While I was in drive thru. An employee came out back door with another guy (not in uniform so don't know if employee). Guy not in uniform comes out coughing like crazy then hocking up loogies and spitting and employee came out and lit up, ok on break but do they have to do it by order line. I ordered hot fudge sundae with extra Carmel. They said it would cost more, I said ok. Then I waited for quite awhile for 1 car in front of me to be served then my turn. I got my sundae and said this is extra Carmel? She says ya, I said you charge extra for this amount? She just says ok with a shrug. I said this is not extra, when I'm paying extra there should be more than this she just stares at me blankly & says ok. I ordered a stawberry cheesecake blizzard cake for my coworkers first night back to work. I ordered the cake 5 days before I needed it, so timing wasn't an excuse. I asked for it to have strawberry topping on top with extra cheesecake pieces. I got this monstrosity. It was freezer-burnt and had ice crystals covering the plastic cake box so I couldn't see the cake inside. If I wasn't late for work I would have complained and not paid for it. What had been a simple request previous to a month ago, is obviously not so with the newbies. The last 2 visits, I've paid for blizzards and since I live out of town, I ask for a taller lid to keep from melting and spilling in the car. Today was the SECOND TIME a new trainee shoved a regular flat lid on top of a heaping cup, causing the ice cream to spill down the sides and thru the straw hole. Besides making a mess everywhere, the lid wasn't even secured. WTF?! It's like trying to shove a square block into a round hole. Whatever happened to "common sense"? Nothing's 'common' anymore. Nevertheless, this MESS spilled all over my leather car seats. The last thing I needed after a 3-hr traffic jammed drive to surprise my elderly mom with a treat since she will be having another open heart surgery at 5am. I'm sad to learn that proper training is not a priority to give kids a chance to succeed at their job. Sadly, this seems like this is a standard at most places. I got that ones girls attention and another gal popped around the corner and said "we are understaffed and can't help you due to how busy the window was"... she was so obviously upset I bothered her. When we finally got our two sundaes she filled up the LID not the cup! Gave a smirk later as she walk by. Then she went over and was having a good time flirting with a customer WITH people still waiting for there orders at the window! One of our sundaes has the chocolate all over the lid. I'm tired of having bad experiences at this Dairy Queen! Always such a long wait, they're always understaffed, my orders are never correct, and the quality of this overpriced ice cream is mediocre at best. This evening I was handed my two blizzards almost completely melted after waiting in line for over 15 minutes. I had ordered a royal new York cheesecake, which is more expensive than a normal blizzard. I paid about 6$ for a mini for it to not even have the filling that is advertised. I also ordered a snickers blizzard with EXTRA snickers. You pay extra for this extra topping but again, the amount of snickers pieces were sparse. Dairy Queen in general is known to be so awfully managed however this one really seems to take the cake! read more

What's most interesting is that the line goes just as slow when their ice cream machine isn't working, which is about every other time I've tried to go there. Will not be returning. Management refuses to offer additional mayonnaise upon request. When an establishment no longer serves its customers, it's time to close shop. Took my grandchildren to lunch on Saturday. Received our order and discovered that my chicken sandwich was too dry. I requested a mayo packet from the counter person and he looked at me as if I was asking for all his money. The other employees turned their heads in disbelief that I was asking for mayo. Really? Enter the Twilight zone. The employee had to ask his manager, whom never appeared, and came back to inform me that they no longer provide packets of mayonnaise. I stated that there was an attempt to place mayonnaise on my sandwich but it was too dry. They obviously have mayonnaise so I asked if I could have a small side of mayonnaise that they use in the prep area. I was told no. I informed them that this would be my last visit to DQ in Silverton. I refuse to frequent a business that fails to meet my needs. It's just mayonnaise, right? I don't eat fast food often, but when I do, I like what I like. If I want mayonnaise, I expect my order to be prepared the way I like. If not, move on. I am moving on. I feel badly that these young employees' work experience in fast food has to be working for management that prohibits them from actually fulfilling a simple customer request. My sweet husband brought me a chocolate shake last night from this DQ, and there was HAIR wrapped up in the whipped cream and around the straw(not just A HAIR, but several). Man I was really hoping new management would help this location but today's experience confirmed it will be a long time before I return. First of all I have to say that the staff is always nice, professional and friendly - no complaints there. But I cannot understand the continuous delays while ordering, the lukewarm food and the missing menu items. Today for example I ordered a #5 with onion rings and a Sierra Mist. Only they didn't have onion rings. Or Sierra Mist. Or Pepsi. Or Diet Pepsi. I also ordered the pretzels and cheese. I opened the fries in the car, as any hot blooded person will, and they were totally lukewarm. Did I mention that I ordered at 11:30 am? Worst customer service. First off there is no instruction on how to pick up a order placed online besides just pick it up. There was also no sign on the door about online orders when arriving. The door was unlocked, so I went in and I said I was here to pick up an order and they proceeded to say that I couldn't be in the lobby and I had to go through the drive-thru to pick it up. I then had to get in line behind several cars for an order that was already ready according to the online status. What is the point of ordering ahead or online when your have to wait in the drive-thru. Once I got up to the window 15 minutes later, I sat there for 4-5 minutes longer and not one single person came to the window. The girl who told me to get in the drive-thru disappeared and a man finally came over and handed me a bag of food and drinks. All while most of my order was in the warmer window getting gross. Who puts a sandwich with lettuce under a warmer. Gross.
