It appears that this is the Sardi's of Milan - portraits of Italian celebrities cover the wall all over and the food passes muster to match the star power. I was first brought a basket of bread but no accompanying olive oil. The bread was basically good but i waited until I had plates to scrape up sauce and oil from for the bread. My first dish was a Spaghetti with anchovies which was quite delicious. The pasta may have been a tad bit *too* al dente even for me, and I like it al dente! My second dish was the Veal Piccata with Artichoke. They brought me a Veal Piccata with Olives instead - which was not on the menu....but in my confusion I found that an earlier verison of the menu had it Pizzaola style - tomato-sauce with olives. That's not on their current menu though so when I asked them where the artichokes were, pointing to an image from their digital menu, they said no more and removed the plate and in a few instant minutes later brought me exactly what I ordered. The artichokes were broiling hot, obviously they rushed this together but it was tasty. I finished off with a Pasteria Napoletana from the dessert display case. It was all good. I don't know if I'd necessarily come back though as I had higher expectations of the food and the service, though. But worth trying once!

I had the shin of veal (osso buco) with risotto. The veal was absolutely well cooked and perfectly seasoned. The risotto on the other hand, I was a little disappointed. Perfectly seasoned but super under cooked. Trust me, I know Italians like al dente but this was practically raw (too too al dente). I had to let it sit for a while to let it still cook while it was hot. This is place can be pricey; however, service was amazing. I still recommend to try it out as they could have had an off day and to try something historic.

The restaurant is on a side street near the busy (with tourists from every corner of the globe) Duomo area. It is easy to find. It has a charming decor (though it is a bit darker and more romantically appointed than other area restaurants, as well as having an underground and almost bordello vibe). It is also larger than it might appear, as there are both ground floor, as well as a lower eating area seemingly for larger groups, as well as used during busier times. We have only eaten on the ground floor level. The menu offers ample variety, but is not what one would term extensive. It tends upscale, though not extremely costly (arguably average to slightly above average fine restaurant prices), but portions are on the smaller side. They have a specialty in dishes augmented and emphasizing the use of truffles, of which we have sampled several times. Over the course of our several meals we've had every pasta and risotto offered with truffle shavings. Of the appetizers we can recommend the meatballs, which are delicate and small, the bacon wrapped shrimp, and the octopus. Their desserts are also not the run of the mill and warrant tastings. All and all, we will always repeat here when in Milan. Frankly, though their Yelp average score is pretty good, we were surprised they do not have a higher Yelp average score.

We opted for the menu that the chefs design specifically for you that is made up of 10 (really 12 in our cases) small tapas like courses. Each plate is artistically created for you in an abstract and pretty much non objective manner. The entire experience is so entertaining, our palates had no idea what was coming for them next!
