I would not recommend Countryside Animal Clinic…read more My elderly dog broke a tooth on Saturday. I found the piece on the ground myself, and by Tuesday she was eating less, so I took her in for a consultation. The reception staff, vet techs, and Dr. Hayden were all wonderful, and I had no issues with them. The problem happened the next day during the scheduled dental procedure with Dr. Kirstin Bloss. After speaking with the vet tech that morning and clarifying why my dog was there, I got a call afterward saying the procedure went well. When I asked how many teeth had been pulled, Dr. Bloss told me none. I reminded her the entire reason for the visit was my dog's broken tooth. Instead of taking accountability, she argued that the tooth looked old and said she had not been told that part, even though that was the reason for the visit. Her solution was to offer to put my 13-year-old dog back under anesthesia after she was already waking up. As an owner, I was not comfortable with that. What made this worse was the complete lack of empathy, accountability, and communication. When I called back because I felt this had not been handled appropriately, I was directed back to Dr. Bloss. She apologized for the "lack of communication," but showed no real concern and even asked why I had switched vets, then suggested I should have gone somewhere else. That was incredibly unprofessional. When I picked up my dog, I asked to speak with Dr. Mike Bloss. Instead of hearing out my concerns, he defended everything that had happened and told me he saw nothing wrong with how I had been spoken to. He said they could have safely put my dog back under based on her bloodwork, but that was never properly explained to me beforehand. He also said removing the tooth may have been worse than leaving it in, which again was never communicated during the consultation. When I asked why none of this had been clearly explained from the start, I was basically told they were not going to make me happy. What disturbed me most was the tone and attitude I was met with when I tried to calmly address a valid concern about my dog's care. I was respectful the entire time. I did not curse, name-call, or act aggressively. I simply wanted answers about why the procedure I brought my dog in for was not done. Instead, I was met with defensiveness, dismissal, and behavior that made me feel very uncomfortable. Based on this experience, I would not trust Dr. Kirstin Bloss or Dr. Mike Bloss with my pets. The lack of professionalism, poor communication, and complete absence of empathy toward a concerned pet owner was extremely upsetting.

Dr Robinson was pretty sure it was cancer but when the needle aspirant went onto glass slide it looked like pus. Under microscope saw only a few bacteria, otherwise just dead WBCs. Home with antibiotic and anti inflammatory. She's had no fever. Thursday lump is much bigger. Chest X-rays ruled out pneumonia or some such. Home with another antibiotic. Friday she had a loud swallow, I knew that ment breathing would be next. Decided with Dr. Robinson to go ahead with surgical investigation and lance it somewhere. Dr Robinson put BB under but had to use a much smaller tube for intubation than with dental last year. When she saw the tonsil, it was much bigger on the inside, it was obvious cancer. Weighing quality of life--being newly deaf, blind in one eye, foggy in the other, aching with joint pains, or left to die trying to breathe?!!--Oh, no. We went in to say goodbye, then my BB went on to sleep on some really good drugs. Dr. Robinson was near tears, very tender and caring, still made it no easier. It all happened so fast. It was so hard. My little Black Beauty Tomato is much happier now, she can see with both eyes, hear as good as ever, and is running easy-fast keeping up with her siblings she just met!!! ‍ All the staff at Healing Paws Veterinary Hospital were so kind dealing with us all week. Drs Robinson, Beatty, and McFarland were so gentle and supportive with 'BB'. So respectful and kind. I can't say enough. Thank you, thank you.

He was very sick and I explain to the doctor that I didn't think it was good for the surgery. She assured me that it would not be a problem and that this was the cure. He died later that night in an emergency clinic. I later learned the dogs with immuno diseases have a higher risk of seizures when on Anesthesia. He said she was too active and I needed to keep her still. I don't think he has ever owned a cat in his life because if he had, he would know it's impossible to keep cats from moving around-especially females. I have had 4 other outside cats spayed a few years ago before we moved to this area and we NEVER had any trouble with their healing like we have with this situation. The worst part though was how inconsiderate, pushy, and condescending he was. He treated me and my husband like we were idiots. He never even acknowledged our daughter who is the owner of our cat and gave the kitten shots right in front of her without warning. It's a shame because the office staff there are all extremely nice and they did their best to make us feel welcomed. However, we will never be going back due to the lack of respect and manners Dr. McIntyre had. If you don't like being treated like shit, I suggest looking for a better place to take your animal.
