I am remiss in not posting this sooner!!! I want to recognize the impeccable, personable, and outstanding service we always experience from Geranium. Many times we have had a large family group including a 3 year old and Geranium is never ruffled no matter the number of diners. After a particularly unpleasant experience on New Years day 2026 -- awful food and Geranium not our server-- we stayed away from La Hacienda. Our past few experiences have been tertific read more

We were told to come here from someone at a winery and although it was okay, it wasn't great. The cheese dip really lacked flavor and we threw in salsa and jalapeños into it to enjoy it better. The Mexican pizza wasn't bad but not something I'd go out of my way to go back to have. The lady was nice, it seemed like she was the only one working. Ambiance was interesting because it's all very closed off (or at least the area we were in). No beers on draft, just a heads up. read more

My food was good.my friends taco was shell was stale. Our server charged us wrong we ordered sides it was cheaper 1 taco rice beans it should have been 11.20. She argues with us she was told the price for each item she walks away goes to fix it has someone else bring the tickets back split. She was complaining heard her saying blanko that's ok freedom of speech. Good customer service would have been to fix it. When we ordered we said side one taco She said do you want rice & beans yes I was on the sides page. Before that she was ok checked back with us how we were doing. read more

Very pleasant evening and more than enough food!!! Service was prompt and attentive. Food was flavorful. Restaurant was slow in general but that allows amazing service and it showed. read more

Love the food here you can never go wrong with la hacienda. It's beautiful inside as well. Fast service also

Ehhh just ok! Chicken fajitas have tiny skimpy pieces of chicken. Mostly just onion and peppers. Tiny amount of sour cream and quac. There are MUCH better choices around Salem than this restaurant! It's sad when restaurants cut back like this one has It used to be good read more

My food was stolen at 4:19 pm tonight via a DoorDash order. These morons did nothing about it. I called and they said "the manager is not here"... You guys suck and I will never order from this garbage restaurant again. Fucking assholes. read more

Really good Mexican food is hard to find in the North West, but this place was fantastic! The food was hot and fresh and tasted authentic. The tortillas are made fresh and by hand. Their salsas aren't spicy and the horchata isn't very good but the food is great! The service was good, everyone was friendly and attentive. The inside is really pretty and colorful tiles up to the ceiling. read more

Went to it a while ago. Very under seasoned and bland. The drinks to a long time and even though they weren't busy- they sat us in a separate room away from everyone else. Our food was wrong and they took forever to fix it. read more

I came in here with my husband and his parents last night. They recommended it because it was close to their house and usually has pretty quick service. We were all starving. Customer service was good. Although a bit slow. My mother in-law commented that they aren't usually that slow. But the employees were really nice and helpful. We all ordered our food. Which we quickly learned that as long as you don't make any substitutions, you will be ok. My mother in-law ordered her food without guacamole, as she's allergic to avocados and it makes her sick. Hers came with guacamole. I ordered a combination platter with a cheese enchilada, a shredded beef taco, and no beans. The only thing correct on that plate was the cheese enchilada. My husband and father in-law's food was fine, but they didn't make any substitutions. The food was good, but I hate when half of it arrives and we have to send it back immediately with a list of everything they screwed up on it. Props to the waitress who handled it well, but yeah. I hate being that person. The restaurant itself is tiny and cramped. We were squished into our table like sardines. Decor and music is over the top bright. Would I return? Not on my own. It wasn't a terrible experience, but it wasn't a fabulous one either. read more

We've been here several times. Each time the food and service were great. The servers are very friendly. They are located on the corner of NW Wallace Rd and Taggart Drive NW. Ample parking in their parking lot. read more

Great food, margaritas, and customer service. The inside of the restaurant was adorable.

Simply the best Mex in Salem. Service is consistently outstanding, and the ambiance is unique. My understanding is that most of the tile and decor are purchased from family members who make it in Mexico. read more

This is a great restaurant for old white people. I ordered an enchiladas and Tomales lunch special. There was just some cheese on it. Usually you would expect a salsa either red or green over it to brighten the plate up flavor wise. Nope, which made it bland and reminded me of cafeteria food. I wish I could have had salsa on it, I think it's the expectation with both enchiladas and tomales. Shredded been was overcooked and again without salsa or and extra flavor. Consistency of beans and rice was good. Service was great though! I'd recommend this restaurant to all people who have acid and salt dietary issues. read more

Don not come to this restaurant. My wife and I came here tonight after a year away from this restaurant. The reason we did not come for so long was because they consistently got our orders wrong, e.g., giving us chicken enchiladas and not cheese enchiladas as we had ordered. Tonight, my wife ordered a combination dinner with double beans, but they still brought beans and rice. They still will not take care to ensure that your order is correct. If you want good Mexican food in Salem, go to Garibaldi's on Lancaster in East Salem or La Hacienda Real in Keizer, but do not come here to La Hacienda Real in West Salem. They do not care enough about their customers to make sure that they receive the food that they ordered. Never again! read more

EXTRAORDINARILY MEDIOCRE The décor was playfully kitsch, and my partner and I were optimistic. Especially on seeing the good variety of authentic looking Mexican dishes on the menu. However, right off the bat the salsa served with the complimentary chips was... very ketchup-y. My partner ordered the chimichanga with shrimp and chiles rellenos, while I had the verde burrito with pork. Everything tasted remarkably bland, as though it came straight out of a can or premade. My partner and I were quite hungry, but only about half way through we were discussing between ourselves how much better everything there would have been if we'd made it at home. We might've even gotten some dessert if the food was at least fair. However, by the end of it all, we decided we didn't want to spend money on another overpriced dish that was disappointing. Save yourself an expensive but bland experience... make it yourself rather than come here. read more

We enjoy this restaurant! The staff are attentive and depending on what you order the dishes are very flavorful. (Some dishes are designed to appeal to a less robust pallette) The kids usually get a bean burrito without sauce and my spouse and I will pick different dishes so we can share. We both enjoy the fajitas and carnitas! In my spouses opinion any dish the make with the pork carnitas is a win. Stop in and support the staff here, you shouldn't be disappointed. read more

We had very nice server, food was delicious and well worth the money.. had the nacho fajita the steak was real tinder and a lot of it..

Thank you West Salem La Hacienda for taking care of our last minute large order for our family gathering! Everyone enjoyed the food for sure

A nice chili verse was had by all! The grande fabulouso is the homemade tortillas with hot butter dripping in old world deliciousness. The lumpy broken down booths do need replacing as I am not a fan of sitting on rocks and perhaps they could make them a bit wider for better leg room. My family is all over six feet tall and getting our famy into a booth was like shoving a pretzel through the eye of a needle. Ole! read more

They make the absolute best homemade flour tortillas, that are made fresh as you order, right on site! You can actually watch them as they make them in a little room off of the front lobby. I always grab an order or two extra to take home for leftovers. Everything I have had here is so good, but my favorite is the Fajitas Trio! read more

We dined in person here once earlier in the month. They were super busy but the lady helping us was so sweet and answered all our questions about dietary restrictions etc. They have the option to get all black beans if you can't have refried beans and always let me sub extra beans for rice since the rice has chicken broth. Their menu is incredibly extensive but is organized well. All staff have been wearing masks when we have got take out. read more

We recently came to this location. We live out south and the food out south's very good. The food was very bland with little to no flavor. One person in our party ordered shrimp fajitas. When they brought them the sizzle platter was apparently too hot. Everyone in the little room we were in began to cough. They finally came back and took it away and opened a door. The next room began to cough.. the server brought back the fajitas and they were burnt and the shrimp was so over cooked that it was like rubber. No one ever came into our room and apologized to us or the other 5 parties that were in this room. Every one of us agreed that the rice and beans had no flavor. This was a terrible experience and we will never be back. Do your self a favor and only go out south. The food is much better! read more

The food was great and I would have given a 5 star rating because of that and the friendly service. But we got home and they had forgotten our tortillas for our Fajitas. That's half the reason to get tortillas lol. But I can't berate a business too much over one mistake. We will definitely be back in the future. read more

I just love the inside of this restaurant, it's beautiful! Chips served with salsa and beans were great, and I appreciate them bringing me a mild salsa. I had the vegetarian enchiladas, and it was a huge plate. I was so full. Good vegetarian selections! Can't wait to try the fajitas next time :) read more

I gave them a couple more trys but I am so done with la hacienda. First of all my food comes out five minutes after i order it and its luke warm. Second their might be a lot of people working at one time but its mostly busy work and then they act annoyed when we do need something. I am wondering if the tortillas are the only thing they make in house because the steak is tough, guacamole you can totally tell it came from a package and burrito sauces have no flavor. The only reason I gave it one star is because i like their chips and salsa, and watch those are probably store bought too. read more

Holy crap, do you love tiles? Like really love tiles? Like tiles for everything? Walls, bathroom features, hostess station. If so, then this is your place! Service was quick and attentive. The food was pretty good. I had the Chili Verde based on the recommendations here on Yelp and it was pretty satisfying. Also the tortillas are as good as they say they are. Other dishes in my party were ok. Nothing spectacular. Everything is kind of swimming in some kind of sauce. The highlight is the beans and salsa. My wife conviced me to mix them together; I was skeptical at first, but now I'm a believer. The margarita kept my mother-in-law happy, so that's always worth an extra star. read more

Ok not s foodie, I'm a service snob. I will give 5 stars to a Taco Bell if they give me the service this over expecting person is looking for. But this place's food is not as good as Taco Bell. And I mean, Taco Bell hands down. And not cheap, and, poor service. My lunch that was a sloppy mess took 40 minutes. And it was wrong. I tried three times, as I do to make sure the poor service was not some kind of fluke. But the last time the food was so bad I could not eat it. I ended up in desperation for some taco (I mean other than Taco bell up the road a piece) I ended up in Muchas Gracias. (For which I also reviewed) Service was MUCH better, and the food was much, MUCH better. Again, not a food snob, but even I was taken aback. read more

As much as I love this Restaurant, The West Salem La Hacienda is the Worst. I love the Lancaster Restaurant, KEIZER is great and so is South. The first time I ate here, my girlfriend and I got sick. (No details) As a Chef myself, I would give them a second chance of course. Thinking it was just a fluke. So, a couple months later we decided to go out to eat again. Let's just say, Our waitress seemed as if she wasn't all there, The food came Cold, and as we watched our server with her other tables it just got worse. TONIGHT--- My girlfriend wanted some La Hacienda and instead of going out of the way to Lancaster we decided to get West Salem La hacienda To-Go.... As I sit here tasting these dishes I usually love... West Salem La Hacienda disappoints once again. Sad :( Thank you, and I do apologize. it needed to be said! SCC read more

Don't be fooled by the ratings like I was. We were here from out of town at a youth sporting event. I was craving Mexican food and did a sort based upon ratings and place came out on top with 5 stars. The name was not familiar so I was hoping for some good, authentic mexican food. Turns out that this place is a chain. Complete with laminated, froo-froo, faux-tropical cocktails (prices not listed, bright, fluorescent, gynecological-exam-style lighting and large portions of bland, greasy, over cheesed food. I would give 1 and half but I am rounding down to offset the obviously-overinflated existing 5 star ratings. I would classify this as MEH-xican food because it was really, well--meh. The only thing authentically Mexican about the place was employees. I bet they don't eat there. I had the arroz con pollo. Not the worst I have ever had. Maybe just barely better than that. My wife had the tortilla soup. The dominant flavor was black pepper with no other interesting seasonings. She left most of it. There is a plethora of Mexican restaurants in this town, there have to be some that are better than this. read more

This place has really gone downhill in the past ten years. It used to have flavorful beans and pico de gallo...now they are bland and tasteless. I decided to try it one last time. I got my order to go and when I got home, I was disappointed to say the least, the chicken looked like chicken strips that were frozen that they just grilled; not from fresh chicken. The chips were bland and tasteless. The beans were just as bad and they didn't even include the sides of pico de gallo, sour cream or guacamole like they used to. The only good thing about them is they have fast service. That, is it. I won't be coming back again. read more

Being from the land of Mexican restaurants we thought in Oregon this restaurant would not be as good. Much to our surprise the food is absolutely delicious. The restaurant is very well appointed with latin themes throughout. The menu is many pages long with absolutely everything you can imagine. The servers are polite and helpful. We would definitely eat here again. read more

In Salem on business. Went there last week with my wife. The fajitas were very good. Liked it so much we were trying to figure out where to eat the following night so we went back. Steak fajita and the trio night one we both had the Trip fajita night two. Both nights the food was very good, service good and the food was reasonably priced. Wont hesitate to go back. read more

I wanted to like this place so much. Sadly, my Pollo Diablo tasted like chef Boyardee sauce with a couple pieces of chicken and mushrooms in it. The tortillas and chips were fresh. But neither the salsa or the entree had the correct spices. Everything is woefully bland and flavorless. Too bad. On to the next Mexican restaurant. I love Mexican. We ordered chicken fajitas to share. The waitress brought the beans & rice about three minutes before the fajitas, allowing the beans and rice to cool. When they arrived there was very little on them. There was also very little refried beans and way more rice. They raised the price and cut the amount they serve you. We didn't eat all of it and brought home with us. When we ate the leftovers there was a small hair in it as well as a bone in the chicken. When we paid we told the person and she said all of the food is pre-measured--that may be true but they cut the amount you get. With all of this we will not be returning to this restaurant. read more
