The rice was cooked perfectly, the beans were good and the chicken was tender and juicy. But sadly, there is almost no flavor to anything I tried. Really amazing place to go for affordable Mexican food. There's a lot of dishes that are under $15 and many options. Dessert menu only had a couple options but overall really good food for the price. Finally! A good Mexican food place in Salem. We have passed by several times but never stopped in. But tonight was different. The place is the typical ambiance but it was overshadowed by great staff and great food. We had the Garibaldi Fiesta that gave us a taste of everything. Add that to a couple of perfect Margaritas and we were in heaven. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. We pretty much stop here every time we are on I5 -- which is often lately. The service is incredible. Everyone is so nice. We always enjoy what we order. I'm pretty much stuck on the cheese enchilada and husband enjoys the beef tostada, chicken enchilada and pork tamale -- all tried over several visits. We love knowing we have a go to place right off I5 in Salem. Very clean establishment as well. Super clean and super great ambiance!!! The staff was incredible. They answered all our questions, smiled and laughed with us and checked on us quite a few times. The foot was amazing. I'm literally starving right now just thinking of how good it was. I have to warn you though - the portions are HUGE! Oh my I had my Bible study at Garibaldi's. Hats off to the staff. We took 16 children and about 6 adults and they were so patient and kind to our babies. We have an autistic child and he was excited, nosey and rocking his chair. They were considerate. Now let's talk about the food. Our favorite, go to Mexican food restaurant has always been Casa Baez! Unfortunately they closed We tried Garibaldi's today and found our new go to place. I loved Casa Baez's crisply chunky beef tacos. That's all I ate there because they were the best in town! Garibaldi's rival Casa Baez's! They use shredded beef instead of chunks but the shells are fried crispy. So, so good! My husband got the Pollo ala Creama and he said the Creama sauce was so delicious. He took home enough for dinner tomorrow. They have huge portions too with reasonable prices. Mine was $16.95 and you got 3 tacos and rice and beans. My husbands was $18.95 with Rice and beans. The beans were great and the rice was delicious once I picked the icky peas out! I highly recommend this restaurant and the service was excellent! read more

Classic Mexican fare. I am always leery of a heavily laminated menu with multiple images of the food. Additionally, when they make the one of the most iconic dishes, Chile Relleno in the folded over omelette fashion it' a pause. Honestly, thats my personal barometer. Despite having what really ought to be an Italian restaurant's name, this is pretty decent Tex-Mex. is it the best? No. But their menu is really extensive, ranging from more Americanized fare (like chimichangas) to more authentic Mexican (like mole). The chips and salsa are great, and they also come with a bean dip, which is SO DELICIOUS. I ordered the Sopitos, which in my head were going to be small sopes, but I was phenomenally incorrect - my platter was the size of a small table (no, really). The sopes themselves weren't the best I've had - they were really doughy - but everything stop them was great (I ordered one carnitas and one steak). The rice and beans are also delicious. The service was really good as well. It's pretty standard fare - they aren't changing the script or anything - but you'll get good food. read more

I contacted the restaurant and the lady on the phone was unable to help, the person in the back claiming to be the owner would not refund the money. Probably the best in Salem. Has more of that Mexican authenticity. I do enjoy this place specially the tortillas a mano. Customer service is about an 8 out of 10. There is an older lady and she's amazing love her energy and always smiling and so attentive. I think she's either the manager or owner but her customer service is 10/10. This is a difficult restaurant to rate. The service was outstanding. The waitress was very good and attentive and friendly. The menu was very large, with a lot of choices. So many choices, in fact, that I had a hard time deciding what to order. If I was only rating the restaurant on the staff and menu, it would be an easy 5 stars. The food, however, was not what I'm accustomed to in a fine Mexican restaurant. I had the Molcajete, and was disappointed. It tasted a lot like tomato soup with some meat and onions stirred in. Others at my table said they expected better flavor in their dinners, as well. It wasn't bad. It just wasn't as good as other places in Salem. I'd give the food 3 stars. Maybe next time (if I come back), I'll try something different, and will like it better. If so, I'll update my review to something more positive. For now, though, Garibaldi is on my "not bad, but somewhat forgettable" list. read more

The Super burrito was not "stuffed" with rice and beans as described, couldn't really find much rice but there were some beans and there was an adequate amount of shredded beef (not a big meat eater) the salad was made from Romaine and was a little tough, it would have been much better using iceberg lettuce and more refreshing than using the large tough leaves of Romaine. I received a small scoop of guacamole but NO sour cream. The Flan was nowhere. They forgot my dessert! The food is just meh, nothing to write home about. My lady and I have been trying to find good Mexican restaurant that can be our go too. We've been to number of them and we enjoy La Vida Catrina, Hacienda Real, and Casa Migos (sometimes). But now, Garibaldi's has entered the group of good sit down Mexican restaurants and will probably be our go to out of the four. We went late in the afternoon so it wasn't busy. Service was good and the food was delicious. I love Mexican restaurants that gives you nopales (cactus) and chiles toreados with food. I always order fajitas when I try a new sit down Mexican restaurant to get a general taste and they hit the spot. My lady ordered the carne asada and it was tender and juicy. Tortillas seemed homemade which is another win in my books but I did not ask to make sure. We also ordered some aguas de horchata which were just the right amount of sweetness. Definitely going to become regulars here and would recommend checking it out. read more
