They are meant to look Japanese, down to the Japanese writing, but you will see "Made in China" almost every time. I discovered this brand store a few years ago in Korea Town while shopping for a last minute gift. They had about everything that I needed, a whole variety of cute hair accessories, vanity tools, kitchen tools, school supplies, sort of a .99cent store but way way way better quality and almost everything is around $3 or $3.50. The presentation of this place is not my favorite but it is decent and although I'm not sure if they have a/c, the place was fresh today when I walked in. The only downside is that I wish the aisles would be more spacious. Service was good, staff was helpful even though they didn't have what I was looking for. I ended up buying other stuff that I didn't really need but wanted instead. A spray bottle for my makeup brushes cleanser, a little case holder for my fake eyelashes (super cute by the way), and a double nail file that I have yet to try. Oh and my sister went with me so she also got some chips; ALL under $7. Consider me a happy loyal customer from this store. Love the quality and price of the product. read more

This location is close to my SO's family home. His mom insisted on going and thinks this location is bigger than the other one right down the street. It's funny they have a location right next to a 99 cent store. This store is more for cute appeal. The one next door is more for the essentials. I did buy some packets of poster boards. I think a stack of 5 or 6 for just $1.50. Score! It's alright. I've been to 4 different Daisos already and this one is probably my least favorite. At least the lines are outrageous. read more

Maybe I went on an off day but this Daiso seems very sparsely stocked. The staff were generally nice and quick. If you're nearby it's fine to stop at but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit this Daiso. read more

Daiso is good for cheap stuff but it is a terrible place to be shopping in the summer. It felt like a sauna in there because they had no air conditioning. I don't see how their employees deal with it but I'm not going back anytime soon because it's way too hot to shop there in the summer. read more

The parking sucks big time at this location. It feels smaller than the other daisos I've been to. It gets crowded very fast due to all the students. Would love to see more variety here. They are usually well stocked. I wouldn't come here though unless I really absolutely had no other choice. They definitely need a bigger parking lot. Daiso has way to many different items to possibly list in this review. It IS a must visit if you like trinkets, needs storage containers, stationary items, etc. Most of the items are $1.50. There are some other prices, like $2, $3, $5, but it will be noted on the item if so. I admit, this place makes me giddy inside. I'm a pretty impatient shopper, but at Daiso, I definitely spend the time to peruse the aisles. This location is fairly big and spacious. It doesn't seem to busy, which is nice. This location is a lot smaller than other Daiso's & carry a lot less variety of snacks. The selection is actually surprisingly limited. So if you come here for snacks, expect to be disappointed. From the outside the store seemed a lot bigger than it is - it's actually probably half the size of the Valley Blvd or Rosemead Blvd locations. LOVE this Daiso because it's not as crowded as the other locations and the aisles are actually wide enough for carts! Also, they seem to carry more stuff than the one at Atlantic Square. Its a really cute store, has your basic home appliances. I didnt like how they only more selections for small dogs than larger ones. It's really entertaining if you have time in between classes since ELAC is right in back of it. Enjoyed looking around but didnt buy anything. I rather go to other similar stores that are more authentic in Torrance. read more

TWO DAISO LOCATIONS IN MONTEREY PARK?! Now that's just straight up madness. The new South Atlantic Daiso location is way less crowded than the Atlantic time square location, the aisles are more spacious, there is a larger variety of items, and even the parking is a lot easier! Just show some restraint so you don't end up spending over $40 on 20+ items you may or may not ever use haha. The 99 cent store next door has some serious competition now with this powerhouse discount store in such close proximity. Tip: There's a $10 minimum for credit card purchases. I called to see if they had a product I was looking for, after searching numerous stores and driving all over la, a kind gal named JENNIFER assisted me on the phone from this store. She helped me place a special order and I got my items in bulk 3 days later. She was the only daiso employee to offer special order and actually take care of it. This place is dope, most of the qualities of their products are great for the bargain. The only con is NO RETURN, NO EXCHANGE. AVOID buying their towel stuffs, it shed like nuts, the led got to all my laundry, is so annoying. read more

I have no choice but to rate this store one star. I was not happy with the bad customer service I received from Tracy the manager. She was very mean. She did not want to help me out to exchange an item. She kept insisting that the policy is no return or exchanges. I'm thinking other managers at other Daiso stores were more helpful and kind to me. read more

I was purchasing $81 dollars of stuff and was trying to pay with a $100 dollar bill because that's all I had to pay and they did not accept $100 dollar bills really I spent about an hour shopping with my kids and they didn't accept it. So I had to leave everything it's ridiculous that my total was close to a $100 my change would have been less then $20 read more

Love this chain of stores. Best little bargain store ever! I went to the other location in L.A. And was pleasantly surprised when I got to this one. Daiso Japan is my Go-to! I love this place, kind of obsessed actually... They just have really cool stuff, stuff that I never knew I needed until I saw it! Ha! Mostly the items are 1.50 but there are many other items 3 dollars and up, probably to about 10.00. They have seasonal decor, party supplies, tons of craft supplies, toys, makeup, gardening stuff, kitchen supplies, socks, shirts, and much much more. We come here quite often and find such unique things. It's especially great for stocking stuffers, basket stuffers, and small gifty gifts just to let someone know they were thought of. They are part of a strip mall and you can usually find parking. The only thing is, I believe they should have bigger carts where you can put a child to make shopping easier and more affective. :) I always end up spending at least 30 bucks here, I'm not sure how, but I do, and I never regret doing it. Who knew I needed socks for my chairs?!? Or mop shoes to clean my kitchen floor? Too much fun we have here, and I know as my daughter gets older she will enjoy finding these affordable little treasures, just like I did with my mom at stores like these. One of many locations I have visited. Some are smaller or larger than others so you will find a slight differences in merchandise but so far the price is at $1.50 and up but mostly $1.50. Most of the items are from Japan and some made in China. They're a bit different from a Dollar Tree or 99 Cent Only store but I love them all :-). There isn't ANY exchange or returns so be sure you really want to purchase the item. Make sure you read/view the illustrations well for measurements and so forth as most is written in Japanese. However, the illustrations are wonderful. Lol I made a mistake of buying a toilet seat cover for the style "U" of the public restrooms thinking it was the full circle for my home BLAH ( remember no exchange/returns) so I'm stuck with it and a loss of $1.50.
