I had trouble with aggression towards my older dog, and biting of anyone that spent more than a minute with L.

We've worked with the UC Davis Vet Behavioral School as well as multiple trainers and thankfully, we were referred to Judith at Red Mountain Canine as a trusted, responsible caretaker. My partner and I have put in countless hours of training and it's very important to us that whoever takes care of Ollie minimizes his triggers and respects his limits as to not regress on our progress made. Judith is a god send! We did a meet-and-greet and then boarded our dog with her for 4.5 days. This was the first time both of us were away from him since rescuing him in April 2020. She's incredibly thorough in making sure she has all the necessary care information and is very thoughtful with how she engages with our dog. Our dog is very sensitive and Judith is the perfect match for him. She is patient, communicative, and professional. She gave Ollie his medicine in the morning and evening and helped make progress on his behavior training plan (stranger danger). She also sent us awesome updates and photos during our trip. You can tell she really cares about her clients :) We are really thankful to be able to work with Judith and she gives Ollie the time and attention he needs to be successful. She even builds on the work we do at home with him! We look forward to using Red Mountain for the rest of our boarding needs.

We 100% trust her and would recommend this facility to anyone--our dog is HARD, so I have so much faith in Judith. And look, doggo even got lotsa good mountain sniffs in!

Two of my children struggle with pet allergies so I knew getting a dog may have been out of the question. I did over a year of research on the breed that would be most beneficial with those that suffer from allergies and found that either Schnauzer or Doodle would be best. Next I started to research breeders for both but finally landed on just doodles. That's when I came across Sugar Pine Doodles on the internet. I had reservations given all the horror stories you hear about fake breeder websites that prey on people and steal hundreds of dollars. I read though all the information on the website and finally decided to make contact through email. Dale was my first point of contact and he was patient enough to answer all my first time pet owner questions. Just a couple months after my first contact, family and I were on our way to pickup our boy (we didn't know at the time he was going to be a boy). Dale and Jeannine were very patient with us and let us spend as much time during pickup at their home. They walked us through everything from puppy stages, concerns, things to look for, etc... They were very knowledgeable on the breed and made the decision an easy one. Mason just passed his 4th birthday and I can't say enough that he's one of the best decisions we ever made. There was a lot of trial and error, given our rookie status, but after all the patience and training he received, he is the best boy ever! We can't imagine living this life without him. He spends the majority of his time with my oldest daughter in college and has really helped her. He is her ESA. We will definitely be purchasing another pup from Sugar Pine, but just waiting on the right time. I would recommend them a million times over.

The dog she had selected had behavioral issues that she knew were correctable.  She had to deal with all of the negative behaviors and train her until she not only behaved acceptably but is now just an incredible pet.  Though we had been more border collie people, when we came to Kirsten to help us pick the right dog she chose the perfect match for us. This dog will sit, lie down, and wait until we say it's ok before she eats her food. We've never had that in any previous dogs. While she sometimes tests the boundaries, she also knows that the kitchen is off limits and she's not allowed on furniture. She loves to play ball, fetch, and just run joyously around the yard. Kirsten told us that she had to teach her to play. It seems that she may have been used as a breeder and not treated very well. I have a deteriorating medical condition which I'm sure our dog will adapt to and be good company for me, and then be a great companion for my husband down the road. We truly feel that this dog and the training Kirsten provided were heaven sent.

She showed us the best ways to work on calming things down when visitors arrive, and also provided ways our children can help be involved training - and making sure our dogs are responding to small children in appropriate ways. She had so much knowledge to share, and seemed to pick up on their personalities very quickly. I am so grateful we were able to get on her calendar so quick after her year of traveling. We will definitely be referring her to anyone we know looking for a dog trainer. Hank and Waffles look forward to their next session.

We learned a ton about reading body language and how to help build our dogs confidence so she can enjoy more of this world. Anna was super funny and was constantly teaching us things about our dogs and how to read them and reminding us that we are doing good! Not once did we feel judged or insecure about anything. we look forward to our next training session!
