Got an expensive bill for a transmission and had family and old coworkers all telling me to steer clear of of the shop now since it was changed and that I would regret it, but I went through with it anyways. This resulted in a series of being givens false times, being told I would be kept up to date on the progress only to never be in the loop at all, and the final result being poor work done on the vehicle for an exuberant cost. The delays would have been fine if they stopped promising so much as I only went with them because they said it would be done by a certain point and almost cost my partner and I our jobs as we kept giving out new estimated return times to our workplaces and using up what little vacation time we had to just consistently be told to wait longer and longer. Even more work than a transmission was needed in the end and I was not charged, but it was still nonetheless another delay that took another day from us and while not charged for this fix, it was done poorly and I am at my preferred mechanic finally getting it done correctly. The final result after the days of frustration and excuses given out was a car that finally let us go home, albeit now three times as loud and still showing issues from before that I paid for them to fix that I am now paying another person to fix. I should have trusted all my coworkers next door to the shop and family members when they said to not go here, and will be steering clear like the others from now on.

But with Ed you get the job done right and for a reasonable amount. I had a oil leak and they fixed it hands down. I had other experiences elsewhere where they changed something expensive and has to go back because was not fixed. I am soo happy that I did not have to buy a new car and it has been 2 years after the fix and still no problems whatsoever. HIGHLY Recommend!!!!

After evaluating my Ford I was told that there was a Technical Bulletin that came out from Ford several years ago. I am impressed that they did the research to evaluate my car. They told me I did NOT NEED A TRANSMISSION. I only needed an update on the vehicle computer. Here's the numbers. Ford wanted $3500 for a rebuilt transmission. A new transmission was $6000. Final cost at Scotty's $150 to evaluate $250 to upload the new software Total $400.00 Can't say enough good things about this place. Talk about trusting a Mecanic!!! Due to preexisting damage to my rim, they didn't think the tire would seal properly so I could make my 70 mile trip back home. They put my spare on and told me "no charge" for their services. I appreciate a mechanic you can trust and who gives you realistic options. His shop is worth the 20 minute drive for me. I expected Audi parts since Dave told me he had to order parts. Instead I got AutoZone parts that are right next door to Mavis. Now Joshua McNeil, the District Manager, is refusing to get the Audi parts to replace the AutoZone parts because I want proof of actual Audi parts being installed. This store is not transparent & are using bait & switch tactics. Dave did not tell me he was purchasing after market parts from AutoZone. I followed Gary Hoffer, Mavis District Manager, from Sparta STS, to Sparta Mavis to Newton Mavis. Gary is a reputable & honest man, now in Maryland. I do not feel that Dave nor Mr. McNeil are forthright. Buyer be ware.

Every time that we have brought a vehicle to them to have diagnosed and fixed it has been repaired on time and at the cost stated and I have never had to bring any vehicle back because it was not fixed correctly. We have had repairs ranging from standard oil change, complete brake jobs including calipers all the way up to replacement of a leaking transmission pan. These guys are my go to mechanics! I called ahead and scheduled an oil change for 1:30 PM, and the call center confirmed the time. I arrived as scheduled, having planned my day around it -- only to be told the job would now take an hour and a half instead of the usual 20-30 minutes, with no explanation for the delay and no advance notice or offer to reschedule. If a fifteen-minute job suddenly takes ninety minutes, it tells me someone else was worked in ahead of me, and my scheduled time simply wasn't respected. When I called customer service afterward to raise the issue, I spoke with a representative -- Laurie or Donna, I believe -- who seemed eager to get off the phone and deflected any responsibility, making clear "it wasn't their problem." That kind of dismissiveness toward a loyal, longtime customer is unacceptable. Between the disregard for scheduled appointments, the lack of communication, and the dismissive customer service, I won't be returning to Sussex Honda for service at least until they change something -- and I will not recommend it to others. I'd urge management to take a hard look at how appointments and customer service are being handled.

Upon inspection they told me the rotors were warped and they would take care of it. I wasn't happy because I spent a lot of money for a new car and I have defective rotors. They told me not to go down steep hills. Are you kidding me? The car was brand new and expensive. I told them there needs to be a recall on this problem and I wanted them replaced. I was told unless they get more complaints about the rotors it won't be replaced. My brother purchased the same vehicle different color and he had the same problem. What are the chances of that happening if it wasn't an on going problem. To top it off my sunroof started to leak. I brought to Honda and was told it was fixed. It happen to be raining and as I pulled out of the lot water poured into my car. I turned around asked to speak to the service manager and told him off. I contacted the honda corporation and filed a complaint about both issues. I told them what happened. I had a case number and was told the team will investigate. Lo and behold I was told Sussex Honda said they repaired both issues. I told them they're putting a bandaid on things that need to be replaced. I'm over the mileage for the lemon law and I'm stuck with a lemon of a car. I'll never buy Honda again and will never reccomend it. Honda sucks and so does the dealership. If you're smart stay away. I can't tell you how many times I went back there for both problems and was told everything was repaired. If you're smart you won't buy a honda and stay away from Sussex Honda.

As a woman coming into an autobody shop alone, this is really Important. Ray and John are always SO nice and communicate incredibly well. Many if the men are also courteous and professional when bringing me into the shop to explain their reasoning behind any surprise repairs I may have to get.
