The burrito was standard as well, didn't blow me away tasted like any other burrito. This isn't a top of line. I'd give it 6.5/10 Would I come back ? No not because it was bad but I wasn't different or more flavorful than any other burrito spot on the map.

But let's be honest... THIS is what I've always looked forward to at the end of every meal. Apparently I've reached the age where I have to make sure I request my whipped-cream-covered delish treat, instead of waiting for it. Can't leave with out it! I've loved these since I was just a little! But after all these years, it still tastes like childhood. There's something really special about a family-owned local restaurant that stays true to itself--the familiar faces, the same welcoming feeling, and those little traditions you remember growing up with. Thank you, Ixtapa, for never changing. Some things are simply too good to outgrow. If you have not visited this lovely restaurant, you are definitely missing out. Whether you are locals or traveling thru, you have to stop by! -Tiffany LeAnne Thomas -- eating lunch at Ixtapa Mexican Restaurant.

That said, I wanted to share my experience in the hopes it's taken as constructive feedback. I brought my niece and her partner, who are visiting from Georgia, to this spot after a beautiful day at Silver Falls. We were hungry and looking forward to relaxing with some drinks and food. We initially sat at the 21+ section, but had to move since one of us forgot their ID. Totally understandable. Before heading downstairs, the employee asked to see my niece's ID. Since she's from out of state, they also asked to see her debit/credit card to verify her name. While I get the caution, it did feel a bit unusual--especially since we hadn't ordered yet. It made me wonder what would've happened if she only had cash. Downstairs, we were greeted by a new server who seemed... off. Not necessarily rude, but distant, as if they didn't want to be there or didn't really want to engage with us. We ordered drinks and food--drinks were great! But food took about 30-35 minutes, which we understood. What was odd was the service flow. Our server came back to ask if we were ready for the bill... but we hadn't gotten our food yet. Eventually, another employee brought our plates and asked if we needed anything else. We asked for forks, but they never came back. When I asked someone again, our original server casually mentioned that utensils were still being washed--no reassurance or clear follow-up. It just felt like, "Oh well." My niece ended up asking for plastic utensils, and instead we were handed wet metal forks. We dried them ourselves and ate. The server didn't check on us again until the very end, and by that point, we just wanted the check and to go. The food itself was really good--but overall, the atmosphere just didn't feel warm or welcoming. I truly hope this feedback helps. The place has potential, and I'd love to give it another try someday, but this visit left us with mixed feelings.

Absolutely Fabulous -- And the Best Old Fashioned Ever!…read more What a wonderful find in Silverton! Our group of four stopped at The Noble Fox Restaurant & Bar for lunch, and everything about our experience was fantastic. We decided to order several plates to share so we could try a little bit of everything: Gorgonzola Fries, Bacon-Wrapped Dates, Brussels Sprouts, and Spicy Tacos. Every single dish was delicious -- there wasn't a morsel left on the table! I also ordered an Old Fashioned, and I can honestly say it was the best Old Fashioned I've ever had. It was so good that I had to seek out the bartender afterward to personally thank him and ask about his recipe. That led to one of the highlights of our visit: he graciously gifted me a copy of his cocktail book! I was so impressed that I ended up buying five more copies for friends. What a fun and unexpected memory to take home from our trip! The service was wonderful, the food was fabulous, and the hospitality made the experience truly memorable. We enjoyed our meal outside in the beautiful Oregon weather, which made an already great afternoon even better. If you're visiting Silverton or heading to or from Silver Falls State Park, The Noble Fox is absolutely worth a stop. And if you enjoy an Old Fashioned, do yourself a favor and order one! We would definitely return!
