Dry rub order (2 wings seasoned out of 10, 1 shown mid right)

Updating my review as I gave it another chance This time ordered 10 dry rub wings and fried pickle chips ($46 with delivery). First, the dry rub wings came with 2 seasoned out of 10. The other 8 had either minimal or no dry rub seasoning. Included pics of my wings vs. their Instagram launch post to show the difference. Second, the pickle chips are somehow now orange?? Maybe they changed the recipe. They're extremely salty and taste like they were cooked in old oil. Either way they don't match the normal pickle chips I'm used to or their own website photo. I will not be ordering from this Dan and John's location again. There's great pub wings around with much better quality and consistency than this overpriced location. They should seriously consider replacing kitchen staff here or consolidating their operation to a better performing location. This location fails consistently.

If you're looking for great wings with a lot of meat and drowned in your sauce of choice then Dan & John's Wings is the place to be! Came here for a round of wings and beer....I mean who could say no to that combo?!

True contender for best buffalo wings in the city. This is the flagship location, though there are several outposts strewn throughout the city. While the space is somewhat austere, they've got TVs, cold beer, and hot wings. Provide the company and you have all you need.

Solid. Not much to find fault with besides the restaurant being a little warm. Table could have been cleaner. Ultimately, minor complaints. You're here for the wings and they do that well enough, along with the standard sides. We had tots, onion rings and zucchini. Wings were a decent size but a little drier than I'd like but not exactly overcooked, so I'll call it a decent compromise to avoid having large chunks of unrendered fat. Sauces (garlic park and hot Buffalo for us) did what they were supposed to do, bringing moisture and flavor. 50 wings plus 3 sides were enough for 5 big eaters. Good spot for wings, on par with the East village location.

Great wings! Just like my Buffalo wings! Had garlic parmesan, lemon pepper, and medium. All great! The fried pickles were amazing.

Ordered take out from here via chownow.com. The restaurant offered a quarantine special - $28 for 20 wings and 4 beers so thought I'd give a try. I was able to choose 2 flavours for the 20 wings so I chose honey mustard and the hot buffalo wings. I went to pick it up myself and only had to wait for a few minutes for it to be ready. I asked if I could choose the beers but it was already packaged. The wings were freshly made and I enjoyed it. The hot wings weren't as hot as I thought it was going to be but I enjoyed it. The honey mustard wings were also nice and saucy. The 4 beers they packed weren't bad - ok selection overall. Can't complain for the price we paid. Will definitely order from here again!! Also - the restaurant separated sanitized pens vs used pens (see picture). I thought that was a nice touch!

Traditional wings!

I honestly think these are some of the best wings that I've had in NYC, and that's saying a lot. The wings are perfectly fried and there are plenty of flavors to choose from which would satisfy anyone's palate. I tried the inferno, garlic parmesan, lemon pepper, and sweet BBQ. All of them were delicious. It's a small, casual place with most people congregating around the bar area when I went (on a weekday at 6PM). My friend and I chose to sit at a table and we had to order from the bar area, which was not a problem. Everything is made fresh to order so there may be a short wait, but it's definitely worthwhile. I've never seen any specials on the wings, but they do have a few daily drinks specials to choose from. Next time, I definitely have to try the boneless wings!

Came here with friends to hang out. It didn't disappoint. We had an amazing time. We ordered multiple variety of wings: Mild, Inferno, Lemon Pepper, Garlic Parmesan, BBQ Sweet, and other. They came with complimentary Blue Cheese, and Celery. We also had tots, and mozzarella sticks. We had these with pitches of beer. I gotta say, i got wow and this place is def one of the best place to go for wings :)

Came here on a Sunday night to order for takeout; probably the worst time to come since their menu is so limited on Sundays. On Sundays you can't order 5 piece, it has to be 10 pieces or more. For the 10 pieces wings, you can't get half of this and half of that, it has to be 10 of the exact same wings. And they ran out of sweet chili sauce. I order 10 pieces of inferno flavored boneless wings, with an extra inferno sauce on the side. The wings were alright. Didn't taste like wings. Probably won't get boneless again and stick with traditional. The inferno sauce wasn't that hot. Should definitely ask for a sample before ordering.

Now listen up, wings are my absolute favorite food. I eat and order wings anywhere I go, all around the world. Dan and John's wings are hands down the best wings in New York. There is nowhere close to them. Dan is such a good dude also, very professional very courteous. We first tried them in smorgasburg and we are soooo happy they have this place set up now. We ordered a bottle of wine and about 30 wings and some onion rings before we hit the Knicks game, and as per usual the wings did not disappoint. There are so many wing spots all around but if you aren't going to Dan and John's you aren't "winging" right. We will definitely be back over and over and over again, and this is a trip for us since we're from Long Island, but they're worth it. TRUST ME.

5 piece lemon pepper wings

Another outpost of this popular wing joint, located in a row of eateries on Third Avenue. Tuesday evening, was able to get a seat at the bar facing the TVs. Simple menu of various chicken types, various sauces, and sides. Decided on the 5-piece traditional wings with lemon pepper sauce ($9) to go along with one of their canned beers ($7ish). Before the wings, arrive, you get a plate of celery sticks and blue cheese (or ranch) dipping sauce to tide you over. Blue cheese in chunky, going fine with the cold celery sticks. Wings come out after several minutes - five well fried pieces drenched in that tangy sauce. Based on my last stopover here, the wings have definitely gotten smaller. While the meat was lacking, the sauce beings in that tang, though could have more of a pepper kick. Service is superb as always, but the chicken wings have taken a hit (possibly from the shortage?). Worth another trip to try the tenders instead.

So when we were back in town, we decided to stop in--fully expecting to have just one drink and move on. That plan did not happen. We ended up staying a couple of hours, ordering food, and having many drinks. Bin 71 is mostly a wine bar, with a few beers mixed in, and it definitely feels like a locals spot. The bartenders knew a lot of the people coming in, which added to the friendly, laid-back vibe. It's very small, so it can get cramped, but in a cozy, everyone's-in-it-together kind of way. Food-wise, we were pleasantly surprised. I ordered the grilled cheese and my husband got the fish soup (cod, I think?). Both were delicious, but that grilled cheese was spectacular--honestly way better than expected from a wine bar. I'm not much of a wine drinker, so I won't pretend to give a detailed wine review, but everything we had was enjoyable. What really stood out was the atmosphere. We ended up chatting with other people at the bar, and the whole experience was just genuinely fun. If you're looking for good wine, surprisingly great food, and a friendly local vibe, this place is worth checking out. Maybe don't go wildly out of your way for it--but if you're in the area, absolutely stop in.

It's pretty cool that this Turntable location is fully decorated with records, record players, posters, etc. and of course, with jazz playing in the background. We ordered the Medium Drums & Wings Combo which took about 30 minutes to prepare. In the meantime, we enjoyed the Kimchi Fried Rice w Chicken which was pretty solid. It was cooked well, good balance of savory & spicy flavors from the kimchi and the sunnyside egg added more umami and creaminess. I still felt it was a bit dry and could've used like spicy mayo but that's just me. The Medium Drums & Wings Combo was perfect for sharing among 2 people. Both flavors were delicious but the hot spicy just had more depth than the soy garlic. The pieces are large and the crunch is insanely addictive. And no better way to wash it all down than with a Sapparo on draft! Great try!

The cooking method literally takes time to fry it at least twice! As strange as it was to see them do this at every table, apparently it was because some uncultured dum-dums got their KFCs confused. I mean damn, imagine having to work in a place where you have to overexplain the obvious to each customer! "Welcome to Moonbucks! By the way ma'am, our hot beverages comes out very hot. Yes ma'am, that includes the pumpkin spiced latte. Yes ma'am, it is flavored with cinnamon." Derp. The decor around here was pretty cool, all hip and shit.
