It was the strangest lasagna I've ever had. My husband ordered the stuffed shells. Again, the meat almost made me gag. He said it's ok if you just don't think about the texture. I had a delightful dinner on my brief pass through Tulsa last weekend. The Caesar salad was crunchy and fresh and flavorful with an unusual basaltic meets Caesar type dressing. I shared it with my fellow diner but could have made 3 generous side salads out of it. Pasta with pesto was creamy and on the acidic side (pleasing for me) and we ordered ours with chicken added which was well executed. The dining room is sleek and a bit austere looking but photos and artwork help provide some warmth. Noise level was pretty high in a typical Italian restaurant way. Our server was fast and responsive if not very engaging. We shared both salad and entree without fuss. I appreciated that bread and soft drink refills were offered as in a casual diner even though this is not a diner type place. Such a disappointment. From the drinks to the appetizers to the entrées everything was below expectations. Drinks weren't consistent even though three people ordered the exact same drink we basically received three different drinks. They told us the bartender was colorblind and brought a small shot to add to the drinks. We ordered tableside Caesar salads but we only received the salad not the table side service. Out of six of us we tried 5 different entrées and they were all pretty bland. The pasta I got was sitting in a pool of liquid and had very little flavor at all. Another person had stuffed shells which also was sitting in a pool of liquid. That linguine with meatballs stated it was spicy and it was not spicy at all with huge chunks of tomato in the sauce and hard meatballs. The carbonara was good. I must say that the restaurant does have good Italian food from this family owned place...They don't like to make substitutions at all but will work with you a little. The waiter was very efficient and nice... my only thing was the noise level was extremely high... I don't think there is much they can do for this in their current location. Only place I found in tulsa that had beef carpaccio! The ambiance is great and it is a very relaxed crowd. Music Playlist was good as well, very classy to me and didn't force the patrons to need to speak too loud to be heard by their parties. I started off getting a lemon basil prosecco as my cocktail, which I enjoyed, not too sour or overly sweet but still, if you aren't into sweet bubbly, not for you. They brought warm bread with butter. I then ordered the beef carpaccio which came out with the olive oil drizzled already as well as the lemon already squeezed. It also had capers, shredded parmesan cheese and cracked pepper on the top. Great flavor although I did keep getting pepper chunks stuck. Next time maybe would request it without the pepper. It was pretty filling for me though. I put in an order of the pesto bow tie pasta with mushrooms to go since I was dining solo and I took a peek at it and it is a good size portion and smells HEAVENLY. The second cocktail ordered was a basil grapefruit margarita flavors were balanced an enough for me and the grapefruit really popped and complimented the tequila. Still sour but I like the taste of grapefruit with no sugar so you may wanna look out for that. Overall the service was great! I had dinner at Dalesandro's last night for the first time in several years and it was just as delicious as I remembered. As a table, we sampled the Olive Tampenada appetizer (special), table side Caesar salad, Linguine with Meatballs, Pesto, Stuffed Shells, and Carbonara. The meatballs are huge and absolutely delicious. They were the table favorite. I also loved the stuffed shells, but if you want to order them go early -- sometimes they run out! I'm not a huge carbonara fan but I liked theirs and thought the pesto was good as well although two of my dining companions thought the carbonara and pesto needed more salt. The table-side Caesar was wonderful and I enjoyed the appetizer as well (we ordered the small and there was plenty for 4 of us). The service was very good as well. Definitely plan to take home leftovers or split something because all of their portions are huge. Always a great classic Tulsa meal. I need to remember to eat here more often because it really is wonderful! read more

We had pasta carbonara, linguine with meatballs and stuffed shells. started with the caesar salads. the carbonara was wonderfully creamy and blended well with the saltiness of the bacon. the shells were - as advertised, a nice blend of cheese and mild italian sausage. the linguine sauce was very fresh and tasted home-cooked. Generous portions. friendly staff. the salad has a nice bite to it lots of romaine, and the dressing was terrific. the pastas were fresh, as well as the sauces. Atmosphere was loud and busy. the tables surround a very large bar, and there is zero sound deadening. not your place for a quit romantic dinner. The wine list at the table was very inexpensive, but I wanted something better, and they had a very nice Brunello de Motelcino that was off the list. overall, a great experience. Friendly, accommodating staff, high quality, excellent food. a little loud for my taste, but that was overcome by the terrific staff (Leslie) and food. Was looking for some good italian food in Tulsa, and decided that the wife and I had not tried the Midtown options in a while, so we traveled.... Ended up making reservations here, which was pretty easy.... First upon arriving we were sat literally IN THE KITCHEN. There is 1 table that sits almost in the kitchen at this restaurant. If I would have had it my way, I would not have sat here, but there was a waiting list, and it was Saturday, so- What the hey... Ordered an appetizer- the Carpaccio which left WAY too strong of a lemon flavor... To the tune that we did not even finish it... Was way too citrusy..... Salad, some sort of interesting twist on a Ceasar... Not bad, but man, over the top on the dressing.... Too strong of a flavor again... Then dinner came..... I was expecting FLAVOR explosion, and I was less than impressed with the flavor that my Lasagne had, and my wife had the Fettuccini and it as well was on the bland side.... I give these guys 2 star for several reasons.... That back table needs to be put there for either 1 of 2 types of diners.... 1) People you dont like -or- 2) people you dont want enjoying your restaurant. The pots and pans clanging and the talk from all of the servers hanging around at our table probably set me off the worst. Then the blasting over-lemoning of the Carpaccio changed my mind totally..... Okay. So I have always wanted to try this place as I have read such great reviews here on yelp about how great it was. To be honest, it is, in my opinion mediocre at best. Yes, the location and patio are great! The decor is reminiscent of an eatery in NYC. The service is/was great! Oh! And the bread is great too! Now, those were the good things. The not so good things? The food...unfortunately. Maybe we all ordered the wrong things from the limited menu. However all five of my dining companions said that their food was mediocre at best. And all were in agreement that the caesar salad saturated in too much wine vinegar dressing was just not edible. I ordered the potato soup which came in a huge bowl enough for 6 people. It was so bland and basically seemed like a bunch of potatoes and stale chewy sausage floating around in a warm milky broth. Yuck-i sent it away which I never do and hare doing, but trust me folks it was nasty. So, 3 stars for nice ambiance and service. The carpaccio is excellent - and also a huge portion. Come to this restaurant when you're in the mood to share! On the pasta side, the Carbonara is delicious, as is the Oliva Olio. I am not a swordfish fan, but I'm told if you are, this dish is the best around. Great service, excellent food. I always order the carbonara and it is truly special. My husband tries other dishes but he typically ends up eating half my carbonara as the portions are enormous. Also, the caesar salad is freshly made and delicious. I live in OKC and make a point to dine at Dalesandro's every visit to Tulsa. Heck, I would drive to Tulsa just to eat here. A nice find in downtown Tulsa on my one night visit! Dalesandros's came at the recommendation of a Tulsa local. It was a 0.6 miles from our hotel (Ambassador, which is also excellent)... a short and safe walk. I called Dalesandro's several times to make/cancel/re-make our reservation and the staff was always professional and accomadating. We can here on as Sat night at 6:30 and the place was full. we were fortunate that Dalesandro's were able to work us in (at the bar but that was fine with us). Its a small restaurant with a large bar in the center. the atmosphere was casual but the customers were all adults mixed with suits and weekend diners (dates/groups). On with the food. The Caesar salad was fresh and seasoned very well. Its quiet large and probably enough to share for a party of 4. Pasta w/ meatballs (also large portions... sufficient for 2) was good. The meatballs had great texture and consistency. I don't know what was in the seasoning for the sword fish but it was very memorable... Service was friendly, attentive, and professional. Checked on us often and brought things immediately when requested. Only downside is that i thought the pricing was slighly high. But, I would still highly recommend Dalesandro's~! read more

If you are looking for superb Italian in Tulsa, you will find it at Dalesandro's. The restaurant itself is beautiful and they have a spacious patio area. As many have mentioned, the Caesar Salad is divine. It is huge! And the dressing is different than the standard creamy caesar. It seems lighter but has just as much (if not more) flavor than you would expect of a caesar dressing. Our waiter was very helpful when we were having a hard time deciding what to order (but don't worry, everything is delicious). I love this place! Any trip to T-Town is not complete without a meal here. The Caesar Salad with crusty, rustic crouton crumbles and big leaves is flawless. The real gem, though, is the Chicken Cacciatore - the chicken falls off the bone in tender chunks and the red sauce is bright and lively -- a result of Cento Polpabellas added at the end with the wide rolls of authentic tagliatelle. Since I can't bring it to Dallas, we often have Dalesandro's night at home: all it takes are the right ingredients from Jimmy's, Newflower and the Theater Grocery and a little time. Have always loved this place but had a pretty disappointing meal. Took out of town guests for dinner Friday and the Caesar salad was great, as was the Pasta Carbonara. Downhill from there. Two orders of Pasta Pesto with chicken and both guests said the chicken was rubbery and inedible. An order of the nights special, which was Chicken Cacciatore, was awful. Came in around 8:15 on Valentine's Day and sat at the bar (we are totally those people that make last minute decisions). Our experience was so great! Ordered the Caesar salad which was amazing. I love the balsalmicy dressing. For dinner we did the lasagna and linguine and meatballs. OMG to dieeee for. We literally ate 1/4 of our meals because there was SO MUCH food. THEN we got chocolate covered strawberries. The strawberries were injected with something to make them so juicy (UGH SO BOMB!) and then dipped in white chocolate. Best I-talian in town...probably the "Midwest" or the "plains"!! This is the 1st place I eat when I get to town. I've even taken food to go 5 mins after the opened and ate while driving before a wedding just to eat at my fav place! The food is soooo inexpensive and the portions are huge. When I lived here decades ago I was a loyal customer and was sad when they closed their original location for a few years and was elated when Buzz reopened! And ohh soo happy when on my last dinner during Christmas saw they have added stuffed shells on the menu instead of the daily special...never remembered what day that was anyway. Super cute venue and small so you might wait but it's well worth it promise. A MUST eat is the lentil soup!! It IS THE BEST lentil soup I have ever had in my life and throughout my world travels...the whole garlic cloves, the fresh basil, fresh squeezed lime, and the 1 meatball makes this a bowl of pure heavenly perfection! So start off with lentil soup then have the stuffed shells if they haven't run out! The fresh marinara is to die for...I could bath in it...only a real Italian would appreciate a woman bathed in fresh tomatoes and garlic. If it's the Friday or Saturday try the swordfish...it's just as amazing! Really most everything is incredibly delicious. And end withe the chocolate gâteaux...flourless chocolate cake to die for. Wow, I'd heard this place was good and it did not disappoint!! I had the pesto pasta with the mushrooms and it was delicious. The mushrooms were just a little bit spicy and were an excellent addition. I managed to steal a little bit of my date's carbonara and man, that was even better!! I don't remember if it was pancetta or just thick cut bacon, but either way it was excellent. As for dessert, the bread pudding was to die for, and I don't even like bread pudding. An excellent meal all around. I will definitely be going back! Our waitress was great and everyone working there was friendly and pleasant. Love this quaint little Italian place. I often forget its there due its obscure location and we typically save it for special nights as can get pricey. Its fun to go with friends and do family style where you can try multiple dishes. Theres no special price for this, but they are kind enough to pre-split the dishes for you for easy sharing. If you go on a weekend night, I suggest a reservation as seating is limited, especially if you have 4 or more. You must order the Caesar salad for the table and the swordfish. It was very noisy inside, so we sat out. Service was slow- I think she kept forgetting about us and the table next to us received their first entree, which they sent back, AND got a second before we ever got our food. Mom ordered the chicken and broccoli "soup". She said the chicken was way over cooked, tough, and no flavor. I had the roasted chicken and spaghetti- not too bad.
