be professionally corrected, which his crew did very thoroughly.  Ryan was available throughout the process and got back to me immediately with any questions I had. The contract added the plywood replacement  for the rotted areas, all clearly noted and within the price frame in the contract for unknown rot once the old roof was removed. The total payment was understandable & reasonable. The roof looks great, their guarantee also great. I couldn't be happier with the excellent professionalism, caring & quick communication Ryan's Saber Roofing provided.

I contacted several roofing and gutter companies to get estimates for a few projects. I am very…read morehappy that I chose Saber Roofing for plenty of reasons. 1) The owner, Ryan, met with me to discuss the work and was very thorough and helpful in answering all my questions. 2) Important details were covered including adding a rain chain in a location where a downspout would have been unsightly (picture attached). Among the details, the rain chain is made of copper while the gutter is made of aluminum. Having these two metals come in contact could compromise the aluminum over time. So, Saber installed the copper rain chain with a protective barrier. 3) Their client service and sales director, Jake, was super helpful and extremely responsive to all my questions. 4) The crew was very efficient, provided high quality workmanship, and left the site spotless. 5) The gutter guards that were installed provide a really fine barrier to prevent even small debris from entering my gutters, but are easy to rinse so that fine particles can be washed through the gutters. 6) The two downspouts that were installed were matched to the color of our trim. Other companies offer limited colors or simply white downspouts, but Saber offers a wide variety. 7) Their pricing is very competitive. From end to end, this was a great experience and I highly recommend Saber Roofing.

My exposure to CAWC's work is indirect in the way that I have worked in a project that CAWC…read morere-coated, but more importantly, I am a unit owner in an HOA that CAWC was contracted to recoat and waterproof. My review is mainly based on the latter project, during which I also met one of the co-owners (Roy), as I was the project chair for some of the work performed on the community. The project was managed by Casey from Ferrari-Moe LLP. Bottom line is that CAWC's attention to detail is lacking big time. It may be that the waterproofing work they perform is long lasting (only time can tell), but the paint work they perform is underaverage. More importantly, they cause their own problems in a way that they mess up freshly painted surfaces, which means, it is better than before, but less than average work in the end. In addition, keeping schedule is not their strong suit, either, while I cannot speak to their budget keeping, since I was not involved in the budgeting of the project or work. Speaking to the co-owner (Roy) on more than one occassion, it is clear that he is interested in big projects and "keeping the assembly line running". Blemishes (minor or not so) are put on a "punch list", which grows quickly, but is not tackled swiftly, while there will be a lot of argueing over each item. In this context, employing Ferrari-Moe to manage this project did not seem to help, either. If you are a private property owner, I recommend looking for a different company to waterproof your house, assuming you care for your home. I am looking at CAWC's work every time I leave my unit now and I am reminded every time that I would not have called them to work on my house.

The work was done as promised, inspections were scheduled smoothly, and everything passed city inspection without any issues. It gave me a lot of confidence knowing the job was done right and up to code. When it was taking longer than expected to obtain the permits from the city, Ricardo was kind and courteous helping answer my questions and following up on my project's behalf.
